Should I play the Final Fantasy games? If so, what consoles were they on?
-
FF7+ were on PC and some console but I can't keep track of their names, FF4-FF6 on super nintendo - SNES (emulator+rom=you have them*), FF1-FF3 SUCK but were on regular nintendo - NES...
And, ehem, what games DID you play, Haraldur Tristan Gunnarson?
(hehehe, Tristan is name of a priest in my game)
* Best emulator is znesw around here, and due to legally purposes you should** delete rom after 24 hours.
** Ever wondered who listens to this stuff, beside my mother which acts like it's still communism around and people respect laws?
-
I am in your game (sort of) I am honoured, most people in the UK call me Tristan because the cannot pronounce Haraldur. I have not played any FFs, and as for the games which I have played and like apart from DA2, I have answered this on another topic...
-
Nah, it's just a name B) It's not you, in any way.
Propably I'll put you as a dwarf in Tyr (sort of my game's iceland).
There are loads of references in my game, for example church in Kodra has fresques based on those from hagia Sophia, icons for spells are based, too (the "jihad", flaming hands I used as avatar once, was based on some art, also "cure" shows the most beautiful religious scene anyone, ever created - the touch between God's thinger and Adam's of Sixtine Chapel by Michangelo)...
Hmm, you can always download the roms... Just let me warn you FF5 sucks, and FF6 / FF4 rock. If you search for FF4, download the HARDTYPE. Through it's harder to find it, it's much more worth it. Playing easytype, you can't say you know everything about the game, and I assume you are a perfectionist in some way, as you might have said somewhere in the endless time...
-
Yeah, and I did reply to you post on the long topic on Game Studio 43, you know when you ranted...
-
The forum at gamestudio was been changed, so the old posts are gone with the wind.
-
No, there is a link to the old message board at the bottom of the forum page.
-
Bene.
-
Got.
-
FF I - III do not suck. Without them, we wouldn't have IV - XII.
Only FFVII and FFVIII were released on PC after a console version. FFXI is an online game that is not presently available in the UK.
All the numbers for the FF games we are using are the original Japanese numbers.
American releases start:
FF, FFII (FFIV J), FFIII (FFVI J), FFVII, FFVIII, and so on.
though I and II (J) were re-released for the PSX called Final Fantasy Origins
FFIV was rereleased for PSX in the package Final Fantasy Chronicles, which also has Chrono Trigger.
FFV and FFVI were rereleased for PSX on Final Fantasy Anthology.
VII - IX are PSX releases. FFX is PS2. FFXI is cross platform, PC and PS2. though neither have made it to the UK yet, but will arrive eventually.
-
2 from a moderator, excepting Spyder and Xorlak, in one day! Amazing. I did not know that Michael,as I nkow nothing about the series.
-
Mikey Hill, you forgot X-2 Very Happy
*drools over Yuna's thief outfit*
-
Why are you drooling Mark of the Dragon?
-
'Cause Yuna looks so frickin' hot as a thief!
-
Where can I get a picture?
-
Okay, without slavery America wouldn't become a world global force. So slavery doesn't suck, right?
FFs 1-3 had stupid battle system and menu system, sorry. Though, there are several releases which change graphics into better and most bugs (for wonderswan, for example)...
Chrono Trigger is cool, too, except the thing I suck in it, time travel*.
* I won't give stupid examples like getting back into past and killing your mother (you have no right to exist this way).
I'll give a short question, instead, let's say you travel into middle-ages, on some day, on hour 14.03. local time. Do you also exist there on 14.04 local time? (most will answer, yes).
Also, let's say you get somewhere on hour 14.02 and take a person with you. Then you get back on hour 14.01 and take the same person. Soon you'll get an army of clones.
The same is present in Chrono Trigger, when you put Robo into work, then return into future and take him back (Fiona's forest quest). You can get back into past and see Robo is still working, through it's with you!

She's the one in the center of the pic. Brown hair.
-
Okay, I get you can post 1 post while I write mine, but 2-3 at time?! Mad.
Yeah, she's... hmm... nice B)
-
Some think Rikku (the blonde) is hotter...but I disagree. She has no taste in hairstyles, for one. Also, she's less desireable because she's so frickin' clumsy!
-
Nice...
