Title: (no subject)
Post by: Mark of the Dragon on December 12, 2003, 07:24:12 PM
I'm out of here...game design is not for me, and it never was. I can't do anything at all...not even if I used MMF or GameMaker. It was fun while I was here, but the fun's gone. I've grown so obsessed with making a good game that all the fun was gone, and even making a simple sprite template stressed me out so much that I yelled at Sarah (she and I broke up shortly afterward...)

And Spyder, I asked you to remove Eternal Blade, did I not? Remove it.

And for those of you that are curious to see it, don't. For the love of god, DON'T!!!

Goodbye......

NOOOOO... The allmighty Mark get's out! Good God.

(you expected folks to cry over you're departure, didn't you? well as for me, I do)

You asked me to remove it since you were making a better demo....now that your not, there's no reason to remove it. If your no longer in the community, it would, in a sense, be impossible for the game to give you a bad name.

In the end it all goes away. First MotD, now Saddam... Whoa. Lots of bad news.

(hmmm, I didn't like Saddam after all, but MotD on the other hand was one of most legendary memebers - of the community)

Fine MOTD, go but do come back, when you find the spark again.  I despise losing friends so please come back!!  You just got too caught up in it.  You just needed to scale back.  It shouldn't about good or bad, it should be about if the game is sending your message, and from the demo, i saw a lot of promise.  Farewell friend and we await you return.  If the game didn't send it, save it in a dusty folder on your computer to keep there and if you're felling like this again, look at it to see that this stuff is possible.  Sometimes you need to look at the smallest things in life for the strongest inspiration.  Good luck.  YOu will be missed.

You actually played the demo...you have my pity. That was a 3-day piece of crap from when I only had Paint and a few "borrowed" midis (sorry Blizz and Aaron Walz...)

Yeah, sure. And since this is the last thing you've left to us - it will be remembered this way. No, I don't want you to put later version demo, hehehe... It's your choice, basicaly.

The quality of the gane shouldn't be guaged by what you have, I saw some promise.  It was a demo fir GOD's sake, It's an DEMO!!!!!!!!  Most demos test the PROGRAM, and a little bit with visual, but the core is to see if all the eye drops, caffeine pills, high electric bills was worth it, and if not, to see how you should reattack the problems you face.  Diligence is key man.  I've been playing around with this stuff for like two years and I don't have a game out yet and I probably won't for a while.  Besides my first game is probably going to be crap anyway, but I don't care because it is just a test to see if I can write in COde, make all that is needed to successfully create a game.  That's what it's all about: creation.  Also quality is relative.  Compare to the masterpieces out there (ie in any system) and you may get depressed.  Don't compare, but see if the game sends the message the right way, your way.  Like the Burger King slogan: Make it Your Way!!

Hehehe, in Poland BurgerKing went bankrupt due to McDonald's, KFC and Pizza Hat plagues. I never liked it anyway.

Well, MOTD, you've tried to be a friend to me.  Look at me, I don't make games anymore, yet I still return here when I need something to do.  This is a community MOTD.  You really should stay a while with us.

Yeah... "What is real?" - Morpheus from 1st Matrix

Real food is... hmmm. Growing somewhere near Amazon river, perhaps. Look, even if you'll get some food from the forest, it will be heavily polluted with gases from nearby factories, cars and such.

That's why I like genetical food - no, I can't say I like, I'm not against it, rather... It provides resistance to pollution and other such things. The drawback is that we it what wasn't created by God.

No I mean like they say that burgers are made from prime beef (supposedly the best) but what does prime beef mean? It is not a very good description.

Yeah, this is a community. I actually spend more time on this forum than making my games, but that might be because of my coursework burden.

And Spyder, just remove it now, please!

Damn. In Poland the release is before new year. And I have no nerves to download stuff from kaazaa (waiting 2 months for it?). And NO, don't propose me DC and other things.

A peer-to-peer program, like kaazaa. A "legal" form of piracy, hehehe.

Well, as soon as I finish fleshing out the story, then I'll get my ass working on sprites and backgrounds and crap.

My composer has come up with a few things already Smile

Serenity.mp3 - Probably a character theme or a credits theme

RPG_Battle.mid - Battle Theme...heavy on bass and guitar

Boss.mid - Boss theme (started by MrX, finished by me) Inspired by the FF4 Final Boss Theme

RPG_Evil.mid - Evil Character Theme...reminds me of the Sorceress theme from FF8

Battle.mid - Another Battle Theme, this time by Craig Reeves. Might not blend well with the other themes, though Sad

My composer, RyGuy137, is currently working on the following:

RPG_Final.mid - Final Boss Theme

RPG_Village1.mid - First Village Theme; will be used as a base for the other village themes.

Hmmm... I've tried to compose something, but I more likely make "covers", trying to add a specific look for my midis, for example a theme for...

Sanctuary Forest - I took a techno and made birds instead of bits, then some drums, bells and rock - to show the course of humanity evolving and taking all from the nature, etc...

Soundless Spire - I took an unreleased chrono trigger song "singing mountain" and made it sang by synthetised voice, like Kefka in ff6 said, "screaming in unision", with some organs and a bit arab-like addons...

Campana - Mozart in techno version. Bells, bells, bells. LOTS of bells. After all, Campana is a church capital in my game and in latin "campana" is "bell"...

Azimuth Tavern - Jazz variance of earthworm jim theme! Yay!
