Title: (no subject)
Post by: Mark of the Dragon on September 14, 2004, 05:04:42 PM
Alright, Homecoming is about a month away, and my girlfriend might not be able to go. As such, I'm kind of in a fix. If it turns out that she can't, I don't know if I should go alone or just take someone else.

She told me I can take someone else, but I can't be sure if she's testing me or not. What do you guys think? Should I just go alone, or take another girl?

I have a girl in mind, by the way.

Well...that depends realy... Who is the girl?

as for the testing part...she probly is... But thats my opinion...

I'll save my vote for a bit.... But I'm leaning twords going alone...

The girl I'm thinking about taking is Elaine Lau, a very cute chinese girl in my History class. She and I are friends and all, and when she and I first talked to each other, anyone who observed would have thought we were best buds for years.

And how are things going with the other girl that can't make it? all of these factors count. lol

Things are great and all; she just doesn't have anything to wear, and she can't afford to buy a suitable dress.

I'm with quoaz on this one. You can get homecoming dresses for under $100. Check out department stores like Sears and JC Penney. I'd really try anything you can to go with your girlfriend. If it's just not possible for her to go, then I personally wouldn't go either. I'd stay with her Wink

If you value your relationship at all, you will not go with another girl period. Your girlfriend will get jelous, and rightfully so. 99% of the time, guys are not "just friends" with other girls. There is always part of you that likes the other girl.

The thing is, I'm tight on cash as well, and I can't afford to buy her a dress. All I can do is buy two tickets to HC (I already have my stuff for homecoming.) I've been waiting for HC for a while, and I'm not going to give it up. Cassie and I already discussed that.

heh, then I say,Sell a ticket after they run out.Use the cash you get on a date with her,And go to the homcomming alone if thats ok.... or just keep looking for a cheap dress that she wants.(A girl and a cheap dress...is that posible?)

Reselling tickets is rather cheap...

And no, it's not possible to find a nice dress that's totally inexpensive.

I guess I'm goin' alone...but then again, I have a whole month to reconsider.

It's homecoming...we're supposed to dress in semi-formal clothing...

So that means new cloths? I'm confused as I'm home skooled... LOL

I have my homecoming outfit from last year, and it fits perfectly, so I'm set. As for Cassie, well, she doesn't have a suitable dress, and she doesn't want me to have to buy her clothes for her.

Oh I see.... Well....If you go alone then that just makes her a little jelous. But going with another Girl is About 5 times as bad,so your best bet is to stay with her or go alone...

Lol, she wont get jealous if I go alone. This is just a dance; I'm allowed to go to those without my girlfriend keeping me on a tight leash.

If you can try leaving the dance early and visit your g/f, you'll miss out on the great last dance, but it'll be such an awesome guesture to her.  Say something like, "It didn't feel right without you there" she'll melt in your arms, trust me.

You don't seem to understand. Your are cheating on your girlfriend by taking another girl to prom. You don't have to have sex with her or even kiss her, it's still cheating. Your taking a girl that is not your girlfriend to a dance because your more concerned about "your" temporary happiness than what's best for your relationship. Put yourself in your girlfriends shoes...not the high heels though. Think about if you were the one that didn't have a tux/suit for prom. Your girlfriend really wanted to go, so she decides to go with another guy because you can't afford to go. How would that make you feel? You'd be fine with it? Bullshit.

Matt, it would be far better if he simply didn't go to the dance at all, and did the same thing you said. If he suggests that he's going to go with another girl, his girlfriend will feel like shit, and then probably very angry.

MotD...why don't you just break up with her and get it over with...H/S relationships don't last anyways; and your obviously not into this girl...

You should tell your girlfriend that you're going to go with the other girl, but really just sit at home on your own the whole night.

Cassie and I talked about it, and she's cool with me taking this other girl.
Title: (no subject)
Post by: Spyder on September 15, 2004, 09:19:04 PM
Of course she's going to act as if she's ok with it! She doesn't want you to be mad at her, but believe me, if she actually cares about you, she probably feels like shit right now. I honestly can't believe you think what your doing is ok. On the other hand, I really should expect it. Your exactly the kind of guy that gives the rest of us a bad reputation because you don't give a shit about anyone but yourself.

*sigh*

Look, I'm not gonna go alone and look like a fool, and since Cassie can't go, I'm left with only two options: Take someone else, or don't go at all. But then again, I've been looking forward to HomeComing for a whole year now, and I'm not gonna pass it up. My last option is to take someone else, and just go as friends, ya know?
Title: (no subject)
Post by: Mark of the Dragon on September 15, 2004, 09:23:43 PM
Besides, I already told her that I'd make it up to her when Prom comes by this year.
Title: (no subject)
Post by: Spyder on September 15, 2004, 09:25:40 PM
That's nice. What the hell are you talking about you've been looking forward to it all year? It's a dance that fills up a couple hours of your time, and is gone immidiately afterward. You already went last year! How is this year going to be any different? It's sad you think it's more important to spend a couple hours at a dance than save your relationship with your girlfriend. I imagine that this kind of behaviour will probably repeat itself a hundred times over in the future though...

I'm gonna try to take Elaine, and since I've officially made up my mind, nothing anyone says can change it unless Cassie explicitly tells me to do so.

Lock topic, please.

Better yet, delete it.

I didn't read the replies or the original post...but here's my view...

Not one of my favourite episodes, mind you the only good thing about that year was the Mayor.

If you remember school was ending and everyone's under pressure. Buffy misses getting her yearbook picture taken, then challenges Cordelia in the run for homecoming queen. Scott breaks up with Buffy, while Willow and Xander share a passionate kiss. Mr.Trick kicks off "Slayerfest '98".

...

...

...

Oh wait, we're not talking about Episode 5 of Season3, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, entitled "Homecoming"?

Bollocks.

Well.

...

Consider this a lesson on Buffy history.

...

Bygones.

I'm not talking about the kind of friend you just talk to in class. I'm talking about if you a a female friend you hang out with regularly after school/work, etc. I'm also not saying your in love with them, I'm saying you probably wouldn't hesitate to date them if the opportunity arose.

Accually a few to tell you truth. Three of them I would hesitate, one of them is the girl me and Quoaz were talking to. You remember her Quoaz right? It was today.

Just don't tell her I would hesitate, she thinks to much of herself.

Judging by the way you guys are describing her, your not actually friends, she's just someone you know... Also, I should've added that if you do actually consider them "just a friend", it's the girl that likes you.

I wasn't aware you two knew each other in R/L...

Males and females can easily be friends without being anything more...

If they were both (Editor: Censored), you wouldn't expect there to be anything more than friendship. If they just don't like each other any more than as friends, it's just the same....

I'm not saying they can't be friends without being anything more. I'm saying that one of them has or had at least some interest in the other, even if it's not enough to act upon.