-
Are there, hmm, larger versions of these pics? (hehehe) Very Happy
-
Buy the game and the guide Smile
You get the larger pics in the guide, and you get to see them in action in the game Very Happy
-
No thanks B) Any other way to get those pics larger? (hehehe)
-
Search, and you'll find...

-
I LIKE PICTURES...
-
heh, but i still think rikku is hotter, i go for blonds Laughing and that clummsyness may come in handy......nvrm...yeah.... Razz
-
Who cares, as long as they are hot... yeah! Not that I would know what sex is like, me being unfortunate and a virgin... who cares! Cannot be that long can it? Can it? No!
-
heh, why do they use words that make such stuff so........weird sounding...is it to try to stop us from having it?? cause it aint working!! Laughing
-
Hehehe.
What would be the difference anyway? The only thing you can f*** looking at Rikku or Yuna is yourself. Same for Lara Croft fans, for example. What's the difference if she's hottest girl you've ever seen or the worst, they are all just pics done by some gfx artist. It's not like in greek myth, where Afrodite seen sculptor, which fell in love in woman statue he made himself and breathed life into it... Sorry.
I just thought "virgin" is a term refering to female-only...
-
No, it is both sexes. You probably hear it most in Poland due to Mary. I do not think she was a virgin anyway. She was probably impregnated by a boy her family did not like so she said that "God did it."
-
So you call Jesus a b***rd? Can't say I like or believe this concept.
Strange, but in Poland "virgin" is term used only for females... It sounds gayish to said that about a man, so don't use this term when you're in Poland and you're refering to yourself Very Happy It comes from the fact that you can tell if woman is a virgin or not by the physical body state (I won't go into details, hehe) and as for man you can't determine if he already had sex or not.
-
Good point.
If God does not exist (and I do not believe he does) then how else could Mary have become impregnated.
I cannot believe this, we are talking about a 2000 year old soap...
-
Hmmm, I believe in God in my very own specific way...
I've read through several apocryphics some time ago... These are things which Church / Jews cut out from the Bible, or they were not included... Like the origin of demons and the nephilim...
There are also evangelies by Thomas or Nicodemus, showing the very anti-feministic aspects of Bible (read them yourself, it's easy to find these on the net)
Hmm, after reading some of them I began thinking the whole Satan was right, he wasn't that bad, he had his motivations to hate God and Mankind... I can't say he was right, but I understand the poor dude, same way I understand chechenian or afgan terrorists - they just do only thing they can, they fight, the only way they show, with fear, the only way the can manifest their power - by publical sowing of terror.
-
Good point, but I still do not believe in him.
-
Hmmm, faith really helps - faith in anything. You have someone to blame for everything, that's the best argument I can find right now Smile
Also... I believe there is something more than the laws of physics that keeps the world the way it is.
A good example was the one in original Jurassic Park book, about life. It's something humanity would never reach. Let's say you have several objects interacting. Two planets, two cells. In space. It's easy to imagine, right? Now think of hundred such objects, working all at once, without disharmony. It's harder to think about.
Now think that your organism is consistent of thousands of thousands of thousands of cells. They are all grown out from 2 basic totipotential cells. With time, these cells specialise, some become nerves, other heart, they began moving blood and beating the heart, gathering all sources from outside factors - food, water, oxygen. They build themselves until an organism is grown into a thing which can think on it's own.
And it works PERFECTLY, flawlessly. (almost) It is a construction so perfect and containing so many parts, one may think changing the order would snuff out the candle. But no, you can take wounds and survive. You have freedom of what you eat, your organism would generally keep you alive anyway (if you'll eat something, that is). It is a machine, which learns on it's own mistakes, becomes stronger with failures and adopts to the environment, which's past is blessed with millenias of evolution and future with will of survival...
Now I can't believe it only takes chemical reaction of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen & nitrogen to produce this all...
-
I does in my opinion. Organisms which cannot survive injury do not survive to brees, so only organisms which do survive breed, and they produce organisms which are like them.
-
Okay... Just letting you know I doubt humanity will ever create a machine which will repair itself and upgrade with parts it'll find, searching for it's own fuel to run. And it sounds plain simple compared to what living beings are.
