How the hell did that happen? We barely have 1/4 of that many active users...

Yeah, definately could have something to do with the timezones. Although the forum is set to GMT now, I only recently changed it to reflect that. It used to be set to EST.

Perhaps someone logged onto multiple computers just to make us all wonder...

(If you're hinting that it was me... you're wrong!)

On a side note, TKZ has this:

Most users ever online was 66 on Sun Aug 01, 2004 8:40 am...

I also find that impressive, but it's probably not as amazing as the MS forums since the TKZ is more active...

TKZ has grew more than I realized...

Active users counts guests, and guests log multiple "counts" if they visit various pages even if the IP is the same. The 66 at TKZ, well only 39 were online users, and most of the remainder, 15+ of the 27, the same guest browsing the forums.

So likelyhood is the same with MS, maybe only 10-12 active users and the rest the same guest visiting loads of pages on the forum.
