Welcome to Dark Age Legends, chapter 3 sign ups! Chapter 3 will pick up where chapter 2 left off, but due to the break in the action, this is an excellent point to jump in if you haven?t already. If you haven?t been following the story the entire way through, don?t worry. You are not expected to read the entire RP-- just the summary and guidelines below. However, if you never played in an RP before (particularly this one) you may want to read a random page or two in the middle to get a sense of how everything works. Current players should also read this, as the new rules developed in the middle of chapter 2 are spelled out here.
Theme
A fantasy medieval type deal. Magic is encouraged. Technology should be low (but a few weird inventions are okay). Guns are permitted if you really want them, but they shouldn't be too effective.
Archives
The automatically updated <a href='http://darkage.mysticsoftware.net/dal/viewer.php?id=472' target='_blank'>DAL Archives</a> might be easier to read than the topic on this forum, if you want look back at the story (it?s just a script that reads from the forum database and strips off all the signature, avatar clutter, etc.) This is useful if you want to save some pages to your harddrive.
Background Story (Chapter 1 prelude)
The nation of Romme is located on a mid-sized island, about a three day walk from the northern to southern most point by foot. The castle and capital city are located at the northern most edge. The island also contains a port town and several smaller villages.
King Romme has received word that a mysterious "Black Army" has landed on the southern shore and is advancing straight for the castle... Quite alarmed, he sent several scouts to find out the meaning of this trespassing. None have returned. What could be the meaning of this? The long war with Tjed ended 10 years ago. Could they want revenge? No, the two kings were on good terms now. Finally, a name was extracted: The Dark Empire. Foreign invaders...
The castle was prepared for war. The town was evacuated to inside the stronger castle walls while the soldiers took up their positions just inside the outer town wall. This is where they'll meet them...
Chapter 1 Summary can be found in the <a href='http://ibforums.mysticsoftware.net/index.php?showtopic=765' target='_blank'>chapter 2 signups</a>.
Chapter 2 Summary -- (Edit: See a few posts down)
Dark Age Legends Rules v1.3
There are two types of people in the RP: characters and NPCs.
You can have up to three active characters (who you'll set up here). These are your characters and your characters alone. No one can control them but you.
NPCs are more flexible. Often you?ll see some soldiers, villagers, monsters, or other non important characters. Generally, anyone can create and use these characters. But if someone is using a NPC in a character like fashion, it?s probably best not to control it for them. Generally NPCs die off or leave the story in some way after a few posts, so posting them on the sign-up isn?t necessary.
As far as the story goes, anything can happen as long as it's in good taste and doesn't disrupt the flow of the RP. The only restriction is that you don't control other players' characters. i.e. If you throw a fireball at someone, you let them decide whether they get hit by it or not.
That said, no immortal god-like characters! This is a story, not a game, and there are no winners or losers. Your characters can be strong, but they should have weaknesses as well.
Actions: Each character is limited to two "actions" per post (or three on rare occasions). An action is something your character does. Some examples:
- Attacking another character
- Defending an attack
- Preparing an attack (i.e. for bigger than normal spells)
- Starting to walk/run/fly from one place to another
- Arriving on the scene
- Picking up an item
... etc. Basically use your own judgment. Conversation with other characters doesn't count (so you can talk as much as you want).
Travel: Try and be realistic in the amount of time it takes to get to one place from another. You should never leave one area and arrive in the next in the same post. Places that are farther away should take more posts to get there. I'm not going to spell out the distances between each place we've been to so far, so use your own judgment.
Be descriptive! Especially when you're entering a place of your own design. Try and build off of other posters' descriptions as well. This is important, as it?s easier to tell what?s going on if you know where you?re at.
Try not to post more than once or twice a day... this is mostly so I don't get left behind (heh...).
On the other hand, try and stop in to update at least once a day!
Three day rule: If you are fighting someone and your opponent doesn?t post for three days, assume they were hit by your attack and knocked unconscious (heh?)
No unbounded instant teleportation. If they have the ability, characters can only teleport for short distances, and even that should be used sparingly. No instant transmission from one place to a totally different one.
Characters
To start, post your characters in this thread. Continuing chapter 1 and/or chapter 2 players should repost their characters as well. You should include the following information:
Name:
Gender:
Race: Can be pretty much anything
Age:
Job:
Weapon(s): plus a description, if necessary
Alliance: Whether he/she is aligned with the Romme Kingdom, the Dark Empire, or something of your own design (or no one at all!)
Description: Physical appearance
Bio: A short background. Perhaps just his/her immediate past, but can be more in depth if you want.
Chapter 1 + 2 Bio: If your character was in chapter 1 and/or 2, give a very short description of what he/she did in each.
Here are mine:
Name: Draven
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 25
Job: High General, Eastern Division
Weapon: none
Alliance: Dark Empire
Description:
Standing just under six feet tall, Draven has long black hair tied back at the shoulder and a piercing glance. His armor, black with red trim, is light and flexible. His gloves and boots are dark brown. His cape, dark red on the inside and black on the outside, sports a four-winged dragon insignia shaped out of red lines on the back-- the insignia of the Dark Empire.
Bio:
The overly pompous Draven lead the menacing army that destroyed Romme. He knows basic spells in other elements and some black magic, but his true passion, his obsession rather, is fire magic. He commands the fire element with devastating ease. He does not use a physical weapon, but sometimes likes to form a blade of fire to use as a sword.
In chapter 1:
Draven displays his absolute will to command at several points. He had several battles with the traitor Scorch, who quickly became his rival. In addition to his crimson blade attack, we see a massively destructive gargantuan fireball he conjures when angry, he trademark aura of flame that surrounds him as he gathers more energy, and the ability to levitate himself.
In chapter 2:
Draven receives a message from his emperor and time is running out to find the sword he seeks, but he manages to keep his cool (well, not really?). He has an encounter with a general from the rival nation of Aritan and later meets a new obstacle in his quest for the sword, namely the demi-human Zeros?. After a battle, Draven obtains a fake sword from Zeros? and returns to his ships to await the arrival of the Dark Emperor, totally oblivious to the fact that the real one is still out of his reach.
Name: Iduran
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 58
Job: Knight Captain
Weapon: A normal broadsword.
(Zeros? is now in possession of the mysterious sword Iduran held for the past two chapters.)
Alliance: Romme
Description:
Iduran is a tall man, standing at 6'4". His short, once brown hair is graying with age, although he still has his cold, steely glance. His metalic gray armor is heavy, but he moves in it with ease. His cape is a light blue.
Bio:
The aging Iduran is King Romme's most trusted knight. But he is no longer the invincible warrior he once was. Still, his swordsmanship is unmatched throughout the kingdom. He also has great experience on his side, having credit for successfully ending the war with the nearby Kingdom of Tjed 10 years earlier. He has been put in charge of defending the castle against the impending attack of the Dark Empire. In battle, he relies mostly on his sword, although he does know a few basic spells.
In chapter 1:
We find out that the sword Iduran holds is why Draven attacked. Iduran feels it contains some sort of power, but he does not know how to utilize it. Near the beginning Iduran suffers a wound that plagues him for the rest of the chapter.
In chapter 2:
Poor old Iduran is bedridden for a while and gives his mystic blade to Duilin along with a quest to find out how to unlock its power. By the time he recovers from his wound, he gets transported to Haraldur?s homeland due to a misguided spell. Here, he is poisoned in a venomous carnivorous plant attack and, alas, must rest in bed again?
Note: Due to his poisoning, Iduran will be an inactive character for a while (meaning he can?t do much more than respond to questions). Which gives me room for two more characters?
Name: Jayce
Gender: Male
Race: Human (?)
Age: 28
Job: High General, Western Division
Weapon: An oversized scimitar, worn across the back. The blade is extremely heavy and barely liftable by most, yet he flips it around single handedly as if it were plastic.
Alliance: Dark Empire
Description:
The tall man exudes just one color: black. At 6? 6?, he is completely coved from his neck down in heavy black onix-like armor. His gauntlets are black, his boots are black, his cape is black? His hair (also black) is comparable in length to Draven?s, yet rather than tying it back, it falls wildly across his face and back in spikes. His face is the only contrast to his silhouette of a figure, his skin being somewhat paler than most.
Bio:
Son of the Dark Emperor and heir to the throne, Jayce commands the western division of the empire?s army. Taking after his father, he is master of the black arts, or the shadow element. The violent man loves destruction and hates just about everything else. His voice is somehow refined and brutish at the same time, resembling a British accent.
Name: Neptra
Gender: Female
Race: Human (?)
Age: 27
Job: High General, Southern Division
Weapons: Long thin daggers, usually two at a time, though she keeps several more affixed to her belt and behind her back.
Alliance: Dark Empire
Description:
About five feet tall, her armor is a deep blue, and is lighter than most, leaving her arms and knees bare. Her short cape is a deceptively pleasant cyan and her long flowing hair a dark blue.
Bio:
Leader of the Dark Empire?s southern division, Neptra commands the water element. The flow of any nearby water source can be controlled by her, with devastating results. Probably the most level-headed and least reckless of the three Dark Generals, her diabolical tactical mind is unmatched. She is the only one in the world who can calm the brutish Jayce.
In case you are wondering, the northern forces are commanded by the emperor himself, so there is no northern general.
Note: Any new Dark Empire officers/soldiers should state which of the three generals they follow. Yes it does matter, because they don?t always get along very well (heh?)
Chapter 3 begins in a week or so!

