Yes, although this should be fairly obvious, if you receive an email from a "staff@mysticsoftware.net" or something similar that asks you to open an attachment ending in .PIF, ignore and delete it!

Okay, I'll be sure of that. Just why are these e-mails going around?

Someone probably has a virus or spyware on their computer, which transmitted their Outlook Express address book to someones computer, which then sends out emails appearing as if they are from hosting@mysticsoftware.net, all MS email addresses begin with a persons username.

I don't check my e-mail that much, but I'll still watch out.

Spyder is having fun trying to sabotage our computers while Xorlak spoiled his fun by warning us about the whole action.

Yeah, it's been going for a while. I've also received one from xorlak@mysticsoftware.net, plus I receive about 30-40 virus e-mails a day anyway from lots of sources. I know some toolkitzone.com virus e-mails have been spoofed too, since I received one or two.

Luckily Norton Anti-Virus catches them all and auto-deletes, but still - very annoying.

I receive roughly the same amount of spam emails. None of them have attachments though, so I'm pretty sure they're not viruses. MS emails used to not get spam until one of the old email addresses started getting it (because more than likely the person was an idiot and used it to sign up for porn) and now my inbox gets flooded with it. I'm not sure about the rest, but I think it may be localized to just me, since I check the hosting address account as well, and nothing gets sent to it. RackHost had superb spam catching software though, and when enabled, eliminated virtually all of it, but since going to Netspace, it all started coming back again, and I had to download Mozilla's Thunderbird email software, which works fairly well at detecting and deleting it.
