Welcome to Dark Age Legends, chapter 5 sign ups! Chapter 5 will pick up where chapter 4 left off, but due to the break in the action, this is an excellent point to jump in if you haven?t already. If you haven?t been following the story the entire way through, don?t worry. You are not expected to read the entire RP-- just the summary and guidelines below. However, if you never played in a forum RP before (particularly this one) you may want to read a random page or two in the middle to get a sense of how everything works. Current players should also read this, as there are some slight modifications to the chapter 4 rules.
Theme
A fantasy medieval type deal. Magic is encouraged. Technology should be low (but a few weird inventions are okay). Guns are permitted if you really want them, but they shouldn't be too effective.
Archives
The automatically updated <a href='http://darkage.mysticsoftware.net/dal/viewer.php?id=472' target='_blank'>DAL Archives</a> might be easier to read than the topic on this forum if you want look back at the story (it?s just a script that reads from the forum database and strips off all the signature, avatar clutter, etc.) This is useful if you want to save some pages to your harddrive.
You can also download the entirety of <a href='http://darkage.mysticsoftware.net/dal/DAL.zip' target='_blank'>chapters 1-3</a> in a single ZIP file (400 KB). (I don't have chapter 4 in there yet.)
Background Story (Chapter 4 prelude)
Romme has disappeared into nothingness, along with the Dark Emperor Retan, his own son-- the only heir to the Dark Empire, the two other highest ranking officers, and countless others? In but a flash the entire ruling class of the sprawling militant nation has vanished in a spell gone awry.
One month has passed since the events at Romme. The endless battle for territory has ended. Without its leaders, the Dark Empire, encompassing nearly half of the world, ceased its wars on its neighbors. Finally peace was at hand, for those battling against the empire, at least? for a new sort of chaos erupted within the once powerful nation?s borders. Without a clear heir to the throne, the minor officers began to bicker. Massive civil war erupted. The sprawling mainland of the Dark Empire-- Terius, a continent spanning nearly 1,000 miles across, has literally been split into hundreds of tiny factions, the former officers now assuming the roles of local warmongers, each grabbing a city or two for themselves. It is a time when only the strong survive?
The city of Laus, located at the very southern tip of a peninsula of Terius, was the only stronghold against the Dark Empire on the entire continent one month ago. Now with the threat of invasion gone, pirates and thieves from across the world are flocking to this city, anxious to trek northward into the former empire?s mainland and take advantage of the chaos, lured by the thought that it is impossible for such a conquering nation not to have vast reserves of gold?

Chapter 4 summary -- coming soon (?)
Dark Age Legends Rules v1.41
There are two types of people in the RP: characters and NPCs.
You can have up to four active characters (who you'll set up here). These are your characters and your characters alone. No one can control them but you.
Creating Characters
In an attempt to avoid stalemates and regulate battles better, characters are created a bit differently from the first three chapters. Every player has 5 character points. Each player can use between 1 and 3 points to create a character. The amount of points used corresponds to a character?s level. The higher the level, the stronger that character is (but, the stronger your characters are, the less characters you?ll be able to make, since you?ll use up more points). For example, you can have two level 2 characters and one level 1, one level 3 and one level 2 character, or five level 1 characters, etc. As long as your characters? levels add to 5, you?re fine. You don?t have to use up all your character points. How levels effect battles is explained below.
NPCs
NPCs are more flexible. Often you?ll see some soldiers, villagers, monsters, or other non important characters. Generally, anyone can create and use these characters. But if someone is using a NPC in a character like fashion, it?s probably best not to control it for them. Generally NPCs die off or leave the story in some way after a few posts, so posting them on the sign-up isn?t necessary.
Levels don?t apply to NPCs. Use your own judgment in determining how strong a NPC should be relative to your character.
Levels
Before, the results of all attacks were determined by the target of the attack. But in the event that two players both thought their characters should win, this lead to extremely drawn out stalemates (heh?).
The rules on the results of attacks remain the same, but these level rules affect the end result of battles.
In a battle, the character with the higher level has the right to win. The lower level character should concede after five or six posts (note that losing a battle doesn?t mean your character has to die). The levels are additive in handicap battles (battle of 1 vs. more than 1). The side with the highest sum of levels has the right to win. For example, a level 3 character should win against a level single 2 character, but should lose against four level 1 characters.
In a battle of equals (i.e. a level 2 character vs. another level 2, or one level 3 vs. three level 1?s, etc) there is no clear-cut winner. These battles will probably resemble battling in previous chapters more. Note that someone else jumping in on one side will definitely sway the battle in that side?s favor, though.
Your character?s abilities and description should correspond to his/her level. Some rough ideas of what a character of each level is:
Level 1: The most realistic characters. They probably know a few good spells or techniques, but have a lack of supernatural strength and powers. These characters are most likely going to want to avoid battling alone and seek out others to team up with (RPG party, anyone?)