Like them? Okay, the thing which Church ever fought most and the thing which I treat as most divine at all is evolution. There is absolutely no known explanation why it happens. Perdiocial mutations are not the case, it's a highly organised force. Evolution does not happen instantly, which would be easier to understand, so just because you'll begin eating concrete instead of fruits won't make your children be able to eat concrete.
It is force no one can steer - it is not ruled by will, yet knows what the speciment wants, for example, the Darvin's birds (forgot the english name for this specie of bird) which had assimilated to different types of food, depending on island they lived in. You can't say they prayed for being able to feed on fruits, and the others to feed on insects. They have assimilated themselves. God knows how. God knows who gave them longer beaks when they hunted for insects and harder ones if they cracked open the nuts.
Another thing which can't be explained by physics or chemistry are the emotions. When you see a cute girl or enemy you hate, your body reacts differently. What causes that? The optical mosaic which is memored by the brain, and if it sees it, it produces proper hormons? It's hard to believe, really.
Also... what determines if you can tell something is beautiful (be it girl, painting or the stars) and something is not? What makes people fear when they see the blood?
You see, propably there IS an explanation. But propably humanity won't find it. Because humanity can't do everything. Whatever methods you will try, you cannot see the atom as you can't make a spying class which will show it. You can't determine what happens inside black holes as nothing would survive that, be it man or observer shuttle send there with camera. There are borders, and blessed should be the people who try to cross them other way... For example, you can't tell what is substance built from by magnifying your view into atoms, but you can use spectroscopy, as every atom acts differently when light ray passes through it.
I hope this is all I wanted to say Smile
-
I am not going to say any more, I know you will not change what you believe just by talking to me. If you want to know more then read books about it, they would explain things better that me.
-
Yeah, I won't, as a fanatical pantheist! But the discussions are fun, can't you say? Wink
-
I like discussions and debate.
-
how can you say that? if youve read the bible (as im sure cesque has) it can make sence, but those whom are athiast dont uderstand it as it truely it. Remember, you only have one chance, make sure you make the right choice
-
I have read the whole bible through, about 5 years ago I was forced to go to a sunday school, but I did not believe a word of it so I was allowed to quit, and I read the whole bible.
-
oh, heh Very Happy , but still...how can you find it mere coincidence?
-
It is not pure coincidence, it is logical. For instance, on the Galapogos islands there are several species of finches. Lets say that on one island there are a lot of nuts that can onlt be opened with big beaks, and this is the main food. The finches which are there will get larger beaks because, there will be some in the population with larger beaks than average. These are more likely to survive and breed. Their children have larger beaks and do even better. The animals and plants adapt to their surroundings. Only the finches with big beaks survive, and the others starve, leaving only the big beaked ones to breed.
-
how does that relate to subject? that just saying that life exists because of adeptation, which is true, but how can life itself be mere coincedence? if the sun were any further away, we'd freze, any closer and we would burn. how do you this life as just a one chance opertunity to just die at age 83? life is no game, nor is it something that will end.
even for those who r athiast, their life will not end at death, if they do not become those whom are born again, they will spend eternity without the Word. this, i most certainly fear.
-
Okay. But evolution is not only survival of the strongest. We evolved from small mammals which looked like rodents or primitive marsupials. Let's say the strongest of these survived, adopted to their environment... Now, this way we'll still look like them, except only the strongest of them would survive. No, this way life won't even exist in multicellular form - we'll all look like the "strongest" monocellular creatures which survived. Got my point?
Bible? Hmm, I've read some Bible and apocryphics (I recommend Henoch's book, it is about fallen angels, the real plan of God and the way world is built)
Hmm, Heaven and Hell are other subjects. In some cases, I can say I CAN believe in them, through my pantheism, but I WILL NEVER EVER BELIEVE IN THE MOTHER F*** PURGATORY.
Neither the Bible nor apocryphics (as far as I've read through them) mention this. Purgatory was designed by the Church. But the God is perfect - and he makes perfect decisions - there is no advocate which can defend you from him, nor procurator which wants to blacken you in His eyes, nor any corruption ("sorry, my Lord, I've bought a free heaven ticket in XIV century from the local priest, I want to go to Heaven")... And thus, if God makes a decision - he either allows you to enter His kingdom, or not. If you want to be cleared from sins, do it on earth, don't await some "purgatory" which will do it for you. And thus, all the prayers for "souls in purgatory", so common in Poland, are nonsense.
