Welcome to Dark Age Legends, chapter 4 sign ups! Chapter 4 will pick up where chapter 3 left off, but due to the break in the action, this is an excellent point to jump in if you haven?t already. If you haven?t been following the story the entire way through, don?t worry. You are not expected to read the entire RP-- just the summary and guidelines below. However, if you never played in a forum RP before (particularly this one) you may want to read a random page or two in the middle to get a sense of how everything works. Current players should also read this, as the new rules as there are some rule modifications.
Theme
A fantasy medieval type deal. Magic is encouraged. Technology should be low (but a few weird inventions are okay). Guns are permitted if you really want them, but they shouldn't be too effective.
Archives
The automatically updated <a href='http://darkage.mysticsoftware.net/dal/viewer.php?id=472' target='_blank'>DAL Archives</a> might be easier to read than the topic on this forum if you want look back at the story (it?s just a script that reads from the forum database and strips off all the signature, avatar clutter, etc.) This is useful if you want to save some pages to your harddrive.
You can also download the entirety of chapters 1-3 in a <a href='http://darkage.mysticsoftware.net/dal/DAL.zip' target='_blank'>single ZIP file</a> (415 KB), which include a list of all the past characters and bios.
Background Story (Chapter 4 prelude)
Romme has disappeared into nothingness, along with the Dark Emperor Retan, his own son-- the only heir to the Dark Empire, the two other highest ranking officers, and countless others? In but a flash the entire ruling class of the sprawling militant nation has vanished in a spell gone awry.
One month has passed since the events at Romme. The endless battle for territory has ended. Without its leaders, the Dark Empire, encompassing nearly half of the world, ceased its wars on its neighbors. Finally peace was at hand, for those battling against the empire, at least? for a new sort of chaos erupted within the once powerful nation?s borders. Without a clear heir to the throne, the minor officers began to bicker. Massive civil war erupted. The sprawling mainland of the Dark Empire-- Terius, a continent spanning nearly 1,000 miles across, has literally been split into hundreds of tiny factions, the former officers now assuming the roles of local warmongers, each grabbing a city or two for themselves. It is a time when only the strong survive?
The city of Laus, located at the very southern tip of a peninsula of Terius, was the only stronghold against the Dark Empire on the entire continent one month ago. Now with the threat of invasion gone, pirates and thieves from across the world are flocking to this city, anxious to trek northward into the former empire?s mainland and take advantage of the chaos, lured by the thought that it is impossible for such a conquering nation not to have vast reserves of gold?
Chapter 1 and 2 summaries can be found in the chapter 2 and 3 signup topics (just increase the topic viewing cutoff date to see them)
Chapter 3 summary -- coming soon.
Dark Age Legends Rules v1.4
There are two types of people in the RP: characters and NPCs.
You can have up to four active characters (who you'll set up here). These are your characters and your characters alone. No one can control them but you.
Creating Characters
In an attempt to avoid stalemates and regulate battles better, characters are created a bit differently this chapter. Every player has 4 character points. Each player can use between 1 and 3 points to create a character. The amount of points used corresponds to a character?s level. The higher the level, the stronger that character is (but, the stronger your characters are, the less characters you?ll be able to make, since you?ll use up more points). For example, you can have two level 2 characters, one level 3 and one level 1 character, or four level 1 characters, etc. As long as your characters? levels add to 4, you?re fine. You don?t have to use up all your character points. How levels effect battles is explained below.
NPCs
NPCs are more flexible. Often you?ll see some soldiers, villagers, monsters, or other non important characters. Generally, anyone can create and use these characters. But if someone is using a NPC in a character like fashion, it?s probably best not to control it for them. Generally NPCs die off or leave the story in some way after a few posts, so posting them on the sign-up isn?t necessary.
Levels don?t apply to NPCs. Use your own judgment in determining how strong a NPC should be relative to your character.
Levels
Before, the results of all attacks were determined by the target of the attack. But in the event that two players both thought their characters should win, this lead to extremely drawn out stalemates (heh?).
The rules on the results of attacks remain the same, but these level rules affect the end result of battles.
In a battle, the character with the higher level has the right to win. The lower level character should concede after five or six posts (note that losing a battle doesn?t mean your character has to die). The levels are additive in handicap battles (battle of 1 vs. more than 1). The side with the highest sum of levels has the right to win. For example, a level 3 character should win against a level single 2 character, but should lose against four level 1 characters.
In a battle of equals (i.e. a level 2 character vs. another level 2, or one level 3 vs. three level 1?s, etc) there is no clear-cut winner. These battles will probably resemble battling in previous chapters more. Note that someone else jumping in on one side will definitely sway the battle in that side?s favor, though.
Your character?s abilities and description should correspond to his/her level. Some rough ideas of what a character of each level is:
Level 1: The most realistic characters. They probably know a few good spells or techniques, but have a lack of supernatural strength and powers. These characters are most likely going to want to avoid battling alone and seek out others to team up with (RPG party, anyone?)
Level 2: Members of this class usually have attained some powerful skills and are much more effective warriors. Perhaps there is some supernatural element in their strength or maybe they have much experience in the battlefield.
Level 3: The extremely destructive villains or the untouchable heroes. They have mastered many techniques and are extremely strong. They are nearly invincible in one on one combat. The only sure way to take them down is to overwhelm them with numbers? Still they should have a weakness or two, although what it is is not always obvious.
