Okay, rules for the RPing (role-playing) board:

1) First and most importantly, the RPing board is for FUN. You come here to have fun. Remember, this is supposed to be fun.

2) Only mild swearing allowed and only when it's in-character. (When you are playing the part of a character.) And make sure it's appropriate.

3) We don't want spam! Don't start a topic saying, "Hello!1!11 are you there", or "This sucks." What you think is valid, but don't waste space on this board. Especially on this board, as each topic is very important. (More on that later)

4) Try to have background on a world or scenario in the first post of a topic. For instance, if you are making an RPing topic where you and 5 other guys will go and defeat a demon, make sure you have provided info that could be useful. For instance, who is this demon? Where is the demon (if you don't want that to be a secret)? What is the name of the world or immediate surrounding area? What is your overall quest? Now, this applies mostly only to a certain type of RP I'll talk about which I like to call a "gather and go" RP.

5) Try to use proper spelling. It's a preference for most people. If you want to get your idea across to many people, you have to at least try to use proper spelling. Also, correct punctuation usage wouldn't harm anyone.

6) Be courteous. Unless it's in your character's nature, of course. But don't start flaming people when you are in out-of-character (or OOC) mode (when you aren't playing as your character).

7) Please don't POWER role-play. In other words, don't make your character so freaking strong nothing can stop him. It takes the fun right out of the RP. If your character does become really strong (and he should never be invulnerable or be able to kill EVERYTHING), at least make it over an extended period of time.

Cool Don't kill off other people's characters. This is a big one. Unless they give you permission, it is rather rude to kill other people's characters. It is...distasteful. You may kill your own characters, if you wish. But try to attach some story or emotion along with it. Make it...tasteful. This mostly applies for "gather and go" RPs.

9) When controlling characters you did not create, try to make them agree with the creator's vision of them. For instance, if a person makes a character that is supposed to be very serious and never talks unless in battle, don't have him cracking bad jokes every 2 seconds. It's not fair to spoil other people's characters like that. Once again, this also mostly applies for "gather and go" RPs. But it makes sense in the other style of RPing, a chain story.

10) You can have as many characters as you want. The usual unspoken law is that a person has but one character per RPing topic. That ensures that the story doesn't get too cluttered with characters. It is best to stick with this, but if the story is low on characters or you have this really good idea, then check with the creator of the topic before adding the character in the story.

11) Your character can be absolutely anything you want. It can be any gender you want, any race you want. Some stories, however, specify the types of people they want in them. For instance, a futuristic RP topic will probably not want elves and magical gnomes wandering about with swords. You get the picture. But don't think you are restricted because of who you are. You can play a female if you are male or vise versa. stuff like that.

12) ALL TOPICS ARE IMPORTANT! This rule is important because of the fact that topics in an RPing forum will most likely involve several people and are supposed to be extended for a long period of time, unlike topics in the general forums which end at the bottom of the page near the end of 1 day. Because of this, it is best to join topics rather than flood the board with a lot of them. If you see a lot of open topics that are waiting for other people to join, then join those topics, don't go and make a new one.

13) *New Rule* No 'humour' bios. While they may appear funny to you, chances are, they aren't. Any Bio deemed useless or a waste of space will be deleted, and a PM will be sent to the author telling them of this. Thank you for your cooperation.