Level 2: Members of this class usually have attained some powerful skills and are much more effective warriors. Perhaps there is some supernatural element in their strength or maybe they have much experience in the battlefield.
Level 3: The extremely destructive villains or the untouchable heroes. They have mastered many techniques and are extremely strong. They are nearly invincible in one on one combat. The only sure way to take them down is to overwhelm them with numbers? Still they should have a weakness or two, although what it is is not always obvious.
Remember: This is a story, not a game, and there are no winners or losers!
Increasing levels
You can increase your character?s level (up to level 3) if you have enough character points in reserve. For example, if you only created one level 2 character (keeping 2 points in reserve) and want him/her to become a level 3 at some later point. If you want to increase your character?s level, please do it in an interesting way (i.e. the character completes some sort of quest, etc.)
Beyond level 3
I will consider allowing a character to grow to level 4 on a case by case basis. The requirements for leveling up beyond level 3 is 1) The character must have existed for a full chapter beforehand and 2) The character must have successfully completed some sort of quest involving other players? characters as opposition. If you think one of your characters qualify, PM me an application stating why you think your character qualifies. If I approve it, I will then post those reasons for other players to consider along with a poll. If 75% of the players approve it, your character will be granted the extra level. Characters above level 3 still only count for 3 points in your character point total.
Swapping
You can make any one of your characters inactive at any time. Making a character inactive means that that character?s level points become available for you to either make a new character or make another one of your inactive characters active again. Remember that the sum of your active character?s level can not exceed 4.
Note that a character can only be swapped out and brought back once per chapter. After that, if you want to make that character inactive again, you can do so, but he/she will have to sit out for the rest of the chapter.
Methods of making a character inactive include making them fall unconscious, having them go to sleep, leave the action, etc.
Actions
Each character is limited to two "actions" per post. An action is something your character does. Some examples:
- Attacking another character
- Defending an attack
- Preparing an attack (i.e. for bigger than normal spells)
- Starting to walk/run/fly from one place to another
- Arriving on the scene
- Picking up an item
... etc. Basically use your own judgment. Conversation with other characters doesn't count (so you can talk as much as you want).
Charging Techniques and Levels
If a character takes more than one post to perform an attack, spell, etc., the number of posts taken before the attack is launched should be taken into consideration along with that character?s level. I.e. If a level two character prepares a fireball for 2 turns before launching it, it should not be blockable by a level 3 character (level 2 + 2 turns = 4) unless the level 3 character spent the previous turn preparing some sort of defensive technique (level 3 + 1 turn = 4).
Story events and nature of actions
As far as the story goes, anything can happen as long as it's in good taste and doesn't disrupt the flow of the RP. The only restriction is that you don't control other players' characters. i.e. If you throw a fireball at someone, you let them decide whether they get hit by it or not.
Travel
Try and be realistic in the amount of time it takes to get to one place from another. You should never leave one area and arrive in the next in the same post. Places that are farther away should take more posts to get to. I'm not going to spell out the distances between each place we've been to so far, so use your own judgment.
Be descriptive! Especially when you're entering a place of your own design. Try and build off of other posters' descriptions as well. This is important, as it?s easier to tell what?s going on if you know where you?re at.
Posting
There is a limit of two ?updates? per day. An update is a post that contains any actions for any of your characters. The only exception is a post that contains only dialogue, i.e. if your character is just talking to another character.
On the other hand, try and stop in to update at least once a day!
Three day rule: If you are fighting someone and your opponent doesn?t post for three days, assume they were hit by your attack and knocked unconscious (heh?)
Limitations
No unbounded instant teleportation. If they have the ability, characters can only teleport for short distances, and even that should be used sparingly. No instant transmission from one place to a totally different one.
Comments
Comments not part of the flow of the RP should be made obvious by placing them in between parentheses or slashes, etc. Try and keep commenting to a minimum. Major questions should be asked on this topic, rather than in the middle of the RP.
Try and refrain from quoting other posts unless absolutely necessary, since they just look bad and disrupt the flow of the RP.
Reading
It is important to read every post of the RP since your last post, and perhaps a page or two before the current point if you?re just signing up. In order to create a coherent world, we all need to know what is going on with everyone else, even if what other characters are doing on the other side of the world don?t immediately affect your own.
Though the rules are long, they are probably not as long as the collective posts the RP receives on a good day. <span style='color:red'>Chances are if you?ve just skimmed though the above rules and jumped to this line you are not cut out for this RP.</span>
(Heh?)
Character signup
To start, post your characters in this thread. Continuing chapter 4 players should repost their characters as well. Include the following information:
Name:
Level:
Gender:
Race: Can be pretty much anything
Age:
Job:
Weapon(s): plus a description, if necessary
Alliance: Could be a kingdom, tribe, cult, etc. (or no one at all!)
