We'll be switching servers in a month or so and in the process we will be cutting down the unused hosted sites here. (I.e. nearly all of them.) If you have a site hosted here at MS and would like to keep it, please post here or contact me in some way.
-
To be honest, I'm not 100% sure if it's even worth keeping my site up considering I really don't do anything at all with it anymore. I think the only time I update it is when I get bored and do complete make-overs for it because of how hard it is to simply normally update it.
If it's not too much of a hassle then sure, keep it up and I might start using it again when I get some good ideas.
-
It shouldn't be much hassle at all. We've talked about keeping certain sites up just for nostalgia's sake. It's simply a matter of transferring the files, and setting up your FTP access and sub-domain again. All very easy stuff.
-
Yep, no prob DM. You're in.
Also if anyone has any old favorites they'd like to suggest keeping for old time's sake, let us know!
-
Just a status update. We're about halfway moved over! I redirected the forums to the new server on a temp address. The forums.mysticsoftware.net address will be used again once we transfer over the domain.
-
Will you guys be doing anything on the games of this site? I currently lost my memory stick with alot of TK games on it. Luckily for me it was only the ones I downloaded here at MS so I'm trying to redownload all of them.
-
Nope, all games and resources currently available will remain up. I'm thinking there is going to be a freeze on resource submissions though, since we don't have anyone to maintain this stuff. For the most part, everything will be archived just the way it is.
Speaking of, most of the data is transferred over. After a few small tweaks I'll probably inform Spyder he can throw the switch and transfer the domain this weekend.
I grabbed a few old sites for nostalgia's sake, most notably tkgr.mysticsoftware.net (http://http://tkgr.mysticsoftware.net) and gamestudio43.mysticsoftware.net (http://http://gamestudio43.mysticsoftware.net). Dude Man's site will remain and I confirmed with Colin that he's maintaining otr.mysticsoftware.net (http://http://otr.mysticsoftware.net). I've yet to hear from Khin about Pigment Arts Co., but I've already transferred the files anyway so that'll be sticking around too. Everything else looks long dead and won't be moved over (unless anyone else has a suggestion).
-
Oh yeah the OTR. I forgot about that. I apparently got banned from there for spamming or something, which is pretty sad on my part when you think about it.
-
Okay, the MS move is complete. Enjoy!

I want to ask if request for game hosting is up again.
-
I'm sure they still do game hosting, it's just at the moment they aren't accepting website hosting requests.
Hmm, as a side note might I request that on the website that you'd state whether or not it's a demo? I remember at one point you did. I know you probably don't remember but I'm sure some people might be willing to help out. I can remember a lot of them actually, and since TKGB is downloading all the games I guess he'd be able to help, right?
EDIT: Oh wait I just read the front page, so they might not be accepting game submissions
-
Yeah, we pretty much closed down everything and made MS a nostalgia-only site. If you're having trouble finding a host for your game though, TKGB, I suppose we could take just one more. ;)
Most games should say what version they are right under the title after you click on them. (Demo, full, etc.) This is of course info provided by the creator.

I'm not here to upload a new game, I'm here to upload an old game. My old game Everlasting. The battle system was messed up but I fixed so now it's playable.
-
Ah! Sure, send me a link to download it and I'll put up the new version. Or if it's not on the net anywhere, PM me and I'll get you set up with a place to upload it.

Yeah, we pretty much closed down everything and made MS a nostalgia-only site.
I just thought of something. Ain't that pretty much a museum?
@ Dude Man: It might interest you to know that like 2 years ago, or along that era, I burned all TK games hosted here into 2 discs and they take up 2 gigs of space.
EDIT: I should also mention this. MS might still have TK games that are in the server but not in the website. Two years before backing up all the games in the site, I uploaded my game and discovered TK games sitting in the server but not beign show on the site. I don't know how many but I found a game called Grand Master Shin Wu that is really, really old from the days of TK2's prime along with the demo for the first blobs game, which became Annihilation four years later. If you haven't touched the games section in the two years I discovered this, then they should still be there.