Name: Gyulim Lee
Gender: Female
Age: 25 (or so everyone seems to think...she's really 18)
Race: Human
Job: Archer
Alliance: Aritan
Description: Gyulim Lee has short black hair, and tan skin. She is of Asian descent. Her eyes, brown, soften the hearts of even the most ruthless killers. Her soft touch calms even the wildest beast. She stands about 5'3", and weighs 145 pounds. She wears traditional robes most of the time, pink in color.
Bio: Gyulim Lee is not really a soldier of Aritan, but rather just a civilian. She grew worried about her love, Shin Yong Tsing, and she has fled the kingdom of Aritan to find him. She learned the art of Archery from Shin Yong two years ago, and she also picked up the "Dragon Fist" style from her father. Gyulim Lee is the last living master of "Dragon Fist", and her abilities reflect that. She had been meaning to teach "Dragon Fist" to Shin Yong, but he was so obsessive with his Ice Magic, that she never could.
Name: Shin Yong Tsing

Shin Yong is very well adept in ice magic, and wields this elemental force with great ease. Around him at all times is an aura of ice energy, constantly keeping the area around him at a cold temperature, making his ice spells even more effective. His favorite means of attack is to form a sword from his ice magic and to impale it into the heart of his foes, turning the foe to ice instantly.
He has silver hair and brown eyes. He is always wearing black robes, even in combat. To him, armor makes one weak. He is about 5'11" tall, and weighs about 150 pounds.
Name: Sigilus Dracon
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Race: Human

Gyulim offered him a new outfit to replace his soaked and ratted-out Martial Arts Uniform. He agreed. Now he wears a long-sleeved silk shirt under a green vest with a gold dragon embroided on the back. His pants are made of silk as well, but dyed red.
Description: Sigilus, after a dye job from Gyulim, has metallic blue hair which has been slicked back perfectly. His attire is mostly silk (see bio.) He is about 5'11 inches tall and weighs about 145 pounds. His eyes are bluish-green in color.