Remember: This is a story, not a game, and there are no winners or losers!
Increasing levels
You can increase your character?s level (up to level 3) if you have enough character points in reserve. For example, if you only created one level 2 character (keeping 2 points in reserve) and want him/her to become a level 3 at some later point. If you want to increase your character?s level, please do it in an interesting way (i.e. the character completes some sort of quest, etc.)
Beyond level 3
I will consider allowing a character to grow to level 4 on a case by case basis. The requirements for leveling up beyond level 3 is 1) The character must have existed for a full chapter beforehand and 2) The character must have successfully completed some sort of quest involving other players? characters as opposition. If you think one of your characters qualify, PM me an application stating why you think your character qualifies. If I approve it, I will then post those reasons for other players to consider along with a poll. If 75% of the players approve it, your character will be granted the extra level. Characters above level 3 still only count for 3 points in your character point total.
Swapping
You can make any one of your characters inactive at any time. Making a character inactive means that that character?s level points become available for you to either make a new character or make another one of your inactive characters active again. Remember that the sum of your active character?s level can not exceed 4.
Note that a character can only be swapped out and brought back once per chapter. After that, if you want to make that character inactive again, you can do so, but he/she will have to sit out for the rest of the chapter.
Methods of making a character inactive include making them fall unconscious, having them go to sleep, leave the action, etc.
Actions
Each character is limited to two "actions" per post. An action is something your character does. Some examples:
- Attacking another character
- Defending an attack
- Preparing an attack (i.e. for bigger than normal spells)
- Starting to walk/run/fly from one place to another
- Arriving on the scene
- Picking up an item
... etc. Basically use your own judgment. Conversation with other characters doesn't count (so you can talk as much as you want).
Charging Techniques and Levels
If a character takes more than one post to perform an attack, spell, etc., the number of posts taken before the attack is launched should be taken into consideration along with that character?s level. I.e. If a level two character prepares a fireball for 2 turns before launching it, it should not be blockable by a level 3 character (level 2 + 2 turns = 4) unless the level 3 character spent the previous turn preparing some sort of defensive technique (level 3 + 1 turn = 4).
Story events and nature of actions
As far as the story goes, anything can happen as long as it's in good taste and doesn't disrupt the flow of the RP. The only restriction is that you don't control other players' characters. i.e. If you throw a fireball at someone, you let them decide whether they get hit by it or not.
Travel
Try and be realistic in the amount of time it takes to get to one place from another. You should never leave one area and arrive in the next in the same post. Places that are farther away should take more posts to get to. I'm not going to spell out the distances between each place we've been to so far, so use your own judgment.
Be descriptive! Especially when you're entering a place of your own design. Try and build off of other posters' descriptions as well. This is important, as it?s easier to tell what?s going on if you know where you?re at.
Posting
There is a limit of two 'updates' per day. An update is a post that contains any actions for any of your characters. The only exception is a post that contains only dialogue, i.e. if your character is just talking to another character.
On the other hand, try and stop in to update at least once a day!
Three day rule: If you are fighting someone and your opponent doesn?t post for three days, assume they were hit by your attack and knocked unconscious (heh?)
If your character performs an action that demands a response from another player's character (i.e. perform an attack, ask a question), do not post an update to your character until the other player updates his/her character. Some exceptions obviously exist (see the 'three day rule', for example). If you do something that might elicit a response from multiple characters, use your own judgment. If you are unsure, put yourself in the other player's shoes and ask yourself if you would want to respond to your action.
Limitations
No unbounded instant teleportation. If they have the ability, characters can only teleport for short distances, and even that should be used sparingly. No instant transmission from one place to a totally different one.
Comments
Comments not part of the flow of the RP should be made obvious by placing them in between parentheses or slashes, etc. Try and keep commenting to a minimum. Major questions should be asked on this topic, rather than in the middle of the RP.
Try and refrain from quoting other posts unless absolutely necessary, since they just look bad and disrupt the flow of the RP.
Reading
It is important to read every post of the RP since your last post, and perhaps a page or two before the current point if you?re just signing up. In order to create a coherent story and world, we all need to know what is going on with everyone else, even if what other characters are doing on the other side of the world don?t immediately affect your own.
Though the above rules are long, they are certainly not as long as the collective posts the RP receives on a good day. <span style='color:red'>Chances are if you?ve just skimmed though the above rules and jumped to this line you are not cut out for this RP.</span>
(Heh?)

Chapter 4 begins in a week or so!
-
God damn it... get's a bit complicated, doesn't it? Hope you will be standing guard in case Haraldur's level 1 character (that was a joke, we all know Haraldur will use level 3 character - as well as PM Xorlak every week asking for level 4) refuses to fall/escape after a week-long battle with my level 2 character Wink
(Lars Ulrich, huh... Wink)
Anyway... my characters:
Name: Cheetah Citra
Level: 2
Gender: Male
Race: Gepardi
Age: 22
Job: Shapeshifter / Adventurer
Weapon(s): None, abandoned the spear, usually fights in his transformed shapes
Alliance: None
Description:
Cheetah has short beard, long hair and wanders dressed in light leather armor made from animal skins.
