Post by: DarkElite on June 18, 2006, 02:41:15 PM
Well, progress has picked up within the last few days, and tomorrow is finally the last day of school this year! Woohoo!

However, alas it seems I've stumbled across a problem hindering me from playing .wav sound effects while running Mp3 format music using the MediaPlay() command.  If there's a way to get around this, incite would be appriciated, but if there isn't then does anyone out there know where I can find some good oriental-sounding MIDI format music?

Once I get a good deal more of progress I'll release some more shots of my work, but I feel what I have now is inadequate to really bring much attention to myself.  B)

I've always just used the MP3() command it worked fine. I never liked the MediaPlay() command, it's evil.

Yea, that's what I had originally planned on using, but it seems they took out the command in the TK3.

Arg stupid DevTeam. They ruin everything with there "New RPGCode". I just get used to the TK2 one, and then they go off and change it, with their "improvements".

But I'm sure it can be gotten around. I'm not familiar with this TK3 code so much, but they're should be a way around it! But what...

Apparently only some people have this problem.  The only way around it is to download the FMod plugin (at TKZ) and use that to play your WAVs, while you play you MP3s normally.  (It works quite well, actually.)

I still think they are n00bs for getting rid of the MP3() command. Heheh...

Lol, maybe.  ^_^
Anyways, does anyone know when we should be expecting to see the new version of the TK released?  The new features look pretty sick, but I don't want to get far in my work only to have to redo boards to work with the new system...

We better not have to redo any boards with the new system, seeing how it's a new release not an entirely new system.

Well, the Toolkit isn't entirely redone, but the board editor's systems are being completely remade.  I can't of the term (it's like proximity sensors or something like that...) but the way you set solids, programs, and all that fun stuff is being redone to be more pixel/location specific - which is really cool.  Plus it looks like they're making it so you can put images on board layers or something, so I'm really excited about the new release.  B)

Anyone know of the approximate date?

Yes, I know of the new board editor coming. I'm quite excited to use it!

Sadly, I don't think they have a planned date for release announced. It's likely going to be released "when it is ready".

Oh yeah, the one progress reports on TKZ? Yes, it looks quite promising.
