One pixel on the map corresponds to one board tile.  I use the player position coordinates on the board, add values based on which board the player is on, and use the result to put the location icon on the map.

Nice Smile

What I have planned is to use a compass-like system instead...and have an extra arrow point to the nearest town, and a red arrow point to the next objective. It will take forever to make, i know Sad

Wait a sec. Is map in DA2 a one, big board with different layers and enemy sets?

It is several big boards Cesque, you notice as soon as you get to move around more.

All right, then...

You move to the sid and eventually you move on the board, instead of the board moving behind you, and you reach the edge and you are on another board, they are big boards though...

I do not know, 15 maybe? There are probably 20 with mostly water and about 25 with at least a little water...

Damn...that's a lot of boards.

Dark Age had only 9, right?

I did not get into Dark Age much, the default battle system really  annoyed me.

9? Nah! I remember it having much more, but mostly consistent of water, and propably of smaller size. Also, one board had 2 variations, with Varda castle and with mist and Mortis' castle.

I think he was referring to the amount of boards on the world map...

Yes, and I think he's wrong, as I remember prying through DA1 files, too (ever found that sea coast board with blue crystal? Wink ) and there were more boards plus the two-versional one I mentioned.

Heh, actually only 4 or 5.

The first Dark Age had 30 at 50x50, but about half were completely water.