Chapter 1, 2, 3 Bio:
Cheetah has left his island homeland of Samudra in attempt to seek for adventure and learn new transformations. He acame across the island kingdom of Romme at the time it was attacked by Dark Empire. He aided the "good" side, but as he realised Retan wanted to use a devastating spell, he fled and since then resided on a small island archipelago north of Romme.
Bio:
As he spent time on the island hunting and meditating over matters totally insignificant he suddenly noticed a wyvern on the horizon. To his amazement, the wyvern transformed into his old friend, Talon, who informed him about the situation. The Samudra Gepardis, living in isolation and even shunning other Gepardis, were attacked by pirate fleet, who pillaged the islands and during an attack, heavily wounded the old leader, Muni. He, dying, installed Talon as the new leader, but first he ordered him to seek out Cheetah and delivered him a small, wooden box he was told never to open.
After spending few days on the island, Talon said goodbye and left back to his homeland to begin his rule as the first leader of the new dynasty.
After his friend's depature, Cheetah opened the box, and, to his amazement, inside was an ornamented flask, liquid inside was clear like water, but rapidly moving, as if a seastorm was happening inside. Hew knew the sight of such flasks that old Muni used to store. These were actually the essences, captured, yet not consumed. What type of essence could this be?
As he opened the flask and drank the liquid, he could feel himself changing - he grew scales and his body turned into serpent-like one, he suddenly began to feel uncomfortable on land. He became a small-size Posidon, the water dragon.
"Excellent." - said Cheetah, transforming back into human form, since now remembering the new form. - "Perfect gift from the old Muni. I guess he either cared about me a bit, or went mad to send me this. Either way, he propably knew I'll need some aid on my adventurous life, hehehe."
After hearing about Dark Empire's fall from Talon, Cheetah turned into his new form and began to transverse the waters in search for the continent he could do something interesting next. It didn't took too much time before Cheetah arrived at the city of Laus.
(Cheetah's transformations now include: grey shark, barracuda, cheetah, wyvern, ice serpent and water drake)
Name: Kismet
Level: 1
Gender: Male (as all my characters, heh...)
Race: Generally, human (altough he claims to be the "chosen one")
Age: 18
Job: Warrior Priest
Weapon(s): Firebrand sword (burning with flame)
Alliance: Milintica (a religious sect)
Description:
Absolutely void of all facial and body hair (which is believed to be imperfect and burned out in a ritual for those entering Milintica sect), wearing white clothes and white cape with red fire symbol on the back.
Bio:
Kismet was an orphan, who as a baby was found in a basket left before the Milintica sect headquarters' doors (the headquarters were forged undeground, in natural cave system somewhere in the maindland). Milintica, who criticised Dark Empire's world conquer, was working in conspiration. Now, when news about the fall of it spread, the great priest of Milintica decided it'll be better to send away the young Kismet (who finished his warrior-priest training not too long ago) to Laus to explore the world and teach the word the words of the cult. He was never of any bigger use at the headquarters anyway (always wanting power but never wanting to work for it), so great priest delivered him his firebrand sword and sent away...
As a priest of Milintica, Kismet has natural resistance to fire and can use fire and holy spells as well, altough his level of skill is not really anywhere near expert. Trademark spell of Milintica members is temporary spontaneous combustion, which engulfs themselves in holy fire, harmless to them, but deadly against opponents, mainly undead and all true evil.

Name: Kami-ryu
Level: 1
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 19
Job: Ninja.
Weapon: Two dragon swords, kunai and various other ninja items.
Alliance: Zeros'
Description: He wore an elaborate cloak over himself, drapped in the darkest black ever imaginable. It reached to his hands, covering them when he stood in a neutral stance. The cloak also reached to his feet, where there were no shoes. His face was made non-existant as thehood covered the top of his head, while a shadow cast across his face.
Two swords hung, strapped on the left side of him. Both swords were equally long and slightly curved, the shape of the standard katana. The hilt consited of a black roaring dragon on either hilt, one with sapphire eyes, the other with ruby. The sword guard consited of pure gold, as well as the end of the sheath- which was also black.
His face was definitly American. He had dark green eyes, although only one was shown, his right eye. The left side of his face was covered in clean bandages, starting just below his left ear, going diagnolly up to the right to his forehead, stopping in the middle. His hair was a short brown, spiked ever so slightly, as to add to the indimidation. His mouth had a scar starting at the bottom of his nose, across his lips and ending at the cleft of his chin.
If the young person extended his right arm, he would reveal a metallic arm. The arm might have resembled a real limb, if the right color, except for places where the metal work was obvious, such as bolts and some places where there needed to be gaps in the metal work. If he extended his left leg, it revealed a metallic leg, looking exactly like the other metallic limb, shined to perfection.
If the young man turned around, he would reveal a spetacular golden dragon symbol, ragging and twisting on his back. He also stood about 5 feet.
Bio: Kami-ryu is a young ninja, who swore alligence to his master. Recently, hositlites between two clans. Kami was the head ninja of the clan he swore alligence to, he would do anything; the opposing clan happened to be one that his first love resided to. The day before, he had proposed to his love and she greatfully accepted.
The following day, his master swore war to the other clan. Kami-ryu was struck with greif, not wanting to destory his true love. His master threatened him with the acts of treason and sepukku. Kami reluctently agreeded and so continued the battle.
