I've enabled HotLink protection on Mystic Software, and all affiliated sites. What this does is prevent files of protected extensions from being downloaded from links on other sites. The only files currently protected are .zip, .exe, and .tpk. This means links to games and resources on sites not hosted by Mystic Software will not work, but the user will instead be redirected to the index page of Mystic Software. Just wanted to let you guys know before you got confused. If you want to put a link to your game on your site (that isn't hosted at MS) or at TKZ, you are allowed to put a link to the page itself that has info and the download link to your game at MS. If you have a website hosted on MS, your links will not be affected by the HotLink protection.

heh.... ok then..... Laughing

Indeed.
Do what I did, Spydie, and put that in the terms of agreement for the hosting. I put something very similiar; "If you wish to link to the file from ouside of TKZ, you must link to the download page now the file itself."
Btw, I'm sure RackHost gives you cpanel to manage your domain, if so, you can add hotlinking protection (ie: only let mysticsoftware.net domain download files).

Same I usealy do that to, heh.

I made one modification though, direct browser access to images - meaning if you type a url into the browser, since it has no refferrer, it would cause a problem with the hotlink (meaning you wouldn't be able to see it)....i just corrected that.

Eh? It shouldn't have, images wern't a protected extension...only .zip, .exe, and .tpk were...those are the only extensions that should've been affected...

Spyder is it possible to make the links for the games go to the page you can download it or can you only make it go to Mystic Software?
