Title: (no subject)
Post by: Mark of the Dragon on August 23, 2004, 08:07:11 AM
Ever since the world began turning
the realm of the gods remained sealed
as the almighty ones watched over us...

Once a century, seven children are gifted
with the power to open the portal to the realm
and to create a period of great blessings...

However, the realm of the dead has cursed another
seven with a similar power. When used, the evil
portal opens, and the underworld is free to overrun
the living world.

Only once was the dark portal open. Nobody remembers
how it was sealed, nor does anyone know how
humanity was able to survive. The only thing that
the books speak of is one last warrior standing.

This is the time where the seven light and seven
dark children have been given life and matured
into fine young men and women.

If the dark portal should open again, the gods
fear that no force in the living or divine realms
can stop the great evil that lurks on the dark borders...

Not bad. It could use a comma between "dead" and "curses" in the third paragraph though, otherwise it starts to sound like your talking about "dead curses". Also, how would the first seven children create a period of great blessing, if at the same time, another seven children are causing chaos?

The children themselves don't cause it; they just have the gift/curse of opening the portal when gathered there.

The only way the dark portal would be opened would be if there was somebody in the living world who forced them to gather at the portal.

By the way, I edited the third paragraph.

Hmm, ok, that's starting to get more interesting. And yeah, your edited paragraph works better.

Alright guys, I need input on a battle system. So far, I have these things decided:

-RUSH (limit breaks fueled by Andrenaline status)
-Andrenaline (x2 on all stats, 1/2 def., rush available)
          -Active at < 1/8 hp
-Fatigue(1/2 all stats; no criticals possible; 1/5 miss rate)
          -Active at 1/8 HP - 1/3 HP
-Status Effects Listed Below-Heart Rate (so you can't just use power attacks the whole time)
-Stats pop up in a window when a player's turn comes up
-2 Character Support
-3 Enemy Support
-ATB System

Hey DM...why not just find a ROM of it? And the only one for it is Zelda 3: Links Awakening (Gameboy) or Zelda 3: Link's Awakening DX (Gameboy Color)

Umm, Zeros...it's technically Zelda 4...

Let me run through them for you:

1 - Legend of Zelda (NES)
2 - Zelda 2: Adventure of Link (NES)
3 - Legend of Zelda 3 - A Link to the Past (SNES)
4 - Legend of Zelda - Link's Awakening (GB/GBC)
5 - Zelda 64 - Ocarina of Time (N64)
6 - Zelda - Majora's Mask (N64) - dumbest one ever
7 - Zelda - Oracle of Seasons/Ages (GBC; hidden shop for GBA)
8 - Zelda - Wind Waker (GC)
9 - Unnamed Zelda Game with GROWN-UP Link (GC)

I can't wait for the new Zelda. That's the game that will probably finally get me to buy a GCN. Before Ocarina of Time was made, it was actually supposed to look like the new one will, where you play grown up Link.

Um Ocarina of time was remade for GCN also so you might want to fix that. lol

And you right, Majora's Mask was the dumbist one ever,I didn't even play it!

And if the rumors are true you get to ride Epona still in the unamed one!

So? Link to the Past was remade for the GBA, and I didn't include that.

And by the way, the rumors are true. You do get to actually ride Epona, as well as cut down on enemies while riding. They are using the same engine that they used in Wind Waker...just no cell shading or childish link (thank god!)

Whats so bad about cell shading?
Title: (no subject)
Post by: Mark of the Dragon on August 26, 2004, 03:38:47 PM
It was childish...and didn't take advantage of GC's power.

graphics don't make the game

did any of you even play through the whole game of Majora's mask?

not me and on WW I'm almost to the last boss. I feel it showed a plenty of power for the GCN,I also agree with Tosoto.

If there's no cel-shading, how is it the same engine?

And Tosoto, graphics may not "make" the game, but they can definately break it, and IMO, cel-shading was a bad idea on Nintendo's part. I think they thought so as well, which is why the new Zelda will not be cel-shaded. Just because graphics don't make the game doesn't mean it's ok to have crap graphics. New game consoles don't increase the story of a game any. nor do they increase the available features in a game much, that's why the main reason to buy new consoles is to get games with better graphics. You could put Windwaker on the N64 and have the exact same story and features...and pretty close to the same graphics, if not exactly the same, without much problem.