Also, Hell in my eyes is nothing "just" or "done by God's will", simply if you won't eneter Heaven and be protected by the Lord you'll fall into the dark afterworld inhabited with souls which can shatter yours in their wrath for all Creation (this is also in Henoch's book, why Satan hates Mankind).
That was from bibilical point of view.
From the pantheistic point of view... Life is a game. A perfect games without mistakes. We're all pawns in the eternal Universe, which determines our existence with chemical, physical and spiritual reactions that keep this all together... We'll all die, die for matter we're built from to return to the Source.
Anyway... Dying is nothing glorious.
-
I do not want to die: I do not like the idea of the big switch off.
-
It's not the big switchoff. It's an accident which comes from a process. A process, which involves destruction of your own cells.
Almost all deaths come from disoxidation, so be preppared. If you don't like the idea of choking yourself, death is not for you. Let's look closer...
- Carbonium oxide. Reacts with hemoglobine, so your blood can't transport oxygen. So you choke yourself.
- Poison. Works similar to above. Arsenium or cianide prevent blood from oxygen transport. So... same as above.
- Neurotoxinal poison. A better thing, as it paralyzes your nerves which is quite a pain, but you're already dead when you're choking.
- Hanging. It's either pure choking, or breaking spine, which causes choking mixed with paralyze.
- Stroke. Heart stops working, so you... right. You guessed it. Choke, as blood transports oxygen.
- Electrocution. God knows. Propably not choking.
- Shot in heart. Same as stroke. Choking.
- Shot in head. Direct brain damage = direct death. No choke, ekhm, joke.
- Diseases. Good thing... They can be painful, but usually choking is not that rapid and you slowly fall into death, rather than choke instantly.
- Car accident. I've got one myself (not a major one, though), and you get such a shock that you don't even think about yourself choking, as you usually get broken bones and paralyze.
- Age. God knows. A mix of everything.
See? It's pretty easy, everything runs around the damn oxygen...
Unfortunately, we have no democracy in this world, and Mother Nature is communistic, if we would have - I would become a candidate for the state God for the next decade and people would vote for me.
-
I tis still a switchoff, however you look at it, it could be a dimmer switch sometimes, making it slow, but eventually it is always off, brain functions cease. I find that scary, I want my brain to function for ever.
-
I don't want to... I just don't want to die. It's an idiotic process. If I'll ever get to choose my death, I would prefer thunderstrike - as it's the fastest death known to me, beside using neurotoxins of Conus Geographicus, as far as I remember it was one of the most poisonous creatures on earth, killing in fractions of a seconds...
-
I would prefer a lot of anaestetic, with nice music in the background, and it to be slow so I could have time for some decent famous last words.
-
Okay. But evolution is not only survival of the strongest. We evolved from small mammals which looked like rodents or primitive marsupials.
i couldnt agree more, the bible never does specify how God created things, but just that he did. leaving room for the idea of evolution to come in
-
You would then have to admit that "6 days" was not completely literal.
-
not neciserely, you see, it also says that he can do anything, so if this evolution thing is what happened, it would have been speed up so fast, that it is beyond theory or posibility now.
-
How does the fact that evolution is still carrying on affect that?
-
it doesnt, it would just be continuing, wether its what was done by God or not
-
unless you were talking about the bird thing, then i have no idea what you mean
-
Personally I do not believe he exists. But there are 2 billion people who believe he does and I can not convince them all about his non-existence so I will leave them to it.
-
thats because we have faith where others do not understand nor see, but i dont means to sound preachy, but just be sure you make the right decision in life...
-
and realy, there will only be 144,000 left on earth in the end, when Christ's reign is announced (Revelations 9-20:all)
-
I am sure I have. I want to achieve as much as possible and have as much fun as possible in life, because it will switch off eventually so I might as well make good use of my time.
-
then you should spend it with the Lord, and that time limit wont be on you
-
I do not think he exists, and so it would not happen. Anyway even if I devoted my life to him I would still not believe in him so if he did exist it would make no difference.
-
Elite, Bible is SYMBOLIC. 12 was the perfect number in jewish cabalism, 1000 was the number showing eternity, for example saying "there were thousands" meant there were so many you couldn't count.
144.000 = 12x12x1000. It's pure symbolism, it shows infinity of those who can be redeemed.
