Yep...I wont tell you anything about my game. Smile You have to go to my site to find out GO HERE (http://http://www.freewebs.com/zerosoftproductions)
-
I prefer latin.
-
I study Latin, and ancient Greek. And I know a little of a language very close to Old Norse: Icelandic.
-
COuld you explain your game a little bit more fully? even the site doesnt explain anything... <_<
-
He has changed the site twice in as many months... This is the third on by him I have seen.
-
Sorry ill update it more tonight or tomorrow... i have school so...yeah...and im probably gonna get body slammed by my coach if i fail anything...haha Laughing
-
I have exams so I probably know how you feel...
-
I just hope I dont fail any classes ::imagines getting body slammed by his coach monday at golf practice and going home with a broken back:: ouch..
-
Get your coach a lobotomy.
-
Whoa. First person I see which knows what lobotomy is Wink
-
Is that me or the demon flying aroung my head?
-
-
Here comes Mr. Flibble! Bouncy bouncy!
-
Well I have more information on my game.
I am using the default BS (unless someone can make me a good one <_< ). There will be over 100+ weapons avalible. SP will stand for stamina points other than Special Move points. There will be no world map (yes, yes it may seem lame, but not really...I might make a world map version if there are enough suggestions). It will be set in 2072 A.D. on a different planet, the game will be in the custom language but important stuff (like weapons and armor names) will be in English so dont worry...haha Laughing
Thats probably about all...i need to get to work
P.S. I need a tileset artist and BMP artist if your interseted, ask or e-mail me at zerosoftproductions@hotmail.com
-
Cool. I love games wiothout world map. Too bad mine will have one because I have no power to make every single location on a planet huge as 1/4 earth.
-
How big is your game going to be Cesque?
-
Hmmm. About 30 towns, so big. Wink
It will be propably divided into 4 chapters, by continents: Umber (first), Orion (second) and Sagmont (third), the 4th chapter will be the endgame. Player will be able to travel between chapters, though.
-
30 towns=bigger than DA2, although it depends on their size and other things of course.
-
The town sizes will differ much, some will take 2-3 boards and several will be divided into districts, having their own quests and basicaly allowing you to spend some time in game visiting towns only (rather than dungeons).
During 3rd chapter, nearly everything cornerns on Arcenciel - biggest game town, shattered by conflict - so, basicaly, about one fourth, maybe one third of chapter takes place there.
-
30 towns=definitely bigger than Dark Age 2.
-
Yeah, they should make 1 "darkage" an international measurement unit for game length.
- How long is the game?
- 2 and 1/2 darkages.
-
Dark Age or Dark Age 2?
-
Dark Age 2, yet numericals within measurement units make more chaos than good.
-
I am pedantic and like accuracy.
-
Damn you guys are good at getting WAY off topic.. Wink
-
That was predictable, just allow Haraldur post 2-3 times and we're 756 km from the main topic road.
-
I notice that topics flow on and change, and at some point the main road is returned to, but it is still fun to just talk about stuff, anyway, all the stuff I say is in some way related to the post before me, or the post before that.
-
eh?
-
Before i can start anything i need animations and tilesets...shit like that...but i cant make them worth CRAP!
-
Well, all it takes is time and practice.
Anyway, back to the subject:
Who here likes waffles?
-
I cannot draw, and even I do my own tilesets, in the TK, not using paint or photoshop or anything, it is not that hard...
-
well...you havent seen mine yet then...they look like a buffalo (the fish if you've seen it hah)
-
More devolpments! New updates!
1. You will be able to hold over 16 items at once. (6 will be basic equipment and the other 10 will let you hold weapons, armor, accessories, and special items that give you commands on your stamina menu)
2. Item vendors will be on every board in the game (unless your in a building where there are enemies i.e. like a dungeon).
3. You will be able to buy droids/robots to add to your party, there will be over 10-20 party members in the first demo (there is a party switching system so Laughing )
4. You will get to chose from a male or female character.
-
Cool. I love this idea.
Hmm, for comparision my game only allows 4 equpable items and 5 non-equipable, not counting stuff like potions and sacred texts, which propably won't even display.
I get that they items are in-game created, but are they global (each sword of the same type is the same) or in-game customizable, for example you can add attributes to the sword when within game?
Vendors on each board? You mean in each city or what? Or are you going into a someone's house and yippie, here comes the vendor?
Droids? Cool. Only fightning droids, or are there medical droids, for example?