A long a arduious battle took blace betweem the to clans. A long and bloody battle raged on for hours, the last two members of each clan left to battle; Kami-ryu and his true love.
Both were struck with greif, but they reluctently battled agianst each other, Kami-ryu winning in he end, but not without his own injuries. The battle cost him his right arm and left leg. Zeros' managed to come by just in the nick of time and managed to craft the metal limbs and bind them with magic to Kami's body. After that, Kami took what he could scavenge from the battle, his cloak a reminder of his pain and the swords a family heirloom.
Kami kept his ninja heiratige, he swore he would never alliance himself with another, expect his current master and his family, Zeros'. He took up another postion of a long forgotten trade of alchemy and soon became the only living master.
----
As for anyone wondering about the weapons scattered at the end of Chapter 3, I'm leaving that up to Xorlak to decide if Zeros' holds any, except for Iduran's.

"Obviously", you should have added.

Looking good!
As a bit of clarification: I'm not going to grant level 4 increases before chapter 4 starts, since I want everyone to start off on the same ground with this level thing.
Kahn: That's fine. I don't see anything wrong with moving down a level.
Zeros': Zeros' can find the weapons during the chapter, but starting out with any other than that sword wouldn't be fair (although it it possible that he has obtained information on where one is located during the past month)
Also, I updated the <a href='http://darkage.mysticsoftware.net/dal/DAL.zip' target='_blank'>ZIPed archive</a> with a complete list and bios of all the characters that participated in the first three chapters.
-
Hey Zeros' dosen't your character still have Nex's syth(sp)?
So Xorlak, I'm a tiny bit confused here, Laus, is the good guy and Terius, is the bad guy, or is it the other way around?
<span style='color:blue'>I also did a small update on Frost and Bite's weapons</span>
-
Errr... Dude Man, Terius is a continent and Laus is a city at southern tip of it. Unless there's something wrong with me, a mass of land can't be "good" or "bad".

Ah... I guess I'll join this one. The level system makes this one worth partcipating in, So my characters don't get into 2 week long battles til I finally get pissed and give up..
Seth stayed on his little Island and called it home, btw, so he's not just lost at sea. He found some nice Islanders to live with.
Nevina returns! ^.^
Name: Nevina Seev
Level: 2
Gender: Female
Race: Jin Elf (A race I made up. She's the last of the species. They have a milienium long life span and never get old looking. They tend to be very proficient in White Magic.)
Age: 179 human years (Still very beautiful, Jin Elves stop aging at 17-23 human years)
Job: Jin Knight (A Lightly armored warrior who is proficiant in Curative/Holy magicks)
Weapon(s): A scimitar (The curved, arabic sword) and a Holy Dirk (A dagger), and a Holy Bastard Sword.
Alliance: Romme
Description: A Staggeringly beautiful Jin Elf. She is about 5 foot 6 inches and weighs about 102 pounds. She has Long, straight, Ocean Blue hair (Natural. Jins have odd hair colors). Her hair is about a foot past her shoulders and almost covers her eligant Elven Ears. Her Eyes are Silvery and beautiful, yet slightly creepy. Her skin is soft and has a light tan. She wears a white, tightly fitted tunic with no sleeves. On her neck she wears a silver chain with an odd looking pendant hanging from it. She wears a blue skirt that goes a little past her knees and from her waist hangs a bit of Red cloth with a golden crest in it. Under her skirt the Holy Dirk is tied to her leg. She wears wooden sandals on her feet.
Personality-wise, Nevina is very kind and consiterate. She hates injustice. She doesn't like to be under-estimimated just because she's a woman. She doesn't talk a lot unless she needs to, and she forgives people easily, if she feels they really are deserving of forgiveness, and holds very few grudges. A lot of times she likes to be left alone.
Bio: The Jin Elves lived on the Island even before the Romme Empire occupied it. The Jin Elves battled the Romme Empire when they found the Island, a very long time ago. The Jin Elves lost the Battle due to lack of man-power and shortage of resources.
Nevina was a warrior at the time of the war, and was a Well-Respected Commander. She was argueably the best warrior in the Jin Empire. She slew many Rommes in her days of service.
She holds no Grudges against the Rommes, as the 150 years of time has healed her emotional wounds. After the war, very few Jins were alive, and all of them with the exception of Nevina and two of the Jin elders were alive after a Plague brought over by the Rommes swept the Jin race. Even though the Jins are great white magicians, they did not know how to combat this plague. The Elders died about 60 years ago and since then, Nevina has lived alone. She did occasionally visit the Romme Villages, but kept to herself in the half-Ruined Jin Palace mostly, training her magic and physical prowess.
The Palace is to the far West of the island. The east wing is in ruins from time and battle, but The rest is intact and mostly good condition. The palace is made of Marble and closely resembles Arabic Palaces.
Chapter 2 bio: Nevina basically played Baby sitter for Zeros' children, Qeni and Zev. She has just resently joined with the Romme Resistance.
Chapter 3 bio: Didn't really do much, almost got killed, along with all of MotD's characters.

If anyone is wondering, this is just a bio of Genma. He's not actually going to be included in the story.