Description: Physical appearance
Bio: A short background. Perhaps just his/her immediate past, but can be more in depth if you want.
Chapter 1, 2, 3, 4 Bio: If your character was in any previous chapters, give a short description of what he/she did in each.
I'll be sticking with my one character for now:
Name: Lars Draven
Level: 3
Gender: Male
Race: Human (?)
Age: 25
Job: Ex High General, now self-proclaimed Emperor
Weapon: none
Alliance: Himself
Description:
Standing just under six feet tall, Draven has long black hair tied back at the shoulder and a piercing glance. His armor, black with red trim, is light and flexible. His gloves and boots are dark brown. His cape, dark red on the inside and black on the outside, sports a four-winged dragon insignia shaped out of red lines on the back-- the insignia of the Dark Empire.
Bio:
The overly pompous Draven lead the menacing army that destroyed Romme. He knows basic spells in other elements and some black magic, but his true passion, his obsession rather, is fire magic. He commands the fire element with devastating ease. He does not use a physical weapon, but sometimes likes to form a blade of fire to use as a sword.
In chapter 1:
Draven displays his absolute will to command at several points. He had several battles with the traitor Scorch, who quickly became his rival. In addition to his crimson blade attack, we see a massively destructive gargantuan fireball he conjures when angry, he trademark aura of flame that surrounds him as he gathers more energy, and the ability to levitate himself.
In chapter 2:
Draven receives a message from his emperor and time is running out to find the sword he seeks, but he manages to keep his cool (well, not really?). He has an encounter with a general from the rival nation of Aritan and later meets a new obstacle in his quest for the sword, namely the demi-human Zeros?. After a battle, Draven obtains a fake sword from Zeros? and returns to his ships to await the arrival of the Dark Emperor, totally oblivious to the fact that the real one is still out of his reach.
In chapter 3:
Draven feels the pressure as he competes with the two other newly arrived high generals, Jayce and Neptra to obtain the real sword. His determination is his downfall, however, as he endlessly fights against all who stand in his way, eventually completely wearing himself out. His final match is with Scorch, which ends in a sort of draw, with Draven's lifeless body sinking into the depths of the ocean...
Interlude:
Draven does not know what happened during the days, weeks perhaps, he spent drifting in the sea. He had odd visions: a fiery cave, frozen tundra, memories of his parents... He awoke on a beach near Tjed. Somehow he felt more alive than ever... or was he...? Draven has found that this near death experience has only made him stronger...
Somehow the emperor and the other generals had been defeated during the past weeks... the Dark Empire was in chaos. But Draven was the highest ranking survivor, making him the rightful heir to the throne, though he had no relation to Retan... But still, best to gather information first. Draven donned dark robes and went around calling himself 'Lars', attempting to assess the situation.
In chapter 4:
Under the guise of Lars, Draven tried to disrupt the trust among those who fought against the Dark Empire a month ago. After this seemingly failed, he began to recruit warriors for his cause, forming an alliance with two Ice Warriors and the dark priest Armic.
With his new recruits, the shrouded Lars broke into a former Dark Empire facility and made off with a state of the art black magic powered airship. Soon the group caught the attention of Haraldur, to whom Draven revealed his true identity. When the others caught wind of what was happening, a massive battle in the sky ensued in which the two Ice Warriors were killed. Outnumbered, Draven escaped in his airship along with the newly transformed Armic.

The bright markings on him are on purpose (Yet, there still a GIF side effect)
He's about a foot tall. He's really miscivious, and likes to pop up in places. Physically he has the strength of a baby, that worked out, but he is very quick and slightly powerfull. He has a badass adutidue, we'll say. He has a voice like Impmon, from Digimon, if anyone has seen that. He's a very impish fellow, you know, being an Imp and all.
Bio: When Armic opens the gate and the deamon warriors charged out. Rink desided to check and see what was going on. So he flue out and examined around. Oddly he was able to stay in the world, because of his unimporantance in Hell. So far he was learned that the 6 weapons are lost in this world, and two teams are wageing war over them. He never really liked liveing in hell so much, but he wouldn't mind gaining rank if he found the weapons. He could be good? He could be bad? After plunging into the waterl and finding the Destiny Temple (Just a name) where it depitcs the last battle form Romme as well as the Dark Empire and Romme emperor, they find the legendary staff, but not without the hardships of fighting off one of the Balrogs from hell. Zeros' and his teams soon find a plaque telling the direction of the legendary weapons.
Now, after the Destiny Temple, Zeros' and his team head towards the remains of Duilin's village in hopes of finding another one of the weapons, but they meet with the remains of the Dark Empire. After another brief encounter, two of the remaining soldiers lead the party down into a hanger where Duilin receives the legendary mace after a tussle with the undead.
