When I try to upload a new avatar, it says:

<span style='font-family:system'>"The avatar upload failed. Please contact a member of the staff to rectify the problem"</span>

 Perhaps Spyder could fix this?

I'm not sure if we've ever allowed for avatar uploading to the server. If we do, then Mike Hill's the one that will have to fix it. I only know the basics of these forums. You should be able to link to images hosted on your own website though.

Spyder, just go into the FTP, the the folder "ibforums" and find the folder "avatars". Use the FTP menu command CHMOD and set it to 777.

That will allow files to be uploaded there.

Ahhh, sometimes, it seems like Japenese when
people talk about complicated coding like that.

Yeah, same to me. I have no idea how to use FTP commands. I'm guessing Vampz is just talking about setting folder permissions though, and I know how to do that through the websites control panel.

Edit: Fixed. Had to edit the path to the uploaded images as well.

Me three! Infact, the only codeing I know is RPGCode, and the Game Maker, but, that's not really much of a code, is it?

Dude Man: Yeah. I'm decent with RPG Code, and I use Game Maker
a bit, but to tell the truth, I'm not really good with it since
I don't play many platform games anymore.

Spyder: Cool! Now I can upload the original avatar for DMM!
There. How's my new avatar?

Setting CHMOD isn't coding, guys. Razz You log into your FTP program (which anyone with a site uses) and typically right click the folder and select "CHMOD" then enter 777.

Amazingly simple Wink.

Never thought it was coding really, I just don't like using command line stuff, which is what I thought you were suggesting. GUI's are much easier.
