Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone. Vampz and the rest of the dev team has finally released the much anticipated 3.0.5 version of TK3. Make sure you grab it at The Toolkit Zone.
PS - Apparently there have been some problems with getting 3.0.5 to work. I have not experienced these problems myself, but if you are having these problems, The Dev team is working hard to get them fixed. Please be patient, and stay tuned to this forum/site, or www.toolkitzone.com for more info.

though i doubt it fixed my problem, I'll try it anyway. Smile

This release was really cool. Found some bugs..
-
Word! I'll be sure to download it eventually!
-
And to think it was generally believed by some to dead a year ago...

People's problems seem to be with installing. There have been two clear solutions to most problems; [1] close all programs before installing, [2] restart then install.
A lot of people posted straight away attacking the Toolkit, but their woes were solved with one of the above two methods. Nothing to do with the Toolkit itself.
Happy game making.

Well, I'll probobly wait until the final version of TK3 will
be out to make games with it.
But thanks anyways!

Hmm.
It seems that at least for a long time I will not be able to use TK3, or play any games with it...
This sucks.

That could litterally be years. TK2 was in development for over 5 years, and probably would've been longer had it been open source. Because TK3 is open-source, it probably can't really have a true "final" version.

My problom seems to be that in install only installs a ReadMe with no read, only a me (That means there is no text).
I'll the the methods of installing, but dose that mean, I have to close down EVERY program, or just the ones on the start menu bar?
-
Have you tried rebooting your computer first, and trying to install immidiately after the reboot, before you've run any programs? If not, try that first. If it doesn't work, try closing down programs that are running in your system tray.

Dude Man installed fine.
Your problem is that the 9x notepad needs quotes around the file in its command line which we (read: Delano) forgot to put in Smile
Sorry

I don't give a sack of beans about the read me, the problom is, is that it's the only thing I get when installing it!
Is it supost to be a Zip file, or just the install file? Because I got the install file, and that's all...
EDIT: Never mind! I reinstalled it, didn't even have to reset or close stuff and it seems to be working great! I've always wanted a custom cursor. I'm hopeing to be able to make a game in this, I'm pretty sure I will be Wink . Good work!

well this sucks. tk3.0.5 installed fine for me, but ever since i got my comp fixed last week, no version of tk3 will work. i get an error message that says:
Could not initialize actkrt3.dll. Do you have actkrt3.dll, freeimage.dll, and audiere.dll in the working directory?
i have them in the working directory. any clues as to why this is happening?
EDIT: fixed. if anyone else has this error, install DirectX 9.0c.

Ehh, so what!? I'll be making games with TK for a long time hopefully.
