It's more...who has it.  Spyder, Walker, me, and several others already have it, granted for PC, but still.

I may get the PS2 version soon though....Spyder, then I'll likely spend more time playing.

I'm working on it man =(. Had a lot happen this weekend...mainly one of my best friends having his wife tell him she wants a divorce....litterally out of nowhere..., and that she hasn't loved him for the last two years....

Anyways, to add to MJH's list, Disrupter and kaptan have it as well. Mandy over at the TKZ forums just got it also. I offered to give her the World Pass number as well, once I buy it.

actually, i have $65 comin my way due to money lending.....and i've got $30 on me now, then a $103 paycheck.

of course I need to get the network adapter.  and whether to invest in a normal keyboard, or to get the PS2 controller with keyboard built in....probably the former, but even then, I already have a USB board then.

If you already have it for PC, why would you get it for PS2? Is there any difference, headset support perhaps?

I may get it for PS2 because it's the only way as of now to get the HD, and the new Socom II updates look damn sexy.

There is no difference as far as I know other than you can't run it in as high of resolution as on the PC....which is why I really don't see the point in getting it. I think he's getting it more for the HDD, like yourself though.

And Mike, it's not that I didn't believe you would be getting the PS2 version, it's the part about you playing more =D. Why not play it on your PC?

lol, don't worry man, I got it. Didn't take long at all. PMing you now

Mike, why is a TV more appealing? It doesn't look nearly as good as a monitor.

Larger screen, 'specially when we've a 40" TV.

Hmm....perhaps it would be wise to invest in some long lan cable.....

CRT no less....not a projection, that fades and suffers from burn-in, a classic CRT with bright, vivid color, and 40" sw33tn3ss.

Ah. I have a 20" monitor, so it's not bad. A friend of mine might move in with me in a couple months, and he has a 55" HDTV. Problem is that it costs like $30 for the DVI-to-DVI cord to hook it up (at least it does at the store...haven't checked online yet). I could use RCA or S-Video...but it wouldn't look nearly as nice.

if we had a jack for this phone line downstairs, it'd all be wonderful.

well, s-video is better than RCA.

It's amusing though, I actually have to use a DVI-to-VGA converter on my vid card because my monitor doesn't always resync properly on VGA.  I think it can be either the monitor or the card that's doin it....why...I don't know....

BTW, Win2k3 is 90% WinXP with extra server software.

Yeah, that's a bit cheaper, save about $10-12. Thanks for the info. I don't understand why they have to be so damn expensive though. Other extension cables aren't that much. Why did you post the info about Win2k3? And I knew about the S-Video being better...whenever I used it though, it didn't look a whole lot better, though that could have been the TV...it does make text a bit easier to read though.

I remember you intended to download Win2k3....at some point.

And I'm most angry right now....been downloading Longhorn all week to give 'er a try....download won't proceed past 88.32% as of now....

I was? That must've been over a year and a half ago when I said that. I don't see any need for me to upgrade OS' until I get an Athlon64.

the next comp I build will be an Athlon 64....just need to procure a 64-bit Windows.....maybe i'll dual-boot that one with Linux too....

I have Mandrake 8.0 and Red Hat 7.2 (or something) because I wanted to try Linux out. I haven't installed either of them in quite a long time though, and I was wondering what is the point of having Linux if your not running a server? (Aside from making your desktop look really f'ing cool)
Title: (no subject)
Post by: Michael J. Hill on March 27, 2004, 02:24:18 PM
Well, linux's primary intention wasn't server use.

I get that, but you still didn't answer my question  Razz , and until someone makes Linux a bit more user friendly (i.e. you don't have to compile everything you download) it won't be successful for much else.

Im not too fond of the newer FF's....though I thought FFX was good, but not the second...and I also like 8, 6 (or 3), 2, and 1 (all the classics  B) )

not FFVII? I've never played FFX-2, and I don't plan on it. IMO it's a disgrace to the name to make a game like that.....  FFXI is a really good game though. Games are so much fun when playing with other people.

well...i havent played FFVII...yet.....though.... hoobob said he was going to be borrowing 7 and 9 from a friend (i heard 9's people look like they're from popeyes)
.....but yeah, i think it'll be good too, with Seproph and all

FFVII is widely claimed to be one of the best, and to some, the best FF ever created. IMO it's definately the best since coming to the PlayStation. I've beaten FFXIII, I'd give it a 6 or 7 out of 10. I played about 5 minutes of FFIX and put it down. I can't remember why. Final Fantasy Tactics is a damn good game as well. The gameplay is completely different from the rest of the FF series in that its a turn based strategy game, much like Ogre Battle, Tactics Ogre, or Shining Force. I own FFX, and beat it as well. Pretty good game, 7/10.

Tactics ain't bad, I liked IX, VII is great, but I hold VI as the greatest.  I haven't done much with IV....one of those things I fell away from, same with V, haven't played VIII.  FFX-2 isn't as bad as people say, but it is rather low on the ranking table.

Spyder, there is a more userfriendly version of linux out now: Fedora Core 1.

And I now have the HDD fer PS2, POL and FFXI = updated.  I'll likely come on around 8-ish tonight (EST)

What?! Only a 7!? Are you MAD?! It deserves a 10 outa 10! FF8's love story is what most people said sucked, but it was the best part...how they were able to implement you hatred and love of certain characters was amazing!

That's a cool feature, but it doesn't mean the game deserves a 10. It didn't provide any extra entertainment to me.
