Title: (no subject)
Post by: Aminaga on February 22, 2005, 03:21:01 PM
I've accually been wondering how to do this for quite a long time now.

Okay, I'm currently using the unregistered TK2 to make The Blade of Champion, and because it can't play MP3s, it can't play WAV files either! And I know it's possible, because I saw it happen in other games in unregisted TK2 without having to play it in #MidiPlay()?!!11one

P.S. Please don't make fun of me for asking this. I'm still sorta getting used to the loops and varibles of RPG Code. lol

Have you tired #Wav? I think that works.

I accually got Unregistered TK2 to play an MP3. In TBW2, I don't how it just worked...I think. At the end it's supost to play Wood Chuck by Goldfinger or something, it works when I play it.

wav() is broken in 2.20b. MP3Pause() will work, but it'll also stop _everything_.

Then there's the option where everyone wins: upgrade to TK3.

Dude Man: I tried wav once before I posted this topic, and I think it either
1: Didn't work.
2: Works, but didn't let the MIDI keep playing.

KSNiloc: Well, I'm not going to try MP3 pause if it stops everything.
And no, I'm not going to upgrade to TK3 after all the hard work I did in TK2. Yet I am planning on making a remake in TK3 after I'm done with this one.

You can always use DragSound.

Okay, I'll go download it right now! Thanks!

EDIT: Ehh, what section do you select plugins? I don't remember using one before.

Try the plugins section, I think there are plugins there, yet I'm not sure. Razz

Dude Man: I already downloaded it, but where do I "plug it in"? lol

The last version of TK2 has a bug with the #wav command. I have the version just before it with working #wavs, which I'll look for and upload for you (don't have the time at the moment, though...)

Upgrade down from the TK I have right now? Well, it's a big risk, but I guess that may be what I have no choice to do if that plugin won't work.

Erhm... yes...

Well, actually it's still version 2.20b (the current version was supposed to be a minor bug fix not a new version, but the #wav bug popped up along with it. And that other bug fix was only for powerhouse version owners, so don't worry about it). Basically everything will be the same except you'll have working #wavs.

Uploading now. I'll post when it's done.

Oh, and Xorlak, I was wondering if it was okay with you if I use one of your modified MIDIs from Dark Age in my game?

GO XORLAK! Now I don't have to use Dragsound! Very Happy Smile

Number Eight, you don't need to have either of those. You have the registered TK2, and thus don't need it.

Hmm. I seem unable to make it work without downgrading myself to the unregistered edition. Do you have an update file for it, Xorlak?

...but now I can't get Animations to work!!

Try taking the Trans2 from TK2.2 games where the waves work, such as DA2 or FFury. Ok, not DA2, that's full version TK2.

The wav problem isn't in Toolkit - It's in Trans2. So you just need the good Trans2.

So ya know, if you're talking to me, my wav problem is fixed(at last), but now I'm having trouble with animations!

Ugh. The update file doesnt work on my computer... Dr. Watson pops up and closes it.

EDIT: EoN, I have registered TK2. Would it be legal for me to take the trans2 from DA2?

I'm not sure a trans2 would work from a different powerhouse version. I think they have different serial numbers. Just disable your virus protection while you install the file.

DMM: Not sure about the animations. That's the version I use and they work fine for me. What exactly happens? (An error message?, nothing?, etc.)

Post by: Aminaga on February 25, 2005, 08:59:39 PM
An error in message. Therefore, it dosen't happen.

Try opening up an animation, re-saving it, then seeing if it'll play in-game or in the program editor.

I tried it in that program test thingy, but I don't remember trying it in the real game. Maybe I should.

Tried. Didn't work. But, the trans2 from DA2 seemed to work fine. The only thing is, I'm unsure about whether it would work for distributing the game.