Name: Seth Faowind
Gender: Male
Race: Drow
Age: 22 human years
Job: Ex-Monk with Drow magical abilities
Weapon(s): Steel Claws, Falchon
Alliance: Romme
Description: Seth has Plantinum hair that goes about halfway down his back. You often can't see his emerald green eyes behind his hair. He weighs 132 pounds, and is 5 foot 6 inches. He wears A dark red tunic with leather straps on his neck, wrists, and a few on his torso. He has on a pair of baggy light blue pants. He has leather straps on his knees. He wears black boots with a pointy elf toe.
Personality-wise, Seth is anti-social, but will still talk to people. He keeps idle chit chat to an absolute minimum however. It's a bad idea to sneak up on him because he is jumpy at times. Seth is almost always sad. Seth is a pretty deep guy. He gets lost in thought often.
Bio: Seth was raised by the monastry. His parents abandoned him as a child (I know, very cliche, but gimme a break). The monastry treated him badly because he was a Drow, but taught, feed, and clothed none the less. The children in the monastry always teased him about his platinum hair and would never play with him. This is why Seth is anti-social. Fueled by his unhappiness, he trained immensely. He eventually became the strongest person in the whole monastry. His grades in the monastry were poor. He hated working with herbs, almost as much as he hated the monastries god. He was such a great combatant that he taught his teachers a thing a two however. Because of his poor grades, his lack of faith in the monastries god, and his over-all unpopularity, Seth was kicked out of the monastry at the age of 17 human years. Seth knew of his heritage, and knew he had supurb abilities if he could only be taught to use them. Seth often pondered about the creation of the universe, and the existance of a greater being. He knew the monastries teachings of god were wrong, what god would punish him like this? What god would condemn all races but humans? No god worth worshipping! Seth decided to seek out his own race so they could teach him the magic of Drows. He believed if he became strong enough, he could reach the Shrine of Tarrb, which was guarded by many fabled demi-gods. If he could reach the Shrine of Tarrb, all would be revealed. He hijacked a cargo ship and reached the Continent of the Drows. Over a period of 2 years, Seth learned various Drow abilities. He finally set off to find the Shrine of Tarrb. He never found it after 2 years, and now he just wanders aimlessly.
Chapter 2 Bio: Largely accompanied Duilin throughout the chapter. Helped Duilin out in several ocassions and has begun to see the Dark Empire as a major enemy.
_______________________________________________________________
Name: Nevina Seev
Gender: Female
Race: Jin Elf (A race I made up. She's the last of the species. They have a milienium long life span and never get old looking. They tend to be very proficient in White Magic.)
Age: 178 human years (Still very beautiful, Jin Elves stop aging at 17-23 human years)
Job: Jin Knight (A Lightly armored warrior who is proficiant in Curative/Holy magicks)
Weapon(s): A scimitar (The curved, arabic sword) and a Holy Dirk (A dagger), and a Holy Bastard Sword.
Alliance: Romme
Description: A Staggeringly beautiful Jin Elf. She is about 5 foot 6 inches and weighs about 102 pounds. She has Long, straight, Ocean Blue hair (Natural. Jins have odd hair colors). Her hair is about a foot past her shoulders and almost covers her eligant Elven Ears. Her Eyes are Silvery and beautiful, yet slightly creepy. Her skin is soft and has a light tan. She wears a white, tightly fitted tunic with no sleeves. On her neck she wears a silver chain with an odd looking pendant hanging from it. She wears a blue skirt that goes a little past her knees and from her waist hangs a bit of Red cloth with a golden crest in it. Under her skirt the Holy Dirk is tied to her leg. She wears wooden sandals on her feet.
Personality-wise, Nevina is very kind and consiterate. She hates injustice. She doesn't like to be under-estimimated just because she's a woman. She doesn't talk a lot unless she needs to, and she forgives people easily, if she feels they really are deserving of forgiveness, and holds very few grudges. A lot of times she likes to be left alone.
Bio: The Jin Elves lived on the Island even before the Romme Empire occupied it. The Jin Elves battled the Romme Empire when they found the Island, a very long time ago. The Jin Elves lost the Battle due to lack of man-power and shortage of resources.
Nevina was a warrior at the time of the war, and was a Well-Respected Commander. She was argueably the best warrior in the Jin Empire. She slew many Rommes in her days of service.
She holds no Grudges against the Rommes, as the 150 years of time has healed her emotional wounds. After the war, very few Jins were alive, and all of them with the exception of Nevina and two of the Jin elders were alive after a Plague brought over by the Rommes swept the Jin race. Even though the Jins are great white magicians, they did not know how to combat this plague. The Elders died about 60 years ago and since then, Nevina has lived alone. She did occasionally visit the Romme Villages, but kept to herself in the half-Ruined Jin Palace mostly, training her magic and physical prowess.
The Palace is to the far West of the island. The east wing is in ruins from time and battle, but The rest is intact and mostly good condition. The palace is made of Marble and closely resembles Arabic Palaces.
Chapter 2 bio: Nevina basically played Baby sitter for Zeros' children, Qeni and Zev. She has just resently joined with the Romme Resistance.
_______________________________________________________________
Name: Tsar Hi'len
Gender: Male
Race: Outsider (From another plane of existance)
Age: 766 Human Years
Job: Psionic
Weapon(s): Quarterstaff
Alliance: Dark Empire
Description: A 5 foot 9 inch humanoid dressed in a Plantinum Robe with a Black Cloth belt. He has viberant red hair that hangs limpy from his scalp, covering his facial features, yet his coal black eyes shine through the shrowd of hair. He levitates instead of walking and has a well polished Quarter staff made of a great Elm tree strapped to his body by his belt. He is lean, only around 120 pounds. His skin has a odd, light blue tint to it, showing he obviously isn't a human.
Bio: Tsar is from a higher plane of existance than humans. He was summoned upon this realm by the Dark Empire, 13 years ago. He cannot remember any of his life in his home realm, but knows he is not from this plane. He fights without fear, knowing that his death would only send him back to his realm, never to be called upon by this world again. The Dark Empire uses Tsar as a General, one rank lower than Draven. Even though that means Draven can technically command him, Tsar will not aways obey. Tsar resents the fact that they don't have him in a higher rank, for he possesses far superior intelect than any human. Alas, the Dark Empire keeps him as a low-rank General because they don't trust Outsiders as well as their own kind.
Tsar doesn't nessicarily like the Dark Empire, but he is forced to obey the commands of his summoner.
Tsar is capiable of moving at extreme speeds, and though physically weak, he more than makes up for this in his great psonic abilities.
Personality-wise, Tsar is anti-social. He prefers to not speak, and has no care for life in his heart, not even his own. He's pretty much insane, and it's not unusual for him to babble about something no one understands.
NOTE: Tsar is NOT immortal! If you deal a killing blow to him he will not 'die', but he will be shattered from this plane of existance and sent back to his own Realm, and he may never come back. Therefore, even though he doesn't 'die', he is still eliminated as far as the characters in this RP are concerned, so it's just about the same as dying.