Now, having four of the weapons in possession, the team heads back towards Laus, where they all head in different directions. Zeros' goes towards the direction the Zero Weapon is coming in, menace that was once thought long destroyed.
After a battle with that, and the help from Tsu, Xenai and Zion, they manage to seal it away, removing the evil taint and allowing Xenai to reprogram it. They all fly towards the position of the air ship, where no other then his old nemesis, Draven, has revealed himself.
Armic, a priesy for Qor, manages to fuse with the ancient god that Genma and himself sealed long ago, returns for vengence and ends up summoning demons from the underworld. Zeros' and the others fight these off, but not without knocking Nevina unconcious from the dark tain and Kami-Ryu for injures.
Draven and his party leave as Zeros' carries Ryu back to Laus, where they meet with Duilin and proceeded to fight a quick battle with Scumfreeze after Haraldur find them.
Now exhausted, he puts Ryu on a bed to rest and rest himself.

Name: Kami-ryu
Level: 1
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 19
Job: Ninja.
Weapon: Two dragon swords, kunai and various other ninja items.
Alliance: Zeros'
Description: He wore an elaborate cloak over himself, drapped in the darkest black ever imaginable. It reached to his hands, covering them when he stood in a neutral stance. The cloak also reached to his feet, where there were no shoes. His face was made non-existant as thehood covered the top of his head, while a shadow cast across his face.
Two swords hung, strapped on the left side of him. Both swords were equally long and slightly curved, the shape of the standard katana. The hilt consited of a black roaring dragon on either hilt, one with sapphire eyes, the other with ruby. The sword guard consited of pure gold, as well as the end of the sheath- which was also black.
His face was definitly American. He had dark green eyes, although only one was shown, his right eye. The left side of his face was covered in clean bandages, starting just below his left ear, going diagnolly up to the right to his forehead, stopping in the middle. His hair was a short brown, spiked ever so slightly, as to add to the indimidation. His mouth had a scar starting at the bottom of his nose, across his lips and ending at the cleft of his chin.
If the young person extended his right arm, he would reveal a metallic arm. The arm might have resembled a real limb, if the right color, except for places where the metal work was obvious, such as bolts and some places where there needed to be gaps in the metal work. If he extended his left leg, it revealed a metallic leg, looking exactly like the other metallic limb, shined to perfection.
If the young man turned around, he would reveal a spetacular golden dragon symbol, ragging and twisting on his back. He also stood about 5 feet.
Bio: Kami-ryu is a young ninja, who swore alligence to his master. Recently, hositlites between two clans. Kami was the head ninja of the clan he swore alligence to, he would do anything; the opposing clan happened to be one that his first love resided to. The day before, he had proposed to his love and she greatfully accepted.
The following day, his master swore war to the other clan. Kami-ryu was struck with greif, not wanting to destory his true love. His master threatened him with the acts of treason and sepukku. Kami reluctently agreeded and so continued the battle.
A long a arduious battle took blace betweem the to clans. A long and bloody battle raged on for hours, the last two members of each clan left to battle; Kami-ryu and his true love.
Both were struck with greif, but they reluctently battled agianst each other, Kami-ryu winning in he end, but not without his own injuries. The battle cost him his right arm and left leg. Zeros' managed to come by just in the nick of time and managed to craft the metal limbs and bind them with magic to Kami's body. After that, Kami took what he could scavenge from the battle, his cloak a reminder of his pain and the swords a family heirloom.
Kami kept his ninja heiratige, he swore he would never alliance himself with another, expect his current master and his family, Zeros'. He took up another postion of a long forgotten trade of alchemy and soon became the only living master.
Chapter 4: (See Zeros' Chapter 4)
While Zeros' goes after the Zero Weapon, Ryu heads with Duilin towards the air ship. There, he and Duilin head above the ground, where he glides onto the ship and right into a battle with the Frost Bros.
After a lengthy battle with Bite, killing him, and Frost, he heads into the crontro room in hopes of stopping the air ships acent. He makes it and tries to destroy it, but a possessed Armic stops him from doing so, making him only hit the device once.
Now weakened from his injuries and almost out of ki and chakra, Ryu barely stumbles off the ship, but Zeros' manages to catch him before he can plumet to his death.

Name: Armic a' Kahrr
Level: 3
Gender: Male
Race: Human/God Merge
Age: 42
Job: Dark-Cleric
Weapon(s):
-o-:Long Sword: Blade black in color, hilt made of Silver, this weapon is oddly light and is decorated with strange runes. Qor's curse swarms over it.
-o-:Staff: This Staff is made of an ancient wood, solid black in color, the head is golden and embedded with a blood red gem at it's top. The bottom jags and is coated in an odd metal, coming to a tip.

