Yeah, Domain names are typically separate from hosting accounts. We'd actually be able to get to TKZ if we knew the IP address, though you wouldn't be able to log-in. Vampz had turned thesixthzone.com into an alternate URL, but it expired months ago, and again, you couldn't log in from there either. I Text Messaged Vampz yesterday about it, but I honestly don't even know if that's his current cell number, so I don't know if he got it or not. I'm sure he'll realize it soon enough, if he hasn't already.

No, it was "sarcastic little fuck". The "little" is important.

Anyway, the problem right now is my dear registrar keeps telling me I don't have enough funds to renew, despite there being twice as much shown on my remaining domain funds. It deducts the cost then tells me I don't have enough and refunds it. I've sent e-mails off but these guys are notoriously bad at customer support (i.e. they never respond). But I presume this is something they'd want to fix, heh.

Don't you have "Xavier" username?

When will we be on again? Any ideas? :

We'd be back a few hours after they fix their payment system. I have no idea when they'll fix it, I'm hoping the company isn't cutting loose and running away with everyone's deposited funds.

Bollocks, me too, I just tried registering a domain with them like three hours ago Sad

However I am kinda glad it's not just me. I've had trouble with their registration in the past and their reply was "No-one else is having problems, you're doing something wrong."

Is it just me or is the registrar site now down too? Oh man, this could get ugly...

Registrar site back up, but still can't renew.

While I fight to get the .com back, tell everyone that the .net alternative will be working by the end of today (already does for me, but can take time to propogate across the entire internet, so give it a few hours).

Just got this;

Quote
Sadly [company] is pretty much defunct now, the original operators having
vanished off into the sunset, support has been non-existant for almost a
year.

If you have recently made a deposit into your account, you should contact
paypal/your card issuer and organise claiming it back, as it is unlikely you
will be able to "spend" it.

Ugh. Strange how my e-mail to their support ends up going to another seller.

Against infection and the hand of war, This happy breed of men, this little world, This precious stone set in the silver sea, Which serves it in the office of a wall, Or as a moat defensive to a house, Against the envy of less happier lands, This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this

Ouch.

Xav, I'd go with godaddy.com if/when you get it back.  Been using them for several years for several domains without a hitch.  (Despite the general retardedness of their user interface.  Heh...)
Title: Re: Phil Forgot the Bill
Post by: Xabi on November 03, 2007, 11:33:22 AM
Yeah, that's where I went for the .net domain. I've now e-mailed to enom.com, appears my company are (were) a reseller for them, and asked them to give me the EPP codes required to transfer. See what happens.

I also use GoDaddy for IDS (:
Title: Re: Phil Forgot the Bill

(sorry to bump)

Ah, are you getting anywhere with enom then? Cos I'll have to get me some of them EPP codes too.

Headache I didn't need.

No reply yet from eNom. I'm now opening a tentative dialogue with Othello to see what exactly they're going to do and for how much. I just want my domains out of xReg and (eventually) into GoDaddy. Might cost me though Sad
Title: Re: Phil Forgot the Bill
Post by: Spyder on November 04, 2007, 01:25:55 PM
Man, when you told me the other day that it was working, I thought you meant the .com, and not the .net. Kept wondering why it still wasn't working for me, lol.
Title: Re: Phil Forgot the Bill
Post by: Xabi on November 05, 2007, 03:01:05 PM
Talyn, great news! eNom finally got back to me and without question sent the EPP codes (which you need to authorise transfers) to the e-mails of the registrants (thankfully toolkitzone.com had my most recent hotmail e-mail address). So looks like there's no need to go through that silly Othello thing or bother with Nominent claims!

I'll put the transfers through and see if they work. If they do, I'll send you the e-mail I wrote so you can copy the style (since it's sent to their legal department) and we'll be free! FREE!

Hopefully this means the .com will be back tomorrow! Yay.
Title: Re: Phil Forgot the Bill
Post by: Xabi on November 05, 2007, 03:17:09 PM
Processed the transfers, but it requires further authorisation from the current registrar apparently. I believe this isn't eNom but xReg, which is bad since they arn't there to confirm...heh. However, I do remember reading somewhere that there's a deadline to their response and if it isn't met then it is considered authorised, something like 5 days. So a slight delay, but hopefully the transfers will still go through this week.

Awesome news about eNom getting back to you! Sending that email to me would be great thanks, really appreciate it. If you could throw it at my Gmail account (alex dot gisby at gmail dot com) that would be awesome Smile

Thanks for keeping me updated. Hopefully the 5 day trick will work. It sounds about right, I remember reading something similar somewhere.

The primary purpose for Mysticsoftware.net is now for several TKZ members to verify that TKZ is indeed down.

Interesting.

We seem to have an odd case of randomly self-deleting files around here at MS.  Just a few weeks ago darkagegames.net mysteriously got wiped (was a pain to re-upload).  Just the other day I had to re-install these forums.  I suspect some files got deleted or corrupted there.  Xav doesn't have rackhost dose he? ;)

According to the whois information from Toolkitzone's domain registrar (goDaddy), toolkitzone is hosted by hostgator, or at least that's who is serving the DNS.

Title: Re: Phil Forgot the Bill
Post by: D. Ein on April 30, 2008, 08:11:46 PM
If it says it couldn't've expired, then it probably didn't.

As I mentioned, MS has just recovered from a similar event - where all the code was deleted. It's probable that the same thing is happening on TKZ.
