TK peeps!! Listen UP!!!
I'm just a newbie programmer so be nice..it's just an idea...basic commands are used. If Im right, I think nobody has done this before..
===============================================
I woke up one day with an idea,
why can't we use the NPC function of an item
and turn it into an ENEMY type of character.
Simulating a Real-time battle system.
I formulated a program, but can't seem to have it
work('coz my game isnt finished yet!! hehe).
So I'm leaving y'all guys the programming part.
I know all of you guys know what i am thinking, and know all of you get my point.
I dont know if you can compile this as a PLUGIN or just a plain program...i know that experienced programmers can stretch this idea...
Actually, I'm working on a beta program..but I dont have a game to test it with..and the commands I programmed seems wrong...And it isnt finsihed yet..
If y'all have questions, email me at this address.

Well, it's a team in progress...

Ahmmm...
Im also "morrowind`" at the toolkit home page...

I'm too lazy to read all that. Is this for TK3 or TK2? I tried something like this for TK2 and it turned out very bad. <_<
But I skimmed it, and it looks okay, I suppose. Where?s Xorlak? He'd be able to help out with this. (Heh...)
-
Hmm... it's an iteresting idea. It just might work if you get the right system developed. However, I can't really do much for you in that respect, since I've got my own game to try to finish. And since I've been here for over three years and still havent released anything - I feel pretty stupid.
But if you happened to stumble across problems with whatever program you're attempting to make, and if you post up here, I'm sure you'll get plenty of help from other MSers and myself.
Hope everything works out for ya! ^_^

@Darkelite: Im not asking your help or anything...I just want want your comment...thanx...
Oh by the way...this is an IDEA for TK3...
I think it will work out as soon as someone has an interesting complement to my idea..and tries to code it...
it would be really helpful...
ahmmm...to be perfectly clear...the codes in my idea are not actually correct..some of it barely, but im sure some are not...
Yho...ahmm...I guess, this idea's crap huh???
-
No, it's actually quite a creative approach to a truely Real-Time Battle System. It's just that it's something that I wouldn't consider doing for one of my own games until I've at least fully finished a classic styled one, giving me more experience with it.
But if I understood your implications correctly, it does seem as though it should work should you find a programmer.
Happy TKing! ^_^

hey, ahm..Darkelite..thanx...
ahmmm...I think I should follow his advise...but none the less..I will make my idea come true...somehow...
hehe...ahm...
I'm having an Idea for a VB driven menu system..I think ill post it here or at TKZ one of this days...
ahmmm...I think this article is dead huh??? cause no one is making much interest of it...thanx for the replies though..
-
Nah It's not dead. It's just everyone's being lazy. It's only dead when nobody has posted on it for four or so weeks.
But I'd agree with DE on this one. But a VB driven menu system? Doesn't it have to be in RPGCode for that type of thing to work in TK?
-
btw guys how is the threading capabilities on the TK3? i almost never tried it for some reason, and most definitely will be required for RTBS.
-
Um... I actually already took that idea sorry. jk but not really it isn't new but the way I did it was I would just run a program that would create npcs and place them at valid areas on the board according to your level and the difficulty of the board and each item would already have wander built in and a BS. it worked fine but I deleted that game becuase it was just for practice.