----
Name: [Late] Genma
Level: 3
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 1089 [Deceased]
Job: NA
Weapon: Staff
Alliance: Dark Empire
Description: Old master of the martial arts. He stands about 4'9. He wears a black robe, with a purple vest over it. His right hand his covered in a black cloth, which raps around his hand and up to alittle less then half his arm, bald and has a long white beard. He gained carnines (fangs) for the top of his mouth, white wolf ears and long flowing white hair after murging with Zev.
Bio: A legendary martial artist, whos name has been passed down through the age. His skills were only passed down to his one pupil, Zeros'. He survived for more then 1000 years by using his ki to minipulate how his body functions, allowing him to survive.
He joined the Dark Empire roughly a few years before Retan took control and quickly advanced in the ranks. His main objective was to get close to the emperor enough to assassianate him. After the inital invasion on Romme, Genma's duties were called to order to help the Dark Empire.
He quickly found himself defending the Romme people from the likes of the head-strung Draven, and the water serpent, Neptra. He kidnapped the hero of Romme and effectively killed him, although indirectly. He quickly found himself fighting agianst the water draken Neptra.
He and Zion effectively managed to kill Neptra, much to Genma's displease. He gave Neptra a proper bural to where she was born. The destruction of Romme gave him time to train Zeros' in the last of his martial arts.
After a fatal mistake in judging one of Zeros' strikes, cost Genma his life.
"Find the weapons...keep...*cough*..them from the...*cough*..Empire..." Those were the last words he spoke to his only pupil before he lapsed into the eternal sleep. Now it was Zeros' burden to carry to stop the Empire once and for all.
----
That's all for Genma's tale of woe.

-
Not trying to be too sarcastic, but...
Supreme Warrior with Dark Magic on his Side.
Supreme level 1 Warrior with Dark Magic on his Side. Wink
"Can he be trusted?"
What can't be trusted, can be thrusted (with a blade), as Scorch would say, if he weren't dead.
It seems that me, Xorlak and Kahn are only people who didn't use all 4 points from start!
-
Yeah Cesque has got a point. I say you should have your characters both be level 2!
I only used up all my points because, I've been planning on haveing Frost And Bite for awile and Duilin would probally have to be a level 2 by now.
-
Starting out with level 3 characters is just fine. Two 1's and a 2 are the same as a 1 and a 3 in terms of a gang fight (heh...)
Zeros': It would be interesting if you did a little sidestory of Zero's and Genma's fight.
-
Hey, now hold on! How am I supposed to have all my charries if we're limited to 4 points? I'm intending to have two level 2's (Zion and Xenai) and one level 1 (Tsu). With this point system thing, it seems I can't have all my charries!
-
Ha ha ha Smile Just resign from one, make him inactive, or something...
It's called BALANCE, Eon.
(I can't remember Tsu doing any significant action i previous RP anyway Wink)
-
Xorlak, are you doing the summary (I hope), or am I doing it still (hope not)?
-
EoN: Hmmm, yes, sorry about that... This is sort of an experimental thing, and I may consider increasing the starting points next chapter depending on how things go. But for now, I'd like to keep it how it is. So you'll have to have one of them sit out or take off a level.
Haraldur: I have no intentions of doing a summary (heh...) I you don't want to, that's fine. This chapter is pretty much starting a new story anyway, so what happened in the previous chapters isn't as vital for the newcomers.
-
Two weeks after the destruction of Romme...
On a distant island off the contient where Romme once stood, two huge aura
could be seen flaring around the islands, swirling and twisting with each
blow. The aura's died for a moment before flaring again, sending shockwaves
of energy rippling through the air.
People in the city of Laus, located at the very southern tip of a peninsula
of Terius, watching in awe as huge tidal waves peeked out over the tops of
mountains. The aura seemed to dance about as the two fighters of extreme levels
clashed, murrmrs of power that rivaled Retan were passed on as none of the
passerby's dared move an inch, this battle too spertacular for mear words.
Zeros' and Genma weren't holding back.
Genma raised his right forearm to block an incoming punch from Zeros' left
hook, but Zeros' stopped the attack and came down with a leg sweep, sweeping
Genma off his feet. Genma thrust his right arm downwards, open palm, and
managed to push off to the side, dodging an incoming punch from Zeros'.
Genma stopped in the air and launched a vaccum blade attack at Zeros', only
for Zeros' to blur out of sight, as did Genma. The speed of these two fighters
was great, creating shockwaves as there speed broke the sound barrier. They
both reappeared for an instant before disappearing again, creating various
craters of sizes.
Genma was sent sprawling into a nearby mountain, a huge dent over 50 feet
deep appeared, huge spiderweb like cracks accompained the sudden impact as
the mountain collapsed upon the old master. Genma wasted no time and pushed
out with his ki, sending huge rock sharpnel flying from the mountain.
"Come on! Lets finish this!" Genma snarled as he launched out with hundreds of
punches towards Zeros', who swiftly dodged and blocked the punches that would
crush a normal man. Zeros' saw a hole in Genma's defense and lashed out, catching
Genma off guard.
Zeros' wasted no time and unsheathed his sword, transforming it back into it
demon form. He seemed to teleport in front of Genma and lashed out with Yamasen-ken blades, which Genma had no defense against.
