The purpose of having signed up at mysticsoftware is to have a repository of my images and TK related files. Well, my patchv1.0-1 and 1.0-2 are both hosted at mysticsoftware through my account(piarts), so whenever i want others to download them i just put up a link.
Now i can't do that.Sad The link transports me to MS Home page!Perhaps this is the result of MS's upgrade of security?
Spyder, help me...if i can't link to my own files, what's the purpose of me having a repository host? And how will i get people to download my files hosted at MS?

Ok...apparently I need to ammend the hosting policy a bit. Your account on Mystic Software is not supposed to be used as a file repository. You should have a website there, along with your files. Patches should also be hosted on our games server, along with the patches for all the rest of the games. I enabled HotLink Protection on Mystic Software and all it's affiliated servers and sites when the Toolkit Zone released it's Games section because I do not want people directly linking to files hosted on Mystic Software, for obvious reasons. It costs me quite a bit of money to keep this site, and sites hosted under it, running year round, at no cost to the community. I provide hosting for those who need space to host their website because they don't have space of their own, or because they hate dealing with ads, and crap free web hosts as much as I do. If I let people host their games here, at no charge to them, and let them link directly to their files from other websites such as the Toolkit Zone, what would be the point of having the website in the first place?

Technically I should give you a certain number of weeks to create a website on your account here at MS, or ask you to remove your files, and then disable your account...

However, I'm a nicer guy than some people think, and because our Terms of Service did not specify anything about your account serving as a file repository, and because I've never had a problem with you or your team, and I think your game is an excellent, if not the perfect example of the power of the Toolkit; I'm going to cut you a break. I will add your website to the HotLink Protection "Ignore" list, which will let requests for files from your website pass through, without redirecting you to the homepage. I will do this for you, and you alone, and linking to files from TKZ or any other site will still not work, only from your website.

I'm also going to have to ask you to have your patch files moved to our games server, which will also let your website access your files. The patches must be moved to the games server because of bandwidth reasons. Also, now that I look at our hosting page, I'm not sure if your aware of this, but normally your account on MS should stay under 10MB's in size. I'm not sure if your going over this, but if your hosting a couple of patches, as well as other files, I'm sure it's possible.

Just wondering....why host your site on Netfirms when MS is ad-free?

Also, since I'm doing you a favor, do you think you could do me one by adding a link to Mystic Software on your links page using the image URL I've included below? Smile

if you notice, my links section is undone. I have been collecting links and that includes MS. Also, i had a lot of references to MS at the Freija Release news Smile
Yes. But to be fair, i'll construct a homepage for my MS site.Smile
I'll see what i can do about the patches though, i just transferred the patches to my netfirms host, so there's no need for external links.
I'll add the banner and perhaps complete my links list this weekend. The network on my workplace is under a firewall and is using a proxy server. I can't get around it so i can't use ftp's Sad But at home i can, so...just wait this weekend:)
Also, i'll put up an ad for MS on several pages.

I just wanted to make clear that I'm only asking for the banner...not demanding, lol. You don't have to paste MS banners all over your site or anything, but if you feel compelled to, go right ahead. Razz
