The link to Midgard doesn't work (on your site). As far as I see, you used this strange "d" letter in <a href> which seems to cause some errors, as internet adress can't be readen with this strange letter or smth. Or maybe it's only on my computer (or it requires some special font support)... dunno...

Damn! Ah, well, there is nothing of interest there anyway as yet.

Can't you simply change the strange d's into regular d's in site file name and a href?

I will, when I am not so lazy as right now.

it is the strange d's, the computer cannot read them and turns it into an A with a quote over it...

We have ł, ć, ó, ś, ż etc in Poland (does it display 'em properly? most likely, no) and I don't use that in games, heh...

Heh, you can "anglise" them, for example Midgard instead instead of Mi(funny d)gar(funny d), at least in links.

It is pronounced: Mith(as in the)garrrrth(as in the)

In Iceland we use d for strong ds.

That is the reason I hate anglisiations, they get closest looking letter, not closest sound.

Helvitis! Af hverju gerað þeir þetta?

hahaha! no....i just dont have a name for my own laguage that i developed, its a form of a past english.....like english came from it indirectly, but thats just the name i temporarily have for it.....and quenian is an elvish (the most popular and said to be the most beautiful language) which was develoed by Tolkien.

I ahte thinked over lnaguages.

Most beautiful and perfect language ever is latin/greek. Because words can be translated into what they are. Let's take "MAGNUM", it simply sounds like power.

quenian is better!!! and all languages have been thought out (except this stupid and crappy one my friend made, where they just have the normal number of sybols for the english alphabet, and then they just assign 3 sound letters to each that never change (like a is pronounced lak) i hate those!!! they have no meaning, just some linguistic wannabe who has no idea of the true meaning and potential of language)

Natural languages work and sound much better than made up ones.
Title: (no subject)
Post by: DarkElite on February 21, 2004, 06:17:34 AM
that depends on how the language was made and if it was made by some one professional

like Tolkien's, on this site on creating languages it has Quenian as #1 on the top 10 languages thing

as for mine, its my second, but its still cool  B)

I disagree. Natural languages are beautiful because all problems have been taken out over time, and there are many tones of voice and non mechanical actions which enhance meaning, and a made up language can never be so complicated or so beautiful.