Genma's body was torn to shreads as the blades tore through his prone body,
sending blood flying through the air as both arms were cut cleanly off, sending
a spray of blood and a scream of anguish accompained the ripping of flesh and
bone. The blades also cut through Genma's left leg, adding to the anguish.
The blades cut for another mile, leaving a trail of blood and and destruction
in there path. Zeros' litterly teleported and scooped Genma up into his arms and
sobbed quietly as he watched his master die in his arms.
"Zeros'..." Genma coughed up a long trail of blood as he focused what little ki
he has left; he needed to relay one last message to his student. Zeros' clutched
his master tighter to him.
"Y- yeah..?" He said between sobs.
"Find the weapons...keep...*cough*..them from the...*cough*..Empire..." Those
were Genma's last word as he went limp in his only students arms, ending the
legacy of Genma. Zeros' threw his head back and let out one last cry of anguish.
Zeros' gently laid Genma down on the ground and flared his ki, making the people
in Laus cringed in fear at the sudden outbrust of power. Several people assumed
the feedle postion and silently cried to themselves. Was the world going to end?
Zeros' silently gathered his ki back into his body and concentrated it into a blast.
Zeros' picked up Genma again and sobbed one last time before putting his body to
rest. He wiped away his tears and turned towards the horizion. He would prefect
the school and carry on his masters legacy.
----
There. That is the incident which took Genma's life and started Zeros' on the path to martial arts mastery.
-
I will finish my half finished summary at the weekend. I like there to be a summary.
-
I see. I think I can do that for now.
Name: Zion Ultima
Level: 2
Gender: Male
Race: Human?
Age: 28
Job: Undistinguishable
Weapon(s): Eternity Weapon, a long but thin, light sword that radiates light.
Alliance: None yet
Description: Zion has relatively short teal hair (Think Yusuke Urameshi with teal hair) and ice blue eyes. He stands at 6 feet tall and wears teal and white whenever he can. He is well built, but not huge and hulking (Think Yusuke again).
Chapter 3 Bio: Zion, having come upon Romme noticing that it was destroyed, felt around for any dark, significant auras. He found Draven, and ended up fighting him. It came out as a stalemate. After trying to deal with the Zero Weapon when Xenai summoned it, Retan showed up, and Zion apted to fight him. When he got to the ship he was on though, it was already gone, and helped Genma to destroy Neptra.
Name: Xenai Omega
Level: 2
Gender: Male
Race: Human?
Age: 28
Job: Undistinguishable
Weapon(s): Zero Weapon, a huge Zanbatou-esque sword that radiates darkness.
Alliance: No one yet
Description: Xenai has big blue hair and wears a black headband (Think Sanosuke Sagara) and demonic red eyes. He stands at 6 feet tall and wears black and blue whenever he can. He is well built, but not huge and hulking (Think Sano again).
Chapter 3 Bio: Xenai did not do much, but he did many important things to sway the outcome of the chapter, like summoning the Zero Weapon, and then giving it to Retan while he charged the MDAA.
Zion and Xenai Bio: These two were not intended to have the relationship of animosity that they had in Chapter 3. Rather, they were intended to work together, creating an unstoppable force of light and dark that worked together. But something was planted on Xenai when he was a child, and thus, he grew to be evil. He created the Zero Weapon when he was 16, and summoned it on Zion in an attempt to destroy him. Luckily, the Zero Weapon was but a prototype then, and Zion barely defeated it. Xenai would spend the next 10 years perfecting it. And he succeeded, creating an unstoppable demon that was capable of crushing small villages with a wave of its arm. Tsu has now removed the thing that was planted on Xenai. But will he turn out good when he returns to consciousness.
Name: Tsunan Nami (Tsu for short)
Level: 1
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 18
Job: Kuon-Jin (Hybrid of Warrior and Thief)
Weapon(s): Kuon Yaiba, a katana with both sides of the blade flat.
Alliance: No one yet
Description: See avatar. Make him look 18. Take his shades off. There you go. *Is lazy.*
Bio: Tsunan is a man who is very hard to get to know. No one can really describe him, except for those who have known him for a long time. He resents killing, which is apparent by his katana, where both sides of the blade are flat. He is always trying to break his limits, and he will keep going until all of his limits are gone.
Chapter 3 Bio: Tsu did little in the last chapter, but he helped with the wraiths when Retan was charging his MDAA, and removed the evil mark from Xenai right before the chapter ended.
-
Zeros': I knew it. It was that blasted Yamasen-ken! (heh...)
Haraldur: Thanks.
Chapter 4 begins tomarrow!
-
Yah! So, I didn't have my question answred, or did I not ask it yet? Anyways, what is the good team and what is the evil team?
I also noticed that most of the characters are outsiders Razz .
-
I certainly hope this chapter will be more than simply dividing into 2 teams and fighting each other from start to end...
-
There should be more. Even though that was basically the entire point of the first one, but the Dark Empire had to be killed, or else they would get the sword!
-
I'm making a new character, and reducing Jakk's level to a level 1.
Name: Armic a' Kahrr
Level: 1
Gender: Male
Race: Humanoid
Age: 42
Job: Dark-Cleric
Weapon(s): Long Sword: Blade black in color, hilt made of Silver, this weapon is oddly light and is decorated with strange runes. Qor's curse swarms over it.
Staff: This Staff is made of an ancient wood, solid black in color, the head is golden and embedded with a blood red gem at it's top. The bottom jags and is coated in an odd metal, coming to a tip.