Description: This man's silver hair drapes over his face gracefully, covering a red eye. He is pale, and his skin feels deathly cold, but smooth. His lips are deep red, and vampiric teeth show in his mouth. His chest is covered in a Black coat on the left side, under it a chain mail shirt rests upon his creast. In his black coat rests a book, bound human skin. On his other side, no coat, only the chain mail. From his waist, a cloath belt hangs, a flag, white in color, with a siver pendant, the sign of Qor, hangs past his knees. His black pants come to the top of his black boots gradually, and on his left leg, he is covered in black leather straps.
-[Changes after his merge with Qor]-:
A near perfect blend of God and Mortal. He opened his eyes, red fire emitted from his optical orbs, which were pitch black. He waved his hair out of his face, revealing gray, corpse-like skin. Yet it was rock solid. Lumps began to strain on the top of his cranium, and on his back. Then outbursted horns. Somewhat blunt, and only about 1 1/2" long, they only added to his fearsome look. From his back emerged wings. Glorious red wings, 4 feet in length each, gave him an overall wingspan of 9 feet. He folded his wings, crossed his arms, and as he spoke, 2 voices spoke, in eerie unisen, "We're Ready..."
Bio: The man knows nothing of his past, and remembers only trouble, and Qor. The God Qor, comforting him in his despair. He swore his alliance to Qor, and now works only to spread Qor's work, andbring forth the worlds destruction, fo after the brink has past, only Qor will exist, and the creation of the world will be redone into Qor's perfection.
Chapter 4 Bio: Awoke from his grave, had a brief encounter with Kismet and Company, before joining Lars. He descended to Hell and merged with the God Qor, and helped Lars get the Airship.
Name: Nevina Seev
Level: 2
Gender: Female
Race: Jin Elf (A race I made up. She's the last of the species. They have a milienium long life span and never get old looking. They tend to be very proficient in White Magic.)
Age: 179 human years (Still very beautiful, Jin Elves stop aging at 17-23 human years)
Job: Jin Knight (A Lightly armored warrior who is proficiant in Curative/Holy magicks)
Weapon(s): A scimitar (The curved, arabic sword) and a Holy Dirk (A dagger), and a Holy Bastard Sword.
Alliance: Romme
Description: A Staggeringly beautiful Jin Elf. She is about 5 foot 6 inches and weighs about 102 pounds. She has Long, straight, Ocean Blue hair (Natural. Jins have odd hair colors). Her hair is about a foot past her shoulders and almost covers her eligant Elven Ears. Her Eyes are Silvery and beautiful, yet slightly creepy. Her skin is soft and has a light tan. She wears a white, tightly fitted tunic with no sleeves. On her neck she wears a silver chain with an odd looking pendant hanging from it. She wears a blue skirt that goes a little past her knees and from her waist hangs a bit of Red cloth with a golden crest in it. Under her skirt the Holy Dirk is tied to her leg. She wears wooden sandals on her feet.
Personality-wise, Nevina is very kind and consiterate. She hates injustice. She doesn't like to be under-estimimated just because she's a woman. She doesn't talk a lot unless she needs to, and she forgives people easily, if she feels they really are deserving of forgiveness, and holds very few grudges. A lot of times she likes to be left alone.
Bio: The Jin Elves lived on the Island even before the Romme Empire occupied it. The Jin Elves battled the Romme Empire when they found the Island, a very long time ago. The Jin Elves lost the Battle due to lack of man-power and shortage of resources.
Nevina was a warrior at the time of the war, and was a Well-Respected Commander. She was argueably the best warrior in the Jin Empire. She slew many Rommes in her days of service.
She holds no Grudges against the Rommes, as the 150 years of time has healed her emotional wounds. After the war, very few Jins were alive, and all of them with the exception of Nevina and two of the Jin elders were alive after a Plague brought over by the Rommes swept the Jin race. Even though the Jins are great white magicians, they did not know how to combat this plague. The Elders died about 60 years ago and since then, Nevina has lived alone. She did occasionally visit the Romme Villages, but kept to herself in the half-Ruined Jin Palace mostly, training her magic and physical prowess.
The Palace is to the far West of the island. The east wing is in ruins from time and battle, but The rest is intact and mostly good condition. The palace is made of Marble and closely resembles Arabic Palaces.
Chapter 2 bio: Nevina basically played Baby sitter for Zeros' children, Qeni and Zev. She has just resently joined with the Romme Resistance.
Chapter 3 bio: Didn't really do much, almost got killed, along with all of MotD's characters.
Chapter 4: Got knocked out a lot. Razz

I thought Armic grew wings and became all demon-ized when he merged with Qor. (Heh...)
We'll probably start up again this Sunday. (Who are we missing? Eon?)
-
Eon and Khan. I saw Khan on thew active members list, awile ago. I wonder where he got to...