-
that cool! but i see no hope for haraldur....though you cesque, have a chance Sad
-
Hmmm, not really... Last time I was in the church was before christmas. And I never plan to go there again!
Bible said something about "gates of hell not breaking the church built upon St Peter" or something... propably. But which church? The roman catholic? Eastern orthodox? Evangelistic? Luteranic? Anglicistic? Gnostic? Anabaptistic? Yehova followers'?
-
luteranic? you mean lutheran? and i said you have a chance only because you beleive theres a God, just not the one i do, and going to church doesnt determen wether hell or heaven is you destination. i go to church...like 2 times a month, and sometimes not at all, going to heaven is mostly determened if you have been sealed by the Holy Spirit
-
No! people are trying to convert me!
In my opinion the maximum the Bible can be considered as is a book of law or morals...
-
You mean the "baptism of fire" sacrament? Or whatever was another english name for it... This done at age of 15 years, said to bring Holy Spirit upon you? Hehehe, I've managed to escape it twice (in Poland church is not well organised, you have to ask yourself for teachings before the sacrament etc) and propably I'll never get it.
Luter, Luther, what's the difference? Wink
I believe in God because it's easier to have God with you than against you. Through I still believe God hates me for my life and heresies, but, well, he's the God, he's said to be just - so if he has his purpose, it's okay. Maybe he doesn't. God knows. Laughing
-
God should know his own opinion I guess, okelie-dokelie!
-

you dont have to 15, i was baptised when i was 1, a long long time ago. And no, God does not hate you, he is merely angry that you have still yet not come to his son, and i can understand why, all of life is now sin, because life is not what it was suposed to be when creation was done, if Adam (heh, me  ) had not eaten the bloody fruit, then we would still be naked in a garden
-
I hate religon, I hate christian fanatics (key word, fanatics, that does not mean I hate christians in general because I am one) I homeschool/Private school, some christian program and my books tell me the biggest bullshit i've ever seen! here is a direct qoute from my english book
We can do other things while loving god. God gace us a mind to think. As creator of life, he wants us to understand it. He also established the principles in geometry so man could visualise proof of god's exactness. WISDOM is to think about and walk in the ways of god. As a person walks in WISDOM, he practices right from wrong in all situations. He responds to life as god would. Sometimes Jesus did carpenter work. Other times he fished; but while doing those things, he still walked in the ways of his father
Give me a break. It also says in there that love isn't an emotion, and that people confuse kissing and holding hands love. Give me a god damn break
(Editor: Censored)ing christians
-
Hmmm, I don't speak about regular baptism, there is another sacrament at age of 15-16 I forgot english name... let me check... (I'm not sure evangelic churches have this)... it's Confirmation.
Hmm, I don't believe in most of things church say, if I base on something religious, it's usually straight from Bible or the apocryphics.
Welcome back Tosoto. I'm also very happy I see you again, heh... B)
-
yeah, its been a while since you were on the forums
-
I hate religion, I think it is bullshit. But that is only my opinion. One of the reasons I hate religion so much might be because I was almost brainwashed at a sunday school I attended for five years. I was very happy when I managed to persuade my parents to let me not go.
-
....
-
Hmm, I'm happy with my religion, or, better, current religious system for myself. It absolutely lacks discipline, organisation, church, control and is very liberative.
I just believe in God, base on Bible sometimes, the System, propably afterlife, and doing good deeds to wash out bad deeds and pay for sins.
I can't say I believe God is happy with me, but there are worse people than me.
I never actually ceased to believe in God. I simply hated him sometimes. WIth my thoughts I cursed his name, and propably I was right at some point. God is not good, God is just, and just beyond my understanding...
Nah, I'm falling into mysticism with my religion-less worship...
-
heh...kindof diffrent religion, but ok, it works ... i guess. At least you believe there is one cough*haraldur*cough....sorry, anyways, i guess one would find it esier to believe in his own, personal religion, and harder for those who believe in one that they did not create, but what the picture that i saw says explains it.
It said, "I didnt say it would be easy, only that it would be worth it."
-
Hmm, I believe what is written in the Bible. Somehow. So it's not my very own designed faith, where I say: "Hey, let's make god called Iron Serpent because it sounds cool, and worship it", like Nebuchednessar did.
