Ok, my mom works about 120 hours per week, and BARELY makes enough money to pay the bills. She is starting to get sick due to her lack of rest, and I somehow feel as though it's my fault for some reason Sad
2 jobs, 120 hours per week, only receiving 600 every 2 weeks...that doesn't seem right, does it?
-
No it doesn't, but complaining never solved anything. I say you take every dollar your mom earns, and then barge right into city all and burn all the money yelling "FUCK THE SYSTEM!"
But seriously, it's not your fault. If you are feeling guilty, then maybe you could get a job yourself and help her out. If you have a job already then get another.

Only thing I can do is get work release next year, work full time and go to school, and quit martial arts entirely, and have no personality afterwards....just school, work, eat, and sleep, just to get by and keep my mom from pushing too hard.
Sad
Summer I can work full time and still do martial arts, but starting Fall 07, I'm gone from all martial arts for good Sad
All of my dreams of being a world champion are about to come to an end...

Would this be a bad time for me to say: "Welcome to Capitalism!"?
This is ridiculous. More than 17 hours a day assuming she works everyday!
What is the minimum wage in your part of the USA (you do live in the USA, right? Or at least, I thought you did)? $5ish? Should be $600 per week, not per two weeks.
What are these two jobs?

I said she "brings home" 600 every 2 weeks. I don't know what her gross pay is, just the net pay.
And min. wage here is 6.5/hr, which when you take taxes into account, is only 3/hr -_-
-
You get taxed on the minimum wage?!
-
When will people realize, the system doesn't work.
*waves red flag with a yellow hammer and sickle on it*
In Canada the minimum wage is $7 an hour. Then again it's seven dollars Canadian!
-
Stay in school, kids. Study hard and get into college. Go for a degree in something you're interested in. You can't expect to make more than minimum wage without a decent education.
-
Pfft. We don't need an education, we need the credits. <_<
-
What if we can't afford college and we dont qualify for scholarships or other forms of financial aid?
-
Thats the reason why i told my family not to vote for bush
-
That's what I meant by studying hard. If you put your mind to it, you most certainly can earn scholarships. It's not easy, and you may have to give up some hobbies for a few years, but you can do it. And it'll be well worth the effort in the end, trust me.
And I'm assuming by your disgruntled post that your family's income is on the low side, so yes there will definitively be some financial aid options available to you. Most colleges will knock a good percentage off even for kids with families with decent incomes.

Whoa the American pay system don't sound too good. Mind you, pay systems for most countries are shit.