But they aren't really mayjor characters, yet it wouldn't be good at all if they didn't sign up again...
-
too... much... homework
Oh well i'll manage.
Name: Kahn
Level: 1
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 21
Job: Pirate

Alliance: none
Description:

Bio: having been on his own for most of his life he became a pirate in order to survive. He works for any pirate crew willing to take him for short periods of time.
Although he never believed in magic, he's been told his dagger may contain some.
Chapter 4
After joining Ellenna and bieng hit by Armics fog, Kahn took Ellenna to a temple where he is now waiting.
-
Name: Zion Ultima
Level: 2
Gender: Male
Race: Human?
Age: 28
Job: Undistinguishable
Weapon(s): Eternity Weapon, a long but thin, light sword that radiates light.
Alliance: No one yet
Description: Zion has relatively short teal hair (Think Yusuke Urameshi with teal hair) and ice blue eyes. He stands at 6 feet tall and wears teal and white whenever he can. He is well built, but not huge and hulking (Think Yusuke again).
Chapter 3 Bio: Zion, having come upon Romme noticing that it was destroyed, felt around for any dark, significant auras. He found Draven, and ended up fighting him. It came out as a stalemate. After trying to deal with the Zero Weapon when Xenai summoned it, Retan showed up, and Zion apted to fight him. When he got to the ship he was on though, it was already gone, and helped Genma to destroy Neptra.
Chapter 4 Bio: Zion was suspicious of Zeros' near the beginning of the chapter. He took Tsu to visit Mugen Seijin, who taught him Bukujutsu (Flying), and then followed Zeros' around until Tsu was done. When Tsu returned, he and Zion went to Laus to research on the emblem on the back of Xenai's neck. They learned of Kurayami X, and destroyed it to re-awaken Xenai. Zion then spent 10 posts creating the Eternity Weapon, to help fight the Zero Weapon. After that, the 3 fighters really just hung around until the chapter ended, though they pretended to do stuff. Razz
Name: Xenai Omega
Level: 2
Gender: Male
Race: Human?
Age: 28
Job: Undistinguishable
Weapon(s): Zero Weapon, a huge Zanbatou-esque sword that radiates darkness.
Alliance: No one yet
Description: Xenai has big blue hair and wears a black headband (Think Sanosuke Sagara) and demonic red eyes. He stands at 6 feet tall and wears black and blue whenever he can. He is well built, but not huge and hulking (Think Sano again).
Chapter 3 Bio: Xenai did not do much, but he did many important things to sway the outcome of the chapter, like summoning the Zero Weapon, and then giving it to Retan while he charged the MDAA.
Chapter 4 Bio: Xenai spent half of his time in the chapter unconscious. After he finally woke up, he teamed up with Zion. Xenai's first interest was to reprogram the Zero Weapon, who would be unruly and obey no one, due to the ceased existance of the Dark Empire. He and Tsu held back the Zero Weapon until Zeros' and Zion showed up. They all fought and defeated the Zero Weapon, and then Xenai reprogrammed it.
Zion and Xenai Bio: These two were not intended to have the relationship of animosity that they had in Chapter 3. Rather, they were intended to work together, creating an unstoppable force of light and dark that worked together. But something was planted on Xenai when he was a child, and thus, he grew to be evil. He created the Zero Weapon when he was 16, and summoned it on Zion in an attempt to destroy him. Luckily, the Zero Weapon was but a prototype then, and Zion barely defeated it. Xenai would spend the next 10 years perfecting it. And he succeeded, creating an unstoppable demon that was capable of crushing small villages with a wave of its arm. Tsu has now removed the thing that was planted on Xenai. But will he turn out good when he returns to consciousness.
Name: Tsunan Nami (Tsu for short)
Level: 1
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 18
Job: Kuon-Jin (Hybrid of Warrior and Thief)
Weapon(s): Kuon Yaiba, a katana with both sides of the blade flat.
Alliance: No one yet
Description: See avatar. Make him look 18. Take his shades off. There you go. *Is lazy.*
Bio: Tsunan is a man who is very hard to get to know. No one can really describe him, except for those who have known him for a long time. He resents killing, which is apparent by his katana, where both sides of the blade are flat. He is always trying to break his limits, and he will keep going until all of his limits are gone. However, he's been a little afraid to do this, seeing as how he fears most of his more recent enemies.
Chapter 3 Bio: Tsu did little in the last chapter, but he helped with the wraiths when Retan was charging his MDAA, and removed the evil mark from Xenai right before the chapter ended.
Chapter 4 Bio: Tsu's first task was to learn Bukujutsu (Flying). After that, he helped Zion fight Kurayami X in order to wake up Xenai, and helped Xenai fight the Zero Weapon until Zion returned with his weapon. After that, he pretty much tagged along with his team.