Chapter 2 Summary - Haraldur appeared at a village and burned it to the ground. Scorch was still tied chained. Draven tried to find the culprit, but couldnt find him. As Draven began his search, he was interrupted by the Aritan General, Shin. During their battle, they both realized that they were perfect equals in almost every way. As such, the battle seemed pointless. They agreed that they would most likely fight at a later date and time so that an outcome other than "draw" was possible. Zeros' was spying also, trying to find him. Shin appeared and attacked Draven, while Nex started to support Draven. Zeros' flew down and fended Nex off. Haraldur made Trolls appear and break up the battle. Nevina appeared and Zeros' handed off the children, while Duilin and Seth were in hot pursuit of the dragons wisdom.

Scorch, Duilin, Seth and Cheetah fended off the 55 soldiers and Nex kidnapped Qeni and regained his demon powers by getting a drop of blood from her.
Nex sent a letter out, which Zeros' received and he immediately broke off the fight with Draven. Nex and Zeros' fought viciously; but in the end, Zeros' was able to kill Nex by focusing Ki into his palm and making Nex's head explode inside his helmet, later he was buried.
Haraldur took Iduran to his country; after that, the younger Haraldur appeared and escorted Iduran to his country, where there he was able to receive medicine for his posion.
Everyone meet at the cave. Duilin went to town to get supplies and food. Zeros' meet Draven agian and gave him a fake replica of the sword. Draven returned to his fleet and everyone rested for the day.
----
That should pretty much sum it up. If I missed out on anything important, just quote me and replace what I missed.
it's been bolded

Looking good so far! Just one thing:
Veronica, Pophin, Tsar, and Genma: Which division of the Dark Empire are they in? (i.e. Draven's, Jayce's, or Neptra's?) If you want to wait and see the two newcommer's personalities first though, that's okay.
-
LOL, no comments on Sigilus's sudden return?
-
Tsar Hi'len is under Dravens command. He doesn't nessicarily like Draven much though. He might disobay Draven a bit sometimes. Nevertheless, he can't like, attack Draven or anything, and he's bound to the Dark Empire until he dies. Must obey his summoner (To some extent.. ).
-
I think it's time for me to jump in.

Character 2

Bio: Zion is a man who stands for righteousness and good. He was born at the same time as his opposite, Xenai Omega. Alignment: Dark Empire (Draven's division)
Description: Xenai has big blue hair and wears a black headband (Think Sanosuke Sagara) and demonic red eyes. He stands at 6 feet tall and wears black and blue whenever he can. He is very well built.
Bio: Xenai is a man who stands for chaos and evil. He was born at the same time as his opposite, Zion Ultima. As kids, he and Zion were best friends, but they slowly grew apart as their ideals developed, and now they clash fiercely. He is well versed in all kinds of magic, but resents anything of pure light.
I hope it's okay having 3 characters of completely different alignment.
Edit: Changed Zion and Xenai's colors.

You and your comments! (Heh...) Actually I thought he'd come back, since disappearing in the ocean is a lame way to go (heh...)

