I wouldn't call you a noob, you have been around longer then most people have anyways. Yet the title of your topic made me thing "Oh great another friend of DMM"

(No offience to DMM, just his clan of merry men useally have intro topics like "I want a soda!" or "Bow down to me mortals!" or something like that)

I belive I've been around the community for a few years, I've been Dude Man for over a year. I was Galaton for awile, yet I never posted much. <_<

oh, you mean whenever it all with purple background, I remember that. I ask someone on TKZ (when it was still rpgtoolkit.com.) were I could find cool rpgcode programs. that?s when they dirtied me here. Back then it was rpgcodeshack.com I think. Then I tried to come here again and it sent me here. I didn?t know were I was, so I got scared and turned the browser off. Two weeks later I would come to find out that this WAS rpgcodeshack.com only now it was mysticsoftware with a .net at the end...oh no! I'm talking too much. I'll shut up now and listen

Post by: Dude Man on May 04, 2005, 08:16:28 PM
Heh. Well accually Biocore, RPGCode shack is a part of Mystic Software, just it was a seperate site at the time. Then the admins PHPed the site, or something like that, (whatever it's called) and then made the shack accually part of the site. These fourms have been here longer then TKZ's fourms [but not longer then rpgtoolkit.com, yet those got replaced by TKZs]

Wow, I didn't know that, I just thought that rpgcodeshack just changed their domain name and added a lot of stuff. well you learn something new every day don't you. on a more happier note! I like a band called five iron frenzy, ever herd of them? and thanks for agreeing with me on the whole FF 9 thing. anyone who loves FF 9 is a friend of mine!
but anyway, you remember the RPGTK forums about two V.'s of it, I liked those better than the new ones. you?

That you do Wink . There actually never was a rpgcodeshack.com. The URL was <a href='http://shack.mysticsoftware.net' target='_blank'>http://shack.mysticsoftware.net</a>, or <a href='http://mrgoldsoft.mysticsoftware.net' target='_blank'>http://mrgoldsoft.mysticsoftware.net</a>. This site's been up since the beginning of 2000, and now that rpgtoolkit.com is no more, it's the oldest TK website on the net ^_^ . It's one of the rare good things about this site I can actually claim, heh. Anyways, welcome to the community

Wrong! Ever since Xorlak took over, he made the new domain <a href='http://darkage.mysticsoftware.net/shack.html/' target='_blank'>http://darkage.mysticsoftware.net/shack.html/</a>

EDIT: Or...maybe he deleted that page. Heheheh...

(btw That page was just a joke.)

Meh, no, it dosen't! lol.

Me, well, I started being a lurker in the Toolkit just when the first version of TK3 came out. But I never became all that active in the community until I joined the Dark Age Message Board.

I started with the TK in general in 2000, but I didn't really get into it until summer 2002, and I never got GOOD until Winter 2003. Still nothign to show, though. All my projects get scrapped when I can't do a simple graphic :'(

I'm a code guy, heh.

Heh, this website has been around, and has had forums, since February 17th of 2000; just not these particular forums. The old forums were hosted by disc.server.com, as were most TK related forums back then. Unfortunately server.com has deleted them for inactivity.

Accually, I believe some of the messages might be avaiable to read still at <a href='http://web.archive.org/web/20010803025847/disc.server.com/Indices/132363.html' target='_blank'>http://web.archive.org/web/20010803025847/...ces/132363.html</a>

Ah, so they are =P. Thanks for that trip back into time DMM. You can always count on web.archive.org for a dose of nostagia  Razz Too bad the images don't work anymore. Makes things quite hard to read without selecting text. After looking at the source code, apparently they're linked to an IP address, which means we were using my home computer for hosting at the time Razz Though the "Back to Index" link links to this site...odd.

Hmmm...could you have replaced the link to the Hypermart site with the mysticsoftware.net site once you updated it?
Title: (no subject)
Post by: Spyder on May 15, 2005, 02:27:58 AM
But I would've replaced the links to the images as well, which all link to my old IP address from ~3 years or so ago, which was after the Hypermart and Bizland accounts.

I've been using TK since a little before TK 2.20 came out.  I never posted much on the boards at rpgtoolkit.com, but I did some.  I just can't remember if my name was Firestorm 2 or just Firestorm though...

Yeah, good ol' Neo Tokyo.  ^_^

No, Neo Tokyo was the first resource site for the TK community, before MS or TKZ existed. If I remember right, they only carried tilesets, but back then, web space was a bit scarce, so that's not too surprising. Besides, there was a whole 10-15 people in the community, and vast amounts of resources weren't really a neccesity. The old community was great. Imagine a community about the size of the one here at MS, only we were all making games, and there was little to no off-topic conversation at all. Everything was about the TK and the games made with it. As Zerzic said, good times Razz . Not that I'm saying off-topic chat is a bad thing, but this community has changed dramatically from what it was 6-7 years ago. Some things for the better, some for the worse.

Title: (no subject)
Post by: Spyder on May 16, 2005, 04:28:22 PM
I have no idea what the domain was. It wasn't a top level domain like neo-tokyo.com though, I'm sure of that. If you can pull up an old Links page from the old TK website, you "might" be able to find it, but I'm almost sure I've searched for it before, and it didn't pull anything up. I've been in the community since ~1998, not long after TK2.0 was first released.

I've been around since about October 2001 or something. TK 2.18 or 2.19 had not long come out.. still got it on my hard drive somewhere!

Though I really need to learn to delete stuff instead of just buying new and bigger HDs to hoard more stuff on!