The Eternity Weapon and Zero Weapon
===============================
Gems fused at the hilt of Zion and Xenai's swords allow them to summon the Eternity Weapon and Zero Weapon, respectively. First, 10 posts must be spent recharging the weapons. After that, the entire post is used to summon the weapon. It may be active for 3 posts once it's out. If Zion or Xenai should choose to merge with their weapon, they will spend an entire post doing so, and the charging time will increase to 15 posts.
Do the summoning rules still sound good?
-
He did look like a demon after the merge, but he wasn't a demon, he was a half-god. God+Human doesn't = Demon. XD That's like a Fish and a Fisherman giving birth to a hawk. XD
-
I meant that you didn't update how he looked (heh...)
Okay, let's start this thing...
-
Oh, yeah, of course... XD ::Fixeles::
-
Do people want to continue Dark Age Legends after chapter 5, or should we have this be the big climactic finale? I know I'm starting to run out of ideas (heh...)
-
Given my last post, which has set such a thing up, we might as well do so.
-
Yeah let it be the finale. It seems like a good time. Maybe after, we can do another RP of total ownage! Didn't Zeros' want to do a prequal?
-
I did start on one, yes, but I never finished. I was actually thinking about writing a sequal to DAL after everythings finished. It can include the characters that survive from DAL, as well as new ones.
-
Yeah, that would be cool. Because I have some ideas for characters in both a sequel and a prequal.
-

Did you just say new ones? And in a sequal? Huzzah!! ^_^
-
But the sequal wouldn't be on a message board though. I'd be in novel form, except I'd post them chapter by chapter.
-
Why not take the RP, and dress it up nicely as a novel?
-
Yeah? Wink
-
Its not that I don't want to, its just it would take months just for one chapter. This is because of the amount of content, as well as different people's writing styles. I'd have to organize everything so it flows smoothly from one line to the next.
Chapter 1 is at least more then 30 thousand words. I'd need to clean up everything, which not at least, includes the writing and spelling.
In my creating a sequal, written by one person, I'd be easier to understand then multiple people writing (I said writing, not inputting idea's) , all with different writing styles.

Holy shit! Now I know why!
In my creating a sequal, written by one person, I'd be easier to understand then multiple people writing (I said writing, not inputting idea's) , all with different writing styles.
Hmmm, how exactly would that work?
-
What? That's no fun. We need another DAL RP after this. Novels are boreing. <_<
-
Yes, and I like cheese....
-
Read Seor. Believe me, I've read some boring novels and it's certainly not one of them. (Heh...)
-
Hmmm, I never got that far in Deceit and Conquest (The Game.) all that much, so...
-
I am on my second reading of Seor, it is truly a great book. I never got further than the bit just after the briefing in D&C, it always crashes for me, which saddens me. And I cannot find out why because XP does not give the reason for the error, and it is powerhouse so files cannot be opened or modified with normal toolkit.
-
Yeah, that's exactly what happens to me. And I accually use XP when I play it.
Anyway, the point is, why can't there be another DA RP?
-
Because Xorlak has ran out of ideas for it. I'm thinking of makeing an RP of my own. Like, the DARP, but different.
-
If people want to, I guess we can go ahead with a chapter 6. Or maybe a different RP on a totally different storyline (just because I'm out of ideas, doesn't mean you people have to be. Heh...)
Deceit and Conquest uses a plugin that isn't compatible with Windows XP, so it will always crash before the first battle.
-
Sad
-
Ah, right, so that explains it. It is for the first battle. What was the plugin used for? Is it replaceable?
-
Yeah, what he said.
-
I'm not sure exactly, but I know some read/write plugins had issues with XP. I don't think there's any of that going on in battles, though.
(Maybe I should hack D&C, since I kind of want to play it again too. Heh...)
-
Hmmm, I'd say move this to RPG Code Shack, but this is obviously importent to Dark Age Legends. I guess... <_<
-
Yeah, you could because you have powerhouse. If you fixed it, it would be greatly appreciated by me.
-
Not having Powerhouse sucks, badly. But aw well, Xorlak will fix us the problem. He always does! (except for the time he wouldn't help with my BS, and was already working on DAX at the time.)
-
If people want to, I guess we can go ahead with a chapter 6. Or maybe a different RP on a totally different storyline (just because I'm out of ideas, doesn't mean you people have to be. Heh...)
Yeah, I supose I could come up with some ideas. Chapter 6 should take place a few years or so after Chapter 5 however. Cause I got a cool idea for a new character, that I probally might not kill off. But who knows, I kill of characters faster then George Bush starts wars.
-
Same here.
-
Wait a second. You haven't even joined. (Heh...)
Yeah, you could because you have powerhouse. If you fixed it, it would be greatly appreciated by me.
