In Iceland the concern is opposite: the concern is that all the programmes in English in Iceland are having an affect on the language, which is why there are strict controls on the language: they make up new words for inventions, for example a radio is a útvarp (which means to cast out as in to broadly cast as in broadcast), a TV is a sjónvarp (image cast) and a computer is a tölva ( from the name for machine, völva, and the name for number, tala).