Whoah, whoah! Lots o' Dark Empire characters this time!
Damn this Sigilius! Reincarnating or what?
Alliance:With the main charactor dude
Who's the main character?
Name: Scorch
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 29
Job: Air Mage
Weapon: None at time
Alliance: Romme
Description:
Once a self-confident, individualistic and powerful mage of Dark Empire, Scorch changed a bit fighting on the "good" side, supporting Romme. He got nervous, he questioned his ability to get what he wanted, he realised his imperfection and how incompotence and methods of work of his new allies anger him - and battles left scars in his mind and body. After Draven's attack and prison, from mysterious mage in dark robes with long hair he turned into bald nervous wizard in ragged robes.
Yeah. Something like this.
Bio:
A powerful Dark Empire mage, which then betrayed his allies angered by one of minor officers (Scorch always considered his own will above military law and never really cared that helping in defeat of his own forces and retreat from battle would equal treason) and lived a life of traveller for a while, but then decided to sneak into Romme using Dark Empire ship to see how the new war of his former country looks.
In chapter 1:
Scorch, being a traitor, tried to offer his support to Romme. Seeing it's fall, he had a longer battle with Draven. He allied with Duilin and Iduran, which then fled as he fought. Finaly, he managed to escape combat, but then fell into trouble again and got captured by the soldiers.
In chapter 2:
Freed from prison by Haraldur, Scorch searched for Duilin and Iduran. Knowing this time that fighting with Draven requires more strength than he has, he changed his goal a bit and aided pthers in defeat of Nex. Seeing his new 'friends', including the Zeros demon he began to hate at first sight, made Scorch a bit nervous and he finaly left with Cheetah to spy Draven.
Name: Cheetah
Gender: Male
Race: Gepardi
Age: 22
Job: Shapshifter
Weapon: Spear
Alliance: Romme
Description:
A young Gepardi, equipped with spear, dressed in traditional robes of his home island country. He can transform into barracuda, gray shark, cheetah, wyvern and ice serpent (with icy breath like after Winterfresh gum! yippie!)
Bio:
An adventurous young Gepardi which travels around the world after leaving his homeland, looking for new beasts to defeat to learn their forms (like Eric in DA1).
In chapter 1:
Cheetah aided Iduran and Duilin and escaped with them to Romme caves. He basicaly stayed there afterward...
In chapter 2:
Cheetah really didn't do much in chapter 2. He fought with Dark Empire army a bit and finally ended along with most other folks in Romme cave.
-
Who's the main character?
I'd say it either Iduran, Duilin, Scorch or Draven. But I'd probally most likely say Draven.
-
Not reincarnated; still alive, but barely.
-
What's going to become of Shin? Will he get killed or something? If so can one of my Dark Empire charactors kill him?
-
Heh, love the Scorch picture.
Freed from prison by Iduran,
Actually it was Haruldur, but it was when he was in god mode and had his part in everything (heh...)
-
Thanks
I'm getting confused and mistakes names sometimes, yeah, it was Haraldur. I meant Haraldur, I have no idea why I typed Iduran... oh well... I'll correct the mistake.
-
Zeros' could be a main character too...well one of the Chapter 2 ones.
-
No; Shin won't die.
-
Ooo. I think the RP will will re-open soon, tomorrow or day after or so.
-
Hmm, I guess we should delay DA legends until after the server transfer... The server transfer should happen pretty soon anyway so new chapter wouldn't last very long before it happens.
-
Yepp.
-
dammit...i'm sick on the first day of school...
-
So? Ive only been to school for 3 days since August 12...
-
Hmm, I guess we should delay DA legends until after the server transfer... The server transfer should happen pretty soon anyway so new chapter wouldn't last very long before it happens.
True, but M.J. Hill's backing up the forum database, so we shouldn't lose anything.
Just need to finish typing out the intro and I'll open it!
-
Xorlak, please wait another week.
-
Very well, it'll open when the server transfer is complete.
-
No! I'll be in school then! And my mom won't let me post on school days! (http://http://eon.ssxh.net/cutenews/data/emoticons/crying.gif) Now I'm sad....
-
You're weird... hmm, I guess then each battle will end up with Duilin unconsious thanks to Xorlak's 3 days rule, hehe.
One more day til' school... dammit... DAMMIT!
Oh well, I guess I'll be able to RP despite the school. Why the heck not?
-
This really sucks....Chapter three might really stink because nobody can do anything, I hate this....Oh well....
-
This is why I like being home skool its gives me more time in my computer .....
((heh thats not how I type...ner....))
-
You've been reading to much of Dippy's posts! No more Dippy!
-
Awww... but why?
-
Galaton, try posting from your school's media center during your lunch shift.
-
MotD: Yes, a grea idea that is, thank you!
Quoaz: It's a bad infulence on you. I had a friend who acted and talked like Dippy, and that kid, is now a drug dealer in Toronto!
-
....oh....*sniff*
-
MotD: Yes, a grea idea that is, thank you!
Quoaz: It's a bad infulence on you. I had a friend who acted and talked like Dippy, and that kid, is now a drug dealer in Toronto!
Was it me..? (Even though I don't live in Canada.. or deal drugs. heh)
-
You might as well open it. And DM why don't you post when your mother goes to bed?
-
Quoaz: It's a bad infulence on you. I had a friend who acted and talked like Dippy, and that kid, is now a drug dealer in Toronto!
Moral:
Talk like Dippy, and you'll get your own business. Don't talk like Dippy, be workless.
-
Zeros': Because I am forced to go to bed at 10, and that is eariler when she goes to bed. And I'd have to keep myself up in bed for along time and then I could post but I'd be extremely tired to get to school because I have to walk 12 blocks and be there by 8. Let's see you do that when your tired.
Ceseque: Ummm....Okay.....
-
LOL mes mesbers tats.... NErrrr....
-
Bah... The host switch is delayed due to a last minute price hike, and Spyder is looking into another plan. Don't feel like waiting anymore, so lets start this thing!
-
I had to alter Gyulim's backstory a bit, but not to the point where it would mess up everything else.
-
Due to temporary inactivity of my 2 characters at a time Wink I decided to make another, third one.
Name: Gelu
Gender: Male
Race: Looks human...
Age: 40
Job: Frost Mage
Weapons: Bare hands.
Alliance: Formerly, Dark Empire
Description:
A thin, bare white posture of an albino wrapped in fur robes, also white or grey, with a funny mongol-style cap/turban (think a skull cap with turban-like material covering back of head). Under the turban, above the scarf covering lower part of Gelu's face, red glittering eyes shine.
Beside white hair, sharp and thick as blades of grass he hides beneath his cap, Gelu is absolutely void of hair in any other part of his body.
Even Gelu's voice has something scary in itself, it's sounds a bit growly but perfectly clear. Gelu generally speaks loudly and slowly.
Bio:
Since birth being an outcast because of his strange look, Gelu has trained to become an effective frost mage. His master used him, though, trying to use new method of giving people magic powers using magical jewels, which not only made Gelu one of most powerful frost mages, but also over-use of cold magic furtherly altered his look and mind. Seeing there's nothing in the world for him but misunderstanding and hatred, Gelu joined the Dark Empire, who happened to be occupying his country's territory for pretty long time.
But there, life wasn't better for him - he worked far and was not recieving much in return. He only managed to become promoted to minor officer, and the ignorance and hypocrisy of his commanders angered him greatly. One night, Gelu fled the camp and lived alone for a long time, hanging out here or there, spending time of meditations, practicing his skills and thinking what to do... Until finaly, he realised, it's time to join forces with Dark Empire again, as tracking it's progress, Gelu realised it might not be best place for him, but with Dark Empire's plan of invading the Romme and stealing yet another artifact it might soon become most powerful of world's forces - and it's best to be on it's side.
-
Name: Ragnar Ingvason
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 20
Job: Rogue spellcaster/fighter/renegade
Weapons: None, except magic ones temporarily made buy himself
Alliance: Formerly Víkingagarđ and formerly Dark Empire
Description:
White skin, black hair (it used to be blonde) and beard, he wears all black, and is usually covered by a black aura. He is very tall, but not only that, he seems to be inhumanly large. His clothes are black and torn, as though these are the only ones he has: always worn, never removed, never repaired.
Biography: Born in Víkingagarđ, he left at the age of 16 and joined the Dark Empire, after being cast out for murders and largescale theft. He was in the Dark Empire for two years, before being attacked because of his murders of prominent officers, including a general (basically, he was too bad-ass for the Dark Empire Razz ). For the past two years he has travelled around, on his own, pillaging and raiding and killing countless people. He celebrates death and carnage as his only "hobby". He is very violent.
He only cares about killing... and style (after all, if you are to be a sadistic murderer, what are you without style?)
-
Oh well. Another character that is:
1. Godlike
2. Viking
Just like I could predict it Razz
Can he also control few thousands of trolls and whole ships of berserks at will, and fly few hundred kilometers in one post?