-
Medical droids would be really cool, and more realistic, well as realistic as sci-fi can be.
-
Yeah. Of course I won't rest like that and make some references to best world sci-fi conception in game I've ever seen... FALLOUT.
There, you see all the eastern mentality. Japanese with their manga-sayan-hasu-gosu culture have landed wiuth their submarine upon shores of desolated San Francisco after the nuclear war and populated the city. They began training martial arts and woirshipping their divine Emperor. When you got worthy enough, you could actually visit their "Emperor". It was... a computer. Hehehe, you could even kill (format) him and then all the folks in city hated you Wink
No, really, this game was really real, but it was based on conception of future seen in 50' years. So, now cellular phones, no nuclear winter, etc. But several conceptions were brilliant, like using virus to mutate living organisms and the perfect storyline... "War... war never changes." It is only game known to me where the "all mighty America" is not a perfect country defending the world. It is a flawed, mad country, which started the great war and ended up escaping to an oil rig, the "Enclave", from which the president orders his special forces to gather best scientists from the continent and exterminate the population, infected with deadly virus...
-
Sounds cool, I have never played it...
-
I know many hate this game, because it's, well, simply brutal. It contains almost all "adult only" elements (especially fallout 2), but it just makes it more real.
Fallout was, as far as I know, first game in which you could kill a child, for this deed you were hated and rewarded with specific reputation - "karma" - child killer... Still, it was the first game in which you could do this.
This game really had a variety of things to do, it is also a first game I know in which you can play as grave-robbing, drug-addicted homosexual stealth assasin which is master of skinning lizards...
Also, in this game, the skill/stat system rocks, and I sort of based on it in my game. I know no better system like that (it was also used in Lionheart, but in this edition I've heard it sucked).
Hmmm, it thought this game to be legendary... Same as for starcraft and final fantasy series... Hmm, what games did you actually PLAY and liked it? (beside Dark Age 2)
-
Neverwinter nights, Grand Theft Auto (all of them), Cultures, Civilisation 2: Test Of Time, Gangsters and Gangsters 2, Dustball and Rudolph's Adventure.
-
Okay, forget my another question like this on other topic. Laughing
GTA series are fine, but I can't say they are best. Civilizations (only played original 2 and 3) rule, test of time seems stupid to me as it involves sci-fi fantasy, and for such a game it sucks. I also hate that there are huge imbalances in each game. In CV2, you can't build "nothing" - you are forced to build something until you discover capitalisation. In CV3, "strategic resources" have random chance of dissappearing which totally SUCKS, you have uranium - bam! you don't have uranium! all of sudden.
Also, they removed best government - fundamentalism (propably because of terrorism, it was religious rule based on propaganda, military and terror). Also, in CV3, whatever government you try to play, you eventually end up with democracy. Why? Because communism produces, let's say, 1000 gold per day. Cool, you say. Then you try democracy and see it produces 5000 gold per day, workers work at double rate and corruption is minimized. This is MAD! Good thing you can change that on your own maps with map editor.
Gangsters? Never seen it.
-
Hehe. Gangsters is quite an old game, and Gangsters 2 was 2000 or 2001...
-
Im going to add a karma system in it. Everything you do affects how people will act to you (this will take alot of programming) and there will be all types of droids, medical, combat, support, ect. Some droids will have better skills at other things. There will also be non-based combat skills, such as, lockpick, computer slicing (hacking), repair, computer use, first-aid and if I can do it right you will be able to distribute these skills through hard disks (you have an implant in your arm where you can learn skills though) and that is also how you will level up, the more disks you buy, the more experience you will get towards a level up.
Droids will be leveled up differently but somewhat the same, computer chips will upgrade there skills and stats, they will also have special items that allow them to use skills, such as, stun, disease (posion), flamethrower, ect.
This game will be very, very involved. And yes there will be vendors on every board (if you live in LA you know what im talking about haha, basically like drug dealers) some will have different things, which means alot of time will be spent walking, and since theres NO world map you have to keep track of where you are (no im not that mean...there will be signs to tell where you are).
Ill get more things up when I get time to write, im sick right know and i feel like shit.. Sad
-
Absolutely cool, dude. I await in amazement.
The inserting of disks into your arms is the only stupid idea I see here Smile Hehehe. I prefer system where you read books / have to read disks in computers / etc. All this cyrborg stuff sounds weird to me... Through it is said first "cyborg" conception came from leonardo DaVinci, and most of his conceptions came true...