-
The only thing I can believe in is myself, because if this is all a dream then there is still a me dreaming it.
-
Interesting conception... And yeah, true, you're right and I get what you mean.
Heard of something like it before, there was a man who worked on dream-connected things like lucid dreams and mind activity. He believed (through it seems mad to me), that just like in dreams we have natural instincts, for example, not too jump into the pit through beside waking up nothing will happen, the same way in reality death is nothing to fear, as we will simply 'wake up'. Anyone courageous enough to try that? B)
-
No, I am a coward. I base this on the conundrum of multiple awakenings.
-
strange idea, but im not trying it! Ive been motivated (although i donot know how) by Cesque to create my own religion. Although it wont be any Budist crap (srry to anyone who is, just my opinion [or my fact Very Happy ]).....i will call it....Hinduism! heh Laughing .....hmm....it will be......Antiathism!
-
Hmm, I dislike buddhism, but perhaps only because I dislike anything which has growing popularity and you can read about it on every step.
What's this whole 'antiathism' you talk about?
-
If you hate things with growing popularity then you must hate Christianity, as the number of Christians as a percentage of the world population is increasing.
I think I might start my own religion, but It will have slightly different morals from others: I do not care about other people having sex, it is their own affair.
-
antiathism is like a new (made by me, not some wak Laughing ) christain type religion, it has most of the same believes, but some diffrent thinking in it.
some of the major differences are:
most christians are against the idea of evolution, in antiathism, it is an open idea, and is posible, even with all of what the bible say put into thought.
another is that i dont believe God created all things, in the bible it says that he can do no evil. So if he were to create evil itself, that would be evil. So i think that God created good (man and angels and stuff) and one angel (lucifer) used that good for evil ,which then created sin. And was thrown to hell for doing it, then Satan tempted the humans to sin, causing the power of it to grow.
also, i believe that the holy spirit seals one into heaven, and the only way that person could goto hell, was if he came to his own destruction (not suicide, but coming to the dark)
-
Interesting, less wacked out than most Christian sects.
-
Heh, christianity considers all evangelic churchs heretic...
But, what's the difference between heresy and dogma? Dogma was agreed with by the papacy.
Christianity isn't against evolution now, but 100 years ago, they have burned Darwin's books, which only adds more chaos to the whole religion.
Yeah, christniaty is all around - but I'm used to it. Same way I would have to hate oxygen, because it's all around, and people breath it. I'm not used to buddhism, which I consider good, but changed by medias and people into a "popular new trend".
Hmmm... Good conception, Dark Elite. You should read Book of Enoch (it says about most things which aren't said in the people, the origin of Lucipher, why really the God caused the global flood, etc)
I prefer St Thomas' way of thinking, everything God created is good - so evil is just turning against God and what he created...
Hmmm, I have troubles believing in Holy Spirit at all, I just know it's a spiritual form of God, same way demons can "possess" people, holy spirit can "unpossess" them from sin etc.
As for the whole concept, I also recommend "Name of Rose" book by Umberto Eco, I have just finished reading. In the end, there is a good concept by Wilhelm de Baskerville (main hero of the book), as what the DEVIL is - and that the devil must not necessarily come from evil, it can come from fanatical worship and defense of God, too... (the movie was good, but it was more "for the public", while the book shown the bare truth without the moral that "good always wins" etc, for example, the beloved girl of Adso died, as well as the abbot, and the "evil" inquisitor survived)
-
So the universe which is a figment of my imagination is not all insane, good, I was wondering about my mental health.
-
Enoch isnt in my bible (wonder why? ) so many things were left out to make people not see the true anger of God, not to say thats a bad thing to do. I think it was smart, beace of it, so many more have been saved. But Enoch i guess reveals all of that... where can i find it?
-
Type in "book of Enoch" in any internet searcher, heh...
-
OK, I am going to try and control my imagination: let us make my computer talk... Damn! I suppose it is difficult to control your imagination, especially as you are almost convinced it is reality.
-
My computer always talks to me... It's wrong? Well, so how am I supposed to use my imagination to make him shut-... Damn, it seems my TV wants something from me again. What the hell, I've already fed it this morning, it should be quiet...

This makes System more complicated... As the hardest thing to define is reality.
-
Good figment, have a cookie.

You are a figment of my imagiation Cesque, as is the TK and the whole world.