-
He does things himself, and has a habit of attacking people for no real reason. And I plan for him to die... eventually...
-
Unlike elder and younger Haraldur, which will roam the world with their thousand-men armies and ultimate magics to set oceans on fire.
Propably Xorlak should also limit a number of NPCs you can control Smile
-
Meh, an army really counts as only one very powerful NPC...
-
A godlike NPC, then.
Dammit... You're breaking the limits man...
The army of 20000 was halfway on its speeded up journey to Romme.
Propably there should be some limit on NPCs controlled at time, like 5 or even 10, propably exceptional to Xorlak who plays some sort of "game master" role...
Also, there should be rule of 2 posts per day per character, rather than 2 posts per day...
Ragnar decided to create chaos to attract attention to his arrival. The ice turned black and toxic. And all the trees started burning, causing some ice to melt and then evaporate, releasing a toxic hase around the island.
Yeah, cool, now few things I can say:
1. It's "Dark Age Legends", not "Vikinggard Hero Arena: Haraldurs vs Ragnar"
2. Do you minority complex or what? All spells you cast are of armageddon upon upon whole lands, all your characters are godlike and seem to move faster than teleporting, you control thousands of NPCs at time...
3. RPGs are for fun, not for "I've killed you all I win hahahaha".
4. It's Role-Playing Game, not Army-Playing Game.
-
Zeros' is my own god-like character.
Qeni and Zev are just super fast. They scraficed power for speed.
Genma's power is all in his mastery of the martial arts. Pressure points, special techniques ect.
-
Well, I did say no 'god-like' characters. Heh...
Yeah, lets tone down the "effect all" spells a bit. i.e., instead of "all the trees began to burn", go for "all of the trees around him began to burn". It's a pretty big island, after all!
Also, there should be rule of 2 posts per day per character, rather than 2 posts per day...
You can update each of your three characters in one post. So if each post concerned only one character, I suppose it would be okay. But keeping all the characters in one post saves space and makes the RP a little easier to read. (Really, I'd prefer just one post per day, but I'm not going to restrict you that much, heh...)
The occaisional 20,000 NPCs are fine (as long as it's not overdone). It's not like the emperor and his army are going to ignore them (heh...).
-
None of my characters are any godlike - Scorch beside not being that all-powerful is now weakened, Cheetah was never too strong beside being able to transform, and Gelu is physicaly weak, beside having natural weakness of light due to being an albino.
You can update each of your three characters in one post. So if each post concerned only one character, I suppose it would be okay. But keeping all the characters in one post saves space and makes the RP a little easier to read. (Really, I'd prefer just one post per day, but I'm not going to restrict you that much, heh...)
Hmm... simply, there are often cases where people skip replying with one of their characters or later return to it, which requires some interaction between them and other character, which would usually have to reply with only 1 character.
The whole interaction thing is messed up... people do stuff like this:
A: Casts spell and begins journey to some other location.
B: Looks around and comments situation.
A: Arrives at new location and casts another spell.
Thus, avoiding the "2 actions per post rule".
In real-life RPs, there can be something like players having "rounds", each replying after another in chosen order, but this is impossible through net due to different times of posting etc...
-
Hmm, yes I see what you mean. Heh, maybe I should enforce some sort of RP 'politeness', in which you should wait around to see what effect your spell has and if the target is returning an attack.
-
Do so, because it can get annoying, after, the first time it happens to you!
-
Rule amendment
If your character performs an action that demands a response from another player's character (i.e. perform an attack, ask a question), do not post an update to your character until the other player updates his/her character. Some exceptions obviously exist (see the 'three day rule', for example). If you do something that might elicit a response from multiple characters, use your own judgment. If you are unsure, put yourself in the other player's shoes and ask yourself if you would want to respond to your action.
There you go!
-
Ah ha. Cool.
-
Yeah, especially that Queni and Zev already broke the rule, sort of, I guess, escaping from Duilin and his team (Seth, Scorch, Nevina) as they met them and an eventual contact / battle could begin...
But all right, that wasn't any too significant or interactive event anyway...
-
There you go!
Yes there I go!
I like that rule...
-
Actually...The were fighting with Pophin, and he ran away and the others were fighting Nevina so...
-
No he's talking about more resently....I think.....
-
If so...then they were flying above the cave and then they landed near it, away from Duilins group, but they say em leaving.
-
It's the spooky guy in Duilin's vision
Name: Burail Nex *Evil Grin* (Just call him Nex, but this is his other 'mode')
Gender: Male
Race: Zombie Deamon
Age: Unknown
Job: Soilder General
Weapons: Sickle, Flame Thrower
Alliance: Dark Empire(?)
Description: As tall and wide as he was before. He still wears his old robes, his helmet now reveal's his dead face, He seems to glow in flame and his voice sounds almost the same but seems to echo and terriffy people. He is now almost twice as powerfull as he was before.
Biography: After Zeros' point blank shot in the head, kill him. He was burried by Duilin and Zeros'. Duilin belive that Nex was his friend but in reality he only wanted to kill him. Being a pure deamon means that he is able to be reborn, he now arose from the dead and now want's revenge and finish his unfinished work.
-
Name: Emperor Retan of the Darkness
Gender: Male
Age: 65
Race: Human (?)
Job: Surpreme ruler of "the world" (i.e. The Dark Empire)
Weapon: None
Description:
The Dark Emperor himself, Retan stands at average height. His facial features are mostly hidden by his black helmet, with its two jutting horns. His black armor his covered by his thick black cloak. Large spikes extrude from the plates covering his shoulders.
Bio:
Truly mad with power, Retan has spent his entire life attempting to conquer the entire world. As a result, his empire is the largest in history, spanning some 40% of the planet's surface. His conquest have lessened over the past few years, however, as he has set his sights on collecting some strange artifacts for reasons he has not told even his highest of generals or his own son...
Retan is unparallel in summoning the black arts, though his physical body is decaying with age. Where exactly such a menacing wizard has come from is unknown. Very few know his true strength...
-
Cool Smile
I always wondered whenever the emperor will be some funny, pathetic weirdo or some uber-character...
-
Chapter 3 is now the length of both 1 and 2 combined. Also, the Emporer is here, Iduran is dead, all of Aritan and its people have suddenly disappeared/collapsed/exploded, and maybe more explanation for that can be made up. The Emporer is trying to destroy the whole of what remains of Romme, and whether he succeeds or fails, this seems a good time to stop for a few days and have a summary so that we can make sure not too much has been missed and that we can remember anything that we were doing or quests we were given (how long does it take to go to the cave of a dragon, Dude Man? And you Zeros'? Weren't you supposed to ask this dragon stuff?) Tying up a few loose ends might be a good thing, and pausing for a while might help.
I suggest maybe Chapter 3 should be ended after the big things happening at the moment end.
Does anyone else have any ideas or comments, or disagree with me?
-
I say, that's a good idea, time for Chapter 4! Things are getting, narg...
But first we need to get Veronika and Pophin back down on the ground or something. And get Cyber Wolf to post so Nex can finish his little convo, and go home! And Duilin needs to......
-
Dammit... forget about Pophin and Veronika... I guess chapter will end when Emperor will finish his spell or something willhappen to him Wink
-
Why, forget? Are they going to die!? No!!!
Maybe I'll make them jump off after Seth or something...
-
Oh, also, Xorlak, it appears that the archive is no longer working.
-
Yes, I want chapter 3 to end with a grand finale so to speak, so it may go on for a bit more. It's going to be the end of the story I had planned from the beginning. Chapter 4 will start off as sort of the beginning of a new main story (perhaps after the passage of some time). There's some rule tweakings I'm considering as well.
Yeah, I never got around to figuring out what's wrong with the archives after the server move. I'll get on it soon.
-
That'd be cool actually. Making some time pass.
-
Why would there be a passage of time, what are you thinking of doing with it? Also, what would happen the the characters (positions etc.) during that?
-
Well, a time gap would easier to start another story with, rather than just jumping into the next immediately after the first. It wouldn't be a very long period of time, just enough for the events of the first three chapters to sink into the rest of the world. (Still, this is just a thought.)
What would happen to the characters is totally up to the players.
-
I hope Veronika and/or Pophin will be able to live all the way threw...I need to have Nex get finished off soon however.
And is it okay if I control all 4 of my charactors for awile? Please?
-
Permission granted!