Alliance: Alligned only to the glorous god of Death and Chaos, Qor.
Description: This man's silver hair drapes over his face gracefully, covering a red eye. He is pale, and his skin feels deathly cold, but smooth. His lips are deep red, and vampiric teeth show in his mouth. His chest is covered in a Black coat on the left side, under it a chain mail shirt rests upon his creast. In his black coat rests a book, bound human skin. On his other side, no coat, only the chain mail. From his waist, a cloath belt hangs, a flag, white in color, with a siver pendant, the sign of Qor, hangs past his knees. His black pants come to the top of his black boots gradually, and on his left leg, he is covered in black leather straps.
Bio: The man knows nothing of his past, and remembers only trouble, and Qor. The God Qor, comforting him in his despair. He swore his alliance to Qor, and now works only to spread Qor's work, andbring forth the worlds destruction, fo after the brink has past, only Qor will exist, and the creation of the world will be redone into Qor's perfection.
Cookie to whoever can guess what game I got the name "Qor" from. ;^)
-
Dunno, but there's a site about some "Sumarius" where there is something about spells of Qor...
-
Nice Character Cyber Wolf. He's like the bizaro Nevina, a little, he's like the Darkness guy and Nevina is Light n' stuff. Defently sounds liek a bad guy, since he's a dark dude. Wait, Duilin is also a dark dude, is he evil? Maybe...
He might become bad, like Anikan Skywalker in Star Wars, and he'll be driven to the Dark Side, and become the Ultimate villian?
Nah, he's probally going to end up like Luke Skywalker, or something.
-
Whatever he is, I guess he won't become a friend of Kismet. Razz
Edit:
Someone should seriously consider getting Dippy off this roleplay using the good old "sledgehammer method"...
I still think he's nicer addition to RP than Haraldur, though.
-
Hehe, Actually, It's from an Online game called "Meridian59". One of the spell schools is Qor. A lot of the TKZ Community plays the game.
-
Someone should seriously consider getting Dippy off this roleplay using the good old "sledgehammer method"...
I still think he's nicer addition to RP than Haraldur, though.
Why should we get Dippy off the RP? I say his character is fine, he dosen't use super crazy flying insta killa attacks. He's just....a two headed yettie!
But, why is everyone trying to kill Frost and Bite when they allready lost. (You guys seem to be worse then the Ice Warriors) Besides, we need more bad guys, we should probally have them join up with Lars as the little idiotic stooges, like Beebop and Rocksteady (Warthog and Rhino) from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
-
Huh... the new level system is not too "creating new character"-friendly Wink
Well, previously, we got lots of evil, so now we get lots of good.
-
Heh, it's funny because I never really intended Frost and Bite to be with the evil, untill resently. Razz
-
"With the evil." Ah, but is Lars really with the evil, or with the good, and those who think they're with the good are really with the evil?
-
Well, if he's with the DARK Empire you would think that he's evil.
Or dose he just have Dark Empire coins? Oh what's the use, your not going to answer that, if you do, your just gonna say, "Is he with the Dark Empire useing the Dark Empires coins? Or is the Dark Empire with him useing his coins?"
Or something to that effect...
-
Or he's pillaged former northern Dark Empire cities to the north...
Or...
(Heh...)
-
The world works in mysterious ways...Heh.
-
Or he's pillaged former northern Dark Empire cities to the north...
Or...
(Heh...)
*runs away plugging his ears yelling*
Razz
-
I still believe he's just Lars Ulrich, drummer from Metallica, who by some way managed to enter a fantasy RP and disguises himself as a prophet.
-
Or maybe he's Lars from Fallout, the guard of Junktown, with leather armour and a handgun!
-
Or he could be Lars, someone that Xorlak made up for the DAL RP for the purposes of moving the story along.
-
I'll go with Lars Ulrich.
Obey your master!
-
Heh...
-
Unconsciousness Clarification
If your character is deemed 'unconscious' because you didn't update him/her for three days, don't worry! This isn't a penalty. This is just an attempt to explain why your character isn't doing anything. You don't have to do anything upon returning from your leave of absence other than have your character sit back up before rejoining the fray.
On a related note, if you're politely waiting for the response of another character who hasn't been posting, after two days you may want to have your character take a stab at a passing NPC in the meantime, or at least tap his foot so we know you're still with us!
-
Hmm... strangely, unconsiousness should happen in case where we're clearly being attacked and don't respond to attack, not just because we stand around watching a fight!
-
Heh, that's true. But I wanted my character to interact with your group, which ment I would have had to wait as well. (Hey, it got you all to post, didn't it? Heh...)
-
He's got you there! Wink
-
Edited Xenai... Woke him up.
-
Name: Smith Darak
Level: 1
Gender: Male
Race: Humen
Age: 44
Job: Commander
Weapon:
Double Edged Axe
Alliance: Dark Empire Survivors
Description: He stands nearly seven feet tall, he has a scar along his eye, brown skin, and long dark hair. He speaks in a deep voice.

They were attacked by monsters, that may be hideing in the caves, under the town. He realises there may be no more hope for the Dark Empire, yet he prays that the Empire will rise again.
-
Name: Lars Draven
Level: 3
Gender: Male
Race: Human (?)
