Razz Now everyone is happy!

I acually don't care so much...I don't use Mozilla, I use Internet Explorer. Someday I want to make a web browser called Interweb Explorer Laughing  Razz !

Post by: Number Eight on May 27, 2004, 07:56:46 PM
I use Mozilla because there are a really large amount security holes in IE and Mozilla has a built in pop-up blocker, which came in really handy when I was testing whether Xorlak's imposter guard worked, heh.
Interweb Explorer would be cool, but its really hard to do, i expect.

Security holes? Exactly what do you have on your computer that your so scared of the "hackers" looking at? No self-respecting hacker would waste his time on a basic internet users computer. What would be the point? There is no challenge in that, no reward.

true, but he or his parents (or anyone) might have personal info on the comp. like creds or something...

Anyone that's stupid enough to store credit card numbers on their PC "should" have their computer hacked, and their info stolen....

Heh, I agree! I would still be friends with somebody like that however. I acually want to find out how to make a browser, It would be fun! I would make Interweb Explorer if I could! It would be the funest browser ever! And it would start of as DMD Games as the home page!

Nah, nothing personal, really. It just freaks out my parents when my comp gets hacked and then they take away my internet connection. Razz

lol. Somehow I doubt you were actually being hacked. More than likely it was just spyware or a trojan...which really isn't hacking. I also have a theory that companies that develop firewall software make them generate fake "hacking" attempts so they can justify you buying their software actually makes a difference.

Hmmm....Firewalls can get annoying some times. But I supose there good to have...but the cost money....I don't like that.

WindowsXP has a built in firewall, though I can't say how good it is. Otherwise, I know there are free versions of some good firewalls out there. I personally think that unless your part of some corporation or something, firewalls are almost completely useless.

heh are you so shure??? I fixed #5(The good comp) and when  hooked up our dsl line to it,in less then a min with out doing anything I got the sasser virus.  my dad had to fix it then.

That's good and all, but you don't get viruses just because you log onto the internet, and a firewall won't prevent you from getting them.

Heh, no, firewalls have nothing to do with that either. Basically firewalls are to keep out un-wanted traffic to your computer/network. It can also help to prevent some viruses from completely functioning, but it will not prevent you from getting them.

I don't know if this is technically true or anything, but ever since I started using Mozilla instead of Internet Explorer, problems in my computer have went down considerably. It doesn't restart sponatneously anymore, the pop-up blocker works great, my bookmarks are still there, and everything works like it should. Plus, the tab feature is great so I don't have tonnes of programs in my taskbar. It also seems to work faster than IE, but it does seem to take a longer time to open than IE.

I prefer useing IE. It's basic, nothing to completaic or "fancy" Not being the best, makes it the best.

Don't try and understand what I just said, because not even I do, I have little self control! Laughing