Hoo Hah! Thanks man. But I accualy have a better idea, of what will happen, an evil plan. Just to make the ending cooler for Duilin and such, to get him to have an ultimate fight aswell!

I like that idea, a lot.
-
Same here.
-
As do I!
-
And I.
-
Yeah.
Hey since Chapter 4 is going to be an all new story and such, how about we make it in a new Topic!?
-
Yeah.
Hey since Chapter 4 is going to be an all new story and such, how about we make it in a new Topic!?
Why? Why not just have it all in one place? It is, essentially, the same story, not a sequal.
Besides, we did not make new topics previously.
We should only seperate it is we do as was done with Lord of the Rings: we give each part a name. What was the name of the first one?
-
For what? DAL or LOTR? The first one for LOTR was The Fellow Ship of The Ring.
-
I meant what was the name of the first part of DAL, or what will it be? What do you take me for? Someone who has not read LotR? Insulting.
-
Forgive me...I have insulted the great Haradular.
I dunno...I guess it should be called The Final Weapon, or something to that effect.
-
Forgive me...I have insulted the great Haradular.
I dunno...I guess it should be called The Final Weapon, or something to that effect.
Razz Razz
Hehehe. Yeah, maybe.
-
Thats an oxymoron if you wanted to know...the first chapter being called the Last weapon...