Age: 25
Job: Ex High General
Weapon: none
Alliance: Dark Empire
Description:
Standing just under six feet tall, Draven has long black hair tied back at the shoulder and a piercing glance. His armor, black with red trim, is light and flexible. His gloves and boots are dark brown. His cape, dark red on the inside and black on the outside, sports a four-winged dragon insignia shaped out of red lines on the back-- the insignia of the Dark Empire.
Bio:
The overly pompous Draven lead the menacing army that destroyed Romme. He knows basic spells in other elements and some black magic, but his true passion, his obsession rather, is fire magic. He commands the fire element with devastating ease. He does not use a physical weapon, but sometimes likes to form a blade of fire to use as a sword.
In chapter 1:
Draven displays his absolute will to command at several points. He had several battles with the traitor Scorch, who quickly became his rival. In addition to his crimson blade attack, we see a massively destructive gargantuan fireball he conjures when angry, he trademark aura of flame that surrounds him as he gathers more energy, and the ability to levitate himself.
In chapter 2:
Draven receives a message from his emperor and time is running out to find the sword he seeks, but he manages to keep his cool (well, not really?). He has an encounter with a general from the rival nation of Aritan and later meets a new obstacle in his quest for the sword, namely the demi-human Zeros?. After a battle, Draven obtains a fake sword from Zeros? and returns to his ships to await the arrival of the Dark Emperor, totally oblivious to the fact that the real one is still out of his reach.
In chapter 3:
Draven feels the pressure as he competes with the two other newly arrived high generals, Jayce and Neptra to obtain the real sword. His determination is his downfall, however, as he endlessly fights against all who stand in his way, eventually completely wearing himself out. His final match is with Scorch, which ends in a sort of draw, with Draven's lifeless body sinking into the depths of the ocean...
Interlude:
Draven does not know what happened during the days, weeks perhaps, he spent drifting in the sea. He had odd visions: a fiery cave, frozen tundra, memories of his parents... He awoke on a beach near Tjed. Somehow he felt more alive than ever... or was he...? Draven has found that this near death experience has only made him stronger...
Somehow the emperor and the other generals had been defeated during the past weeks... the Dark Empire was in chaos. But Draven was the highest ranking survivor, making him the rightful heir to the throne, though he had no relation to Retan... But still, best to gather information first. Draven donned dark robes and went around calling himself 'Lars', attempting to assess the situation.
-
Oh well. Oh well. Damn.
-
Hah! Told ya you shouldn't have quit the RP! Razz Laughing
-
Name: Scumfreeze

He dosen't nessicarly like the slight peace with the Ice Warriors, and wishes to crush the town surrounding there hide out.
-
I think this one went better than chapter 3. A lot more story and less fighting made it more interesting. What are people's thoughts on the new rules? Any comments or suggestions for chapter 5?
-
Hmm... I think you should let us have an unlimited amount of levels to despense upon FOUR characters, but maybe make it so we can only have 1 level 3 character. Others have to be level 1 or 2. Switching points from character to character got kind of annoying when Armic did something to improve himself. Always had to kill a character, knock Nevina out or something, lol.
-
That sound like a good idea. *nods in agreement*
Then of course their is still a possibility for a character to become LEVEL 4, but no major events happened yet to accept the position yet, right?
The major event in Chapter 5 is gonna be the destroying of the weapons. I just have a feeling.
-
Hmm, yes. Okay, I'll tweak the whole level rules thing then, unless anyone else has any objections.
No, I don't think anyone's done anything to deserve level 4 status just yet. Do people still like the level 4 idea? Although I'll probably leave that detail as it is, since we've yet to try it out.
-
So, would I be able to have 2 level 2 characters and a level 3? Because I might have an idea for a level 3 guy, but I more so have one for a level 2.
But I say perhaps the level and character sytem could have something to do with teams. Like you can't have 4 level ones and 2 level twos, all with the Crimpson Empire.
Oh yeah, and I noticed that the good guys don't have a team name, there all just, Neutral or something, it's Neutral versus Crimpson Empire, or NoTeam versus Crimpson Empire.
-
We could do something like R.A. (Romme Avengers, Romme Army...), Rebels, ect.
Something about getting revenege on the Dark...err Crimson Empire would suffice, I think.
-
Romme Avengers, sounds good, anyone else have an opinion?
-
Sounds a bit gypsy to me Smile

You have no say! YOU left! Razz
-
He could always rejoin you know...
-
I think he should!
-
The system we used this time around seemed to work very well. While a change might work very well, it might ruin things. The system is not broken, we have no need to fix it.
-
To quote Macon, "Why stray from the simple, old path, the one that has given us happiness..?"
If he had his way, America wouldn't have canals, railroads, and certainly not automobiles and airplanes. Razz
Nor an education system, I might add. Laughing
-
So are you saying we should, or we shouldn't? Because that was confusing, with the use of old quotes and the word "nor".
-
Not a "fix", but a tweak. If I didn't tweak the rules every chapter, we wouldn't have a point system at all (heh...). I think I'll make some minor adjustments. I'll try to get the signups/rules up this weekend. If not, they'll be up by next weekend.
-
I hope it's this weekend. I'm dieing to show you guys the HM Renders of my characters, and profiles, for some werid reason. Razz
