phpBB : Critical Error
Could not connect to the database
Well Um I was just wondering
-
Indeed.
-
*Sigh*
I'll have to stay here for a while.
-
Ya Razz
-
No, it says:
MySQL Offline::
The server the site is hosted on is currently having some issues with the database software - this matter is out of our hands and until resolved the site cannot operate. Please be patient - I apologise for any inconvenience caused to your online experience.
SO we just need to wait.
-
Yeah.... seems they put up something to explain the problem now, so us untechnical peeps can understand Razz
-
Lol.
-
I guess TKZ Members will hang here tell TKZ comes up.
-
Happens.
-
Sucks, don't it? I'd probably just waste there anyway.
-
They're prolly using it as a excuse to make the server slower, so they have Xavier pay more so they can upgrade it.
-
Ironically, this is the server I "was" planning on moving to. I even purchased an account already, but it's been four days and I still haven't received my username and password, nor have they replied to my help ticket.
So much for customer service.
What's also funny is that they guaruntee 99.5% uptime for Vampz' particular hosting plan. I suppose this is the .5% for the year eh?
-
Pathetic, isn't it?
-
Well, like Vampz said in a different thread, he'd had flawless hosting for 6+ months up until this week. It's not as if Rackhost.net doesn't have it's problems (like MS going down for an entire week...) and they have an entire staff of people...
-
Sheesh TKZ goes down so many times, Much more then Mystic Software. They should probally have the fourm seperate from the site, like this one, it would probally fix probloms and such.

Sheesh TKZ goes down so many times, Much more then Mystic Software.
A nice myth.
Probably due to the fact it's much, much, much more active and so the strains are often higher. 2gb transfer per day and all that.
And I would setup seperate forums - but the issue IS NOT the online availability of the site, but the fact the database cannot be accessed. eg: sinnovations.toolkitzone.com works fine, since it doesn't access a database.
MS has gone down before...but it's less noticable since the entire TK community doesn't visit it all the time.
The last time we went down was for 2 days at the end of May due to bandwidth constraints.
We went down for another day 2 weeks ago while we transferred servers, the site was closed - not down.
A total of, say, 7 days downtime in 9 months is 97.65% uptime which isn't 99.9%...but it's not awful.
NOTE: I'm not making excuses: I'm pretty angry it's down and doing all I can to get this to be fixed (even setting up a mirror). But don't take it out of context and exaggerate things.

Hey Joeboxers, I posted this on the TKZ forums but since thier down here ya go for the title screen you wanted. I didn't know if you got it or not.
