For Spyder or whoever updates MS, you should update the Links section....and to make it easier so you dont have to change the logos if the hosted site does, we can all give in the image name, and never change that.

Well, the links site technically "is" updated. I went through it a month or two ago and deleted any dead links, etc. If the site owner changes the address or logo, it's his/her responsibility to notify me of the changes if they want the link/logo changed. I'm fine with linking to logo's off-site if you want. The problem with that is that normally other people's logo's are not 500x100, which is the current size of the banners in the links section. I could force the image to display in that resolution, but it might skew the image, therefore making it look quite bad. I have been thinking of remaking the links section using smaller logo's though.

Heh, I'm not going to scour the net for TK sites to add to the link page though. It doesn't help me or MS by adding links to the page. It helps others gain hits to their website, and therefore, it is their responsibility to ask me to add a link for them.

Well that my idea, if they do, you can add it, but i was also suggesting using the image name to make it easier on you.

In that case, will you add my link to the page? The image is at http://darkforces.mysticsoftware.net/darkforces_logo1.gif (http://http://darkforces.mysticsoftware.net/darkforces_logo1.gif)

Hey Spyder if I made a banner for my site, will you add it to the links page?
Title: (no subject)
Post by: Spyder on May 08, 2004, 02:24:44 PM
Yes to both of you. But you guys should wait until I make the new links page first, so you'll know how large to make the image.

I wonder if I could find the original Godiva banner.

This isn't the original, but it's the oldest one I could find.

I know I have a copy of the original Mystic Software one around....

...well, couldn't find the large one, but here's the animation I made from a scaled down version of it. The animation goes from the super-old banner to one I made with TrueSpace not long after aquiring the site from it's original owner, Lance.

Hey Spyder what size do you think the banners should be? I want to start working on it and all. And speaking of Godiva Alpha, I wonder if your going to finish that game any time soon. You said you needed to be super inspired to work on your game.

The recent improvements to TK3 have got me really excited, and I do plan on working on my game at some point in the near future. Especially if I get character tiles made by Sophia using her tile service.

MS was started by Lance? Who is/was Lance?
Title: (no subject)
Post by: Spyder on May 08, 2004, 04:06:21 PM
He's a community member from back in the day when there was maybe 10 regular posters on the forums. He created quite a few games as well, all of which should be on MS. He started MS back when it was hosted on...Bizland I think. I can't remember if it was on Bizland or Hypermart first. Triuken, who's name is probably much more recognizable, designed the original layout for the site which was used for much of MS's life. The font he used for the original logo is still being used today  Razz

What about him? He was around the community for a very short time, not too long ago (maybe a year or a bit more)

Post by: Dude Man on May 08, 2004, 04:23:55 PM
Yeah...like that Satphopoke guy (I totaly mis-spelled that, dude!) He was supost to run the RPGCode Shack. But then he died. And that old dude who was born 1905. I got board and looked around the member list and checked all the profiles and I saw this one guy who joined along time ago had 1 post and was born 1905, he HAS to be dead by now, because he would be 99 years old, and barely anybody lives that long!

He was some dude who made alot of bogus tile sets...I think I have a few of his!

bogus tile sets? Not sure why you think they were bogus. Anyways, yeah, that's one thing he's famous for, was the 100+ tilesets he ripped. TKZ has most of them. He was also a pretty decent programmer (in both RPGCode and VB if I remember right) amoung other things.

Pricey? I got it for free Wink . I need to upload it again for KnightSh@dow anyways, so I'll post the link here as well. It'll only be up for a few days though, so when I post it, download it quick. It's a 25-30MB file.

It is  Wink . Check out the copyright date on it....2002  . Time flies even when no updates are being made eh?

I can't seem to find the font that I used Number Eight, so you could be right, as draken does sound familiar. I don't seem to have it in my fonts directory anymore.

I already have PSP 8.

What differences are there between the two?
Title: (no subject)
Post by: Spyder on May 09, 2004, 05:10:25 AM
As far as features go, probably not much. I tried PSP8, but the interface was quite a bit different from PSP 5-7, which is what I've been using for years, so I stuck with 7.
