I don't spam for high counts...

...but I do like post count.

However, if it helps stop spam, then it's required.

And I agree

would it be possible to take away the post count number all together? That zero looks mighty ugly

MJH. I'm not sure if you can get rid of the Posts: 0 thing but I know for a fact that you can get rid of the New thing. And I think I speak for all of us when I say: We don't want the new thing there, get rid of of it, please!

Post by: Vampz on June 28, 2004, 04:35:45 AM
Of course he can get rid of it, just edit the template for view topic. Take about 10 seconds.

Yeah, the "Posts: 0" thing looks wierd, but nowing forums in general, I guess this can't be simply "erased".

Propably you should put post counts to some funny number, like "Posts: 666", "Posts: 256", "Posts: 1618", Posts: 1984", "Posts: 314", etc...

Post by: Asimir on June 28, 2004, 08:22:08 AM
Yes, because all of those numbers are absolutely sidesplitting.

I wonder if he could make us have: 4520 1/2 posts!? That would be funny

Post by: Number Eight on June 28, 2004, 09:36:55 AM
I dont think its possible to have a half of a post. What would that be?
Title: (no subject)
Post by: Woozy on June 28, 2004, 09:59:27 AM
It would be a half of a post Razz

Sorry guys. It had to be done. Should've been done a long time ago really. Anyways, I've modified the usergroups so that everyone displays as "Member" and not "New", with the exception of Admin, moderators, and The Brotherhood members of course. I looked around in the PHP files for a couple of minutes trying to figure out how to remove the part that lists the # of posts, but I couldn't find it. Maybe Mike Hill will have more luck.

I know how to disable it for a proboards account...but that probably wont help, considering this is PHP based.

And I dont really care anyways, everyone knows ive been here since August 2001....well all the old members.

It'll be in the html template for viewtopic, not the php file itself.

There will be like a line of html saying:

Posts: {USER_POSTCOUNT}

or something like that.

But yeah, MJHill can do it...easy enough.

i think the post count should be kept in the member profile.....just not on topics and stuff.........i like to see how active i am, and how active others are.....(not in a bad way, of coarse)

Umm, the main point was to take them away from the member profile so it doesn't promote spam.

I think it was a joke. I also think you knew that, but I guess I'll say that to the people who don't know that, so anyways......I see everyone was changed to Member, but the Posts: 0 still didn't change....