Yeah, I supose so. I guess we could call it The Fall Of Romme, or something like that.
Because did you know, that every Romme person died? All the charactors that were a part of Romme died, Iduran, Patick, The soilders in the cave. All died...
Also I noticed since chapter 3 is longer then the other 2 chapters combined, that all charactors that even started in chapter 3 are main charactors!
-
And every citizen of Romme will be dead...
-
Meh, well Draven and Nex killed alot of them and all so, I guess there isn't much to be lost.
He Xorlak, can we have 4 charactors in the next chapter? I don't think alot of people will go all the way to 4 charactors, but you know, just in case!
-
Meh. I'll probably only make one more character, since I killed off Qeni and Zev (technically, even though they were already dead)
-
Nah... 3 characters is enough.
For next chapters, I guess I'll also have to make some new characters... Due to unfortunate death of Scorch, an almost sure death of Gelu hanging in the air, and deparature of Cheetah (altough he might return, I like this guy).
-
I'm might keep Duilin, but he probally won't be my main charactor anymore. I'm planing on haveing these two comical twin dudes, some Ice Warrior guys. I'll probally might have myself be in it, I supose, but only if we can have 4 charactors.
-
I'm thinking about doing the character limit in a different way. More details later...
-
Ooo! Smile I like the sound of that!
-
That's the end of 3! That was certainly the most fun chapter yet (heh...). I'll probably have chapter 4 rules/signups up by the weekend after this (~ Nov. 20-21st).
-
Yeah! That was awsome! I can't wait untill chapter 4! It was funny, because as soon as I read the your post, the song Hero, from Spiderman 1, started playing on my MP3 list that I was listening to, the music that was palying after that and such, was like, end credits music and stuff...
Anyways who do you think was the the mainest charactor, if there was any. Not to brag, but I think Duilin was. Maybe or Zeros', but he wasn't around to much at the start. But defently, the top 5 main charactors were Duilin, Zeros', Scorch, Iduran and Draven. And if this was a movie at the top of the credits Draven would most likely be at the top, since he was the most main bad dude.
-
That was a great chapter, though. Many people died in that chapter. I think over half of the crew died in that chapter.
I already have a dramtic enterance for Zeros' and Genma ready for chapter 4 though. Heh...
I think everyone that played a major part was a main character. I really think it would be a great idea if someone could arrange the story so it was more book like. I tried many times, but I couldn't get the feel right.
-
Let's put it this way. Duilin, Zeros', Genma, Cheetah and Nevina were the only ones who lived.
Oh yeah, and Eon's charactors to...whatever there names were, I never payed any atteion to those guys to be honest. -_-
So guys, I've decieded that Duilin is probally not going to be my main charactor anymore, he's kinda sucked up enough spot light from the last 3 chapters. Laughing
-
Of course Im gonna make a new character for chapter 4, but you'll just have to see who it is!
-
Well, sort of, one of my characters is alive. He is the new Haraldur, all my three old ones in one.
Everyone always forgets me...
-
Hmm, "end of dark empire" at the end of this chapter? Doesn't Dark Empire still control half of the known world...?
Anyway, cool. Wink New chapter, new action, new places to visit - yippie!
I guess I'll have to think over some new interesting char...

Well, I can't really imagine you could ever kill your character because all of your characters can use a shield to defend from all attacks and fire catastrophic spells back at the attacker and if this fails, they can still fully regenrate themselves in fraction of a turn, if this fails, I guess they can also ressurect themselves.
-

End of the Dark Empire "as it was then known". The Emperor, the single heir to the throne, and the high generals have been suddenly taken out of the picture. What do you think is going to happen? That will be accounted for in chapter 4, of course (heh...)
-
Woohoo! Interesting... ness...
I cannot wait... Why do we have to wait so long? Razz
-
He probally needs some time to clean his weapons and bury all those dead bodys. More people died in that then Hamlet.
Well, really, he probally needs some time to think about a good story and such, since the Dark Empire is all gone. Am I right? Do I get a cookie? Razz
-
Heh, yeah that and this upcoming week is going to be insane for me work-wise. So it'll turn out better this way.
-
Yeah.
I am looking forward to the (longer than before) Chapter 3 summary.
-
Me three. But it would takes weeks to write Razz !
I bet that Chapter 4 won't be as long as Chapter 3. It shouldn't be anyways, because Chapter 3 was like one of those Final things I supose, since it was the fall of the Dark Empire, and such.
-
*Ahem* Yes, about that... Any volunteers on writing the summary? (Heh...)
-
Eh...not really.
-
Volounteers? Yes, of course there is one...
*points at Haraldur*
-
Awww damn.
Besides, you cannot count on me being impartial Razz ... hehehe.
Meh, the summary is the highlight of the signups.
-
Good Haradular is doing it. Just I should not, because I was away for alot of it and all, so I don't know alot of stuff that went on, (Also I didn't pay attiention to half of the other peoples posts Wink )
-
Damn, pressganged.
-
Yeah, well good luck with that man
*pats Haradular on the back and gives him a quater and walks away*
So anyways. Xorlak, you said the charactors thing will be differeny, but, how can you do that really?
-
Don't worry about it Dude Man. Xorlak will think of something.
-
Already have it planned out. Just need to formalize it and type it out (when I get the time, that is, heh...). You'll see!