I also wanted some karma system in my game... But I plan each basic character to have 3-5 quotes to say, at least... Add the "speech" system and you get 1-3 bonus quotes... And most characters talk hell more than it. So karma system will cause more and more dialogue stuff which I don't like at all.
There will be something replacing it... For example, church members will generally hate gnostics, jews/templars will hate arabs, necromancers - paladins, etc... Also, if you'll win war supporting the paladins, necromancers will hate you anyway.
-
Both of those sound very cool.
-
(too lazy to log in)
like i said i need tiles first before i can start on it Smile. I probably wont add the inserting disks thingy...it is kinda stupid...but anywas if you want to do tiles or anything else you can send them to www.freewebs.com/zerosoftproductions (http://www.freewebs.com/zerosoftproductions)
-
Why not use ones on Mystic Software, or the Shack or TKZone?
-
casuse i kinda wanna make my own ones, but i might just have to use those :/
-
Ah, well. How much practice have you had at doing your own?
-
hmm... lets see PI=3.14463474639246237942376492736472836439469374637647293649237649872364723463294632974326942376492374623648723648924629424324623476329746329462987462943746329846924632473267892364782364872367843269462384632764273642389648723648723647823694782364872364987236487236478263784623784623784627846287648242984623986423763423947236984723697842368(its an infiniate deciamal)
so my practice is about...0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001000000000000000000000000000000% (haha) Laughing

Yeah, but what has pi to do with it? Pi is the perfect number, in (how is it called in enlighs) 10-al system of counting (heh, I mean the fact that there are 10 basic numbers, in 2-al system of counting there is 0 and 1, etc), no matter in what units you count, you always get pi from transformations of pi*r2 etc...
-
I think you got Pi wrong: it starts: 3.142595...etc.
-
You're both wrong! It starts 3.141592... from what I've searched. All right, any mathematician around here to solve the problem?
-
I was closer, and I did it from my memory, while not really caring much. Therefore I win.
-
Hmmm, there was some lyric about pi, where number of letters in words corresponded to continous numbers of pi, though I can't remember it...
-
A song about Pi? Seriously?
-
It's letters corresponded to numbers, and "a" meant "0", for example...
The b must b stay, honorably no.
3-1-4-1-5-9-2 etc...
Senseless. Like most of my examples.
-
WHUT?
-
Eeeeh... A nice sentence, isn't it?
The - 3 letters
b - 1 letter
must - 4 letters
b - 1 letter
stay, - 5 letters (counting the coma) Smile
honorably - 9 letters
no - 2 letters
So it's 3-1-4-1-5-9-2...
3.141592...
-
Oh... I thought you meant that a=0, b=1, c=2, d=3 etc.
-
I got more updates...hurray, hurrah!
1. There will be different generations. The first generation is the epilouge, it takes place in a 1991 world. The next generation, I was thinking about setting in the CRETACEOUS PERIOD after the fifth mass extinction (about 60million B.C.). And the next generation i was thinking about setting in the Roman/Greek era (about 600 B.C.). Then it will return to a more futuristic period (around 2074), then there will be a 2600 A.D. perios whioch will be the prolouge.
2. There are currently over 17+ weapon types, current ones include...
Swords
Daggers
Handgun
Shotgun
Bazooka
Axe
Spear
Slingshot
Bow/Arrow
Martial Arts (default)
Stick
Raygun
Magnum
Gernade
Gernade launcher
Flamethrower
Boomerang
Machine gun
Sub-machine gun
Dual Swords
Double bladed sword
And yes...there will be graphics for all of those, there might be more and more generations being added as the game goes on and also new weapons might be added. Thats all for now...and I am still in need of a GFX artist and tileset artist if anyone can help, either PM me or send an e-mail to zerosoftproductions@hotmail.com. (i might not be abe to access my e-mail becasue of the MYDOOM virus) Laughing
-
YOURDOOM? As far as I know it doesn't just spread by opening mail, but maybe... Hmm, I check mail and there are no unknown messages...
History periods? Cool. I only thought that 60 million BC is not creatacerous anymore, it's (how it's called in english, damn) tri-something... hmm, dictionary claims it's "tetriary period". So I'll agree. Wink Creatacerous ended directly at 65 million BC (or 66, depending on what some scientists claim).
I see there will be linear story, if you travel from one period to another...
In 600 BC Rome wasn't that powerful yet...
-
I think it might have been at that time that the romans overthrew their king Tarquin Superbus... and formed the oligarchical republic.
