Just some details the game is alot like FFT, Iv pretty much got all the story board and grapics done I just need some one who is experienced with the program and code.

I also have alot of questions as well. Like why do the characters move so dang fast is there a way to slow down their movement and stuff like can I have item based skills and such. Well if anyone is interested or has questions about payment please reply or email me at matthewleodemers@hotmail.com.

What exactly do you need programmed?

If you want a tactical BS, I'll try to assemble it for you...and my fee is rather low:

$5 per *.prg file required (iow, for every ~2000 lines of code, that's $5)

2000 lines of coding is pretty much. I'll bet I cpould do a tactical BS that is smaller... Razz

Depends on the options he wants...does he want limit breaks and a time system? Does he want a 3d tactical battle system, or just a 2d one?

Payment?
Does $200,000,000 per file sound good? Laughing
Yeah, in my WILDEST dreams....
Anyway, the payment would (REALLY) be about $___________________.

Okay let me give you the full break down and we will see if you guys are interested. The system is not simple. Its isometric during battles and maps. The battle system is a little complicated. im the graphics man so all i need programmers since my code is weak.

The battle system deepy resembles Star Ocean 2 for PS. The player has control of one player while the others have a AI that you can set, resembles FFT's AI choise for Chara. Ex. "Run like Chicken", "Protect Ally" etc.. you get the point. Like FFT there is a class system, but unlike FFT players are not stationary on panels they move freely on the isometric board. The "basics", walk, attack, defend, and jump cen be done by pressing a key on the keyboard. As for using the characters skills, you have to go to the main battle menu, which can be anything a key or maybe right click. When that happens the screen turns grey and a sword cursor floats over the character that is directly controlled by the player, that chara will be in color. (Any chara with the curosr over it is colored while the non selected chara are in black and white.) Once you decide that character you want to select it goes to that characters individual battle menu.

The chara's battle menu has their stats, skill list, equipment, and magic list. Rather simple. Once you are in the battle menu you can choose to use the charas magic or skills. Skills require Sp. Sp is gained by normal attacking (alot like Legend of Dragoon for PS). It's all rather complicated so far I hope your with me.

I can give further details if you just email me questions.

Continuing with the battle system. When the player selects the skill or magic then alot like FFT the range is affected by panels. For Ex. a skill might have a range of 1H (Horizantal),2V (Vertical) 1Hi (height) and 0Dp (Depth).  I can eleborate on that later.

As for skills. There are three types of skill this deeply resembles FFT.

1. Attack Skills: Causes Physical Damage to Target(s)
2. Support Skills: Skills that support the Chara. Ex. "Ignore Gravity" Add's Float
3. Reaction Skill: SKills that are triggered and cause a reaction Ex. "Hp Restore" Trigger: Hp Cristical. When Hp is critical Hp is restored 100%. this works on a percentage each time the skill is triggered the success rate drops like 5-10%.

A single Chara is allocated  1 Support Skill and 1 Reaction Skill this can change if chara obtains certain accessories. Also a chara has a primary class and secondary class like FFT.

Alot I know, if you have further questions email me at matthewleodemers@hotmail.com

I guess I could try to formulate the rang calculations.  Should take a month or so.  Yikes this is going to be challenging!!   Jeepers  Razz !!

Did you use the TK for gfx or some 3D prog???

*hoping like hell that he used the TK*

I use alot of 3D programs for character design and alot of the board design. And yah it is a major challenge. Im thinking of using a different program besides RPGTK. But I don't know yet.

Hey Matt, I would just like to know what language the BS is in anyway, because this doesn't sound like it can be done with RPGCode.  I can get books and whatnot so I can write the stuff (hey with this game, I might not have to go to college for programming  Razz ).  It might have to wait til late Nov, though.  i mean not just for me but for you too (room to think).  Good luck and tell me when you make the final decisions, or do you want me to start working on the RPGCode version anyway??

I haven't particulalry decided about the language though not using RPGCode is seeming to be good idea since this game might be a little too complicated for it. Anyway I'll let you know when i decide before late nov. Thanks AlienDude.

Nah, it's versatility can match all the big languages, it's just it's speed, which shouldn't even be too much of a problem, if one at all, in a battle system such as the one you described.

Allright lets go ahead and go on a tour of the MS Im preposing. This is a very simplified mock up of what it will look like. Some of the graphics are my own and some are ripped.

The Main Menu

The Main Menu is pretty simple to navigate the options are clear and quite obvious. You have CHARACTER SELECTION, SAVE & LOAD, TUTORIAL, and OPTIONS.

We’ll start at the top of the menu working down starting with the CHARACTER SELECTION, which is the most extensive and will require a lot of code. As mentioned this is just a brief and rather simplified explanation. Im still doing a lot of work on it, since you’re the programmer tell what things will be very difficult and perhaps we can work our way around those problems.

B]Character Selection[/B]

This is the CHARACTER SELECTION, this allows you to choose a character and use their personal character menu. Some times different characters have different menus depending on their job class. I’ll get more into detail about that later.

The cursor is depicted by a sword, the when the cursor is over a character their face shot and their vital stats are displayed in the upper left hand corner as the picture shows. Once you have decided whom you wish to select, you press whatever button and you end up in their personal character menu.

Character Status

The Character menu works like pages in a book the first page is obviously the CHARACTER STATUS page. This page is a little self-explanatory. Though there is alot more I need to add to it. your suggestions are highly appreciated.

Pretty nifty.  I suppose you know how to manipulate hexidecimals Razz .  Look towards Betrayal in Antara/Betrayal at Krondor for some world map ideas.  Esp. Antara.  Based on the specs, we might not be able to do this with the TK, no way, well, no yet.  I propose we make a series of short games meant to test a single property, or a small group of properties, of your proposal.  And I would suggest you do a lot of recearch into what language was used in the MS's of games like Daggerfall, Saga Frontier 2, & even Antara.  I would also suggest that if the segmented idea doesn;t fly, tht this could wait will next year because I might start college in sept at UAT.  The resources that will be at my fingertips then will help you greatly.  Anything to help a friend in need.  Perhaps my Phantas may be of help when it is finished (probably late Jan.).

THough I could exhaust the resources from the local library.  Wink
Also I know of a person who is well versed in computer languages and I will give him your E-mail addr. to see if that will help.  He's on the RM2k forums.

ALso, I know of a few people that can write runes and I'll give them a buzz in the near future.

I recently bought Star OCean 2.  NICE!!  Back to prgging...

Also I have the TK3 Source Code  Very Happy