I think the powerhouse version only protects boards. And it protects boards from other powerhouse editors as well.
As far as the crashing, it looks like G's Misc. Plugin is the problem. I tried removing it and was able to play a sort of half enabled battle (unfortunately, I think this is the plugin that gets things like enemy stats and the name of the board to send the player back to when the battle is over).
-
Wait a second. You haven't even joined. (Heh...)
I meant in other RPs. You still have yet to see the true power of Aminaga Ragtunos....
Also, there's a little friend I wan't you to meat who's (literrally) dying to get killed off.
Toughy Toughy: Hey, I'm tough. Tougher then all of you, cause I'm tough. In fact I'm so, soooo tough......that I'm tough!!
*Starts showing off muscles.*
-
That, is unfortunate. Oh, well.
-
What he said.
-
Heh, it never ends...
T'was another good chapter. I'm not sure if/when we'll be doing a chapter 6. We'll take a break for a few weeks and see where to go from there.
-
Rule 10: Do not reply to threads that have not had any replies in 15 days.
Heh. Joking...
So, it's over, eh? Be sure to keep a close eye out for a possible 6th chapter....
-
My forum, my rules, kiddo. (Heh...)
Also, I might create an entirely different RP, and come back to DAL later. We'll see...
-
lol Okay...
-
Ah, frack... I didn't get to properly exit my characters... I guess sleeping might do.
-
Heh, I guess my ending was okay, throwing a rock and skipping it across a pond.
But yes, I agree that we should make a DAL2. I thinking of retireing Duilin and makeing a fresh new character. I'm thinking of makeing Duilin start up like some Temple, worshiping Haraldur or Zeros' or something, and one of his apprentices takes over. If we do make a DAL2, it should take place a few years after.
-
Hehe, worshiping Haraldur? That would be quite appropriate, considering what happened to him, and what I might use him again for.
-
Worshipping Zeros'....heh. That's ironic, considering he's the offspring of a god and demon. And if you haven't figured it out already, Zeros' father worked under Qor and his mother was Gaia, the spirit of Midgard and Earth.
-
Yet, you have to realize, that Duilin is also Half Demon. Yet that just depends on say, Zeros' dies [Yet I dought that considering he's the hero], and then Duilin wishes to honor him. [Like how Jesus' friends worshiped him after he died]. Yet this just an idea of what Duilin does after.
-
Ugh, is that why Zeros' is trying to do everything himself? Who let him become the main hero? >_< Iduran died, there should be no one main hero!
-
Why did Haraldur become the main bad buy? All through Chapter 5, Draven took a back seat. And yes that's why Zeros' wants to do everything himself. He wants to protect his mother's planet.
-
I think it's fine that Zeros' is the main hero. It should be either Zeros' or Duilin considering they have been around the longest, but Zeros' shouldn't do everything himself. What we need is more villains, like, the final battle should have, Draven, some other main villian and a large army, we should also try and get the good guys to come up with an army. I liked it when it was Romme and Dark Empire wageing war.
I've got an idea for a 'not so' new bad guy.
-
I hope Haraldur was not the average villain? Was he so?
Like Draven, he might "come back from the dead". After all, I thought it would all end with chapter 5.
-
I don't think Haraldur was the average villain. Draven was sorta, but he made a good villain.
Well anyways, I hope in the final battle or something, Duilin will get to fight an actual character that's not one of mine, because so far, none of my characters have killed anyone else's. Sure, Duilin, killed Phoenix and Darion, but those were my characters. But Zeros' and Haraldur killed a few of my characters, Frost, Bite, Nex. I killed the rest of them off myself, merely because I got bored of them.
Also, it was dumb when people dropped out; by having stupid ways of there characters getting killed off [wave of destruction coming from nowhere, skin disease, spontaneous human combustion?] If anyone wants to drop out of the RP, could they at least have a sensible way of killing him or her off?
-
Heh, in response to the "main" hero or villain. It's everyone who decides that, not just whoever controls that one character. I'll admit I toned down Draven a bit due to waning interest in the RP and I wanted other players to move the story along. Haraldur and Zeros' took main spotlights because everyone (including me) let them. Not a bad thing. I thought it turned out rather nicely.
I hope Haraldur was not the average villain? Was he so?
Don't think so. I know I never knew what he was going to do next. (And he threw off what I was planning for Draven at least a dozen times. Heh....)
-
I think I'd like to take more action next time, with the story. Maybe reveal the mystrey of Duilin's father, and his connection with Nex, Rink and the Empire.
-
Ah, good. I prefer it when the "villain" is not just an evil or ambitious person, but someone who is "damaged" or vengeful or mentally abnormal, or all three! I hope that some of that was portrayed. Heh, like his bloodlust.
-
Heh, I think all of that was portrayed to the fullest extent.
-
Ah, good.
