Welcome to Dark Age Legends, chapter 8 sign ups! Chapter 8 will pick up where chapter 7 left off, but due to the break in the action, this is an excellent point to jump in if you haven?t already. If you haven?t been following the story the entire way through, don?t worry. You are not expected to read the entire RP-- just the summary and guidelines below. However, if you never played in a forum RP before (particularly this one) you may want to read a random page or two in the middle to get a sense of how everything works.

Current players should read the new story guidelines near the end.  The rest of the rules are unchanged.

Theme

A fantasy medieval type deal. Magic is encouraged. Technology should be low (but a few weird inventions are okay). Guns are permitted if you really want them, but they shouldn't be too effective.

Archives

The automatically updated <a href='http://darkage.mysticsoftware.net/dal/viewer.php?id=472' target='_blank'>DAL Archives</a> might be easier to read than the topic on this forum if you want look back at the story (it?s just a script that reads from the forum database and strips off all the signature, avatar clutter, etc.) This is useful if you want to save some pages to your harddrive.

You can also download the entirety of <a href='http://darkage.mysticsoftware.net/dal/DAL.zip' target='_blank'>chapters 1-3</a> in a single ZIP file (400 KB). (I don't have chapters 4+ in there yet.)

Background Story (Chapter 6 prelude)

It has been five years since the chaos has subsided and the near end of the world.  The planet (Gaian) thrives in fertility once more.  The Dark Empire has disappeared, replaced by a much smaller yet no less fearsome Crimson Empire based on the Terius content (a.k.a. The Dark Continent).  New kingdoms have sprouted across the world, replacing formerly subdued lands.  It is a time of peace and rebuilding...

Of course, not for long...

Dark Age Legends Rules v1.6

There are two types of people in the RP: characters and NPCs.

You can now have any number of active characters, just don't go overboard (or I'll do more amending!). These are your characters and your characters alone. No one can control them but you.

Creating Characters

The level restriction is gone.  Just post your characters and be fair (see last section).  You can create new characters at any time during the RP, not just during the "sign up" period.

NPCs

NPCs are more flexible. Often you?ll see some soldiers, villagers, monsters, or other non important characters. Generally, anyone can create and use these characters. But if someone is using a NPC in a character like fashion, it?s probably best not to control it for them. Generally NPCs die off or leave the story in some way after a few posts, so posting them on the sign-up isn?t necessary.

Actions

Each character is limited to two "actions" per post.  An action is something your character does. Some examples:

- Attacking another character
- Defending an attack
- Preparing an attack (i.e. for bigger than normal spells)
- Starting to walk/run/fly from one place to another
- Arriving on the scene
- Picking up an item

... etc. Basically use your own judgment. Conversation with other characters doesn't count (so you can talk as much as you want).

Note that both starting to travel to one location and arriving at a location are each considered one action, but it is a bad practice to have your character leave one area and arrive in another in the same post.  See the 'travel' section below.

Charging Techniques

This section made more sense when there were character levels, but for now, if a character takes more than one post to perform an attack, honor that attack as more powerful than normal.  This is furthered generalized by the following rule.

Rule of Proportional Effects / Proportional Posts

This is more of a guideline than a steadfast rule.  Think about what your character is doing and how many people (other characters and NPCs) his/her action is going to affect (cause them to take an action, or make them do something completely different than what they currently are, etc.).  The number of posts describing your character taking that action should be proportional to the number of people that are being affected by it.

In other words, a simple fireball attack might effect 1-3 people-- just one post for that.  Some sort of shockwave might blow apart a large section of a town-- better take two or three posts, the first an elaborate description describing your character preparing the spell, the last for the character executing it.  Need to rescue your friend from 30 armed NPCs?  There's no way that can be done in one post.  Probably should go for three or more.  What your character actually does during those posts doesn't matter.  He could fight through all the guards, sneak around them, prepare some elaborate plan, etc.  Some sort of event that involves an entire city, say, should be detailed through probably ten or more.  Some event that involves the entire planet?  Probably an entire chapter.

Story events and nature of actions

As far as the story goes, anything can happen as long as it's in good taste and doesn't disrupt the flow of the RP. The only restriction is that you don't control other players' characters. i.e. If you throw a fireball at someone, you let them decide whether they get hit by it or not.

Travel

Try and be realistic in the amount of time it takes to get to one place from another. You should never leave one area and arrive in the next in the same post. Places that are farther away should take more posts to get to. I'm not going to spell out the distances between each place we've been to so far, so use your own judgment.

Be descriptive! Especially when you're entering a place of your own design. Try and build off of other posters' descriptions as well. This is important, as it?s easier to tell what?s going on if you know where you?re at.

Posting

There is a limit of two ?updates? per day.  An update is a post that contains any actions for any of your characters.  The only exception is a post that contains only dialogue,  i.e. if your character is just talking to another character.

On the other hand, try and stop in to update at least once a day!

No one-liners

No more lame one line "Character A followed Character B" posts...  I mean come on. (Heh...)  Let us know what they're thinking, what scenery they're looking at, or something.

Three day rule

If you are fighting someone and your opponent doesn?t post for three days, assume they were hit by your attack and knocked unconscious (heh?)

Limitations

No unbounded instant teleportation.  If they have the ability, characters can only teleport for short distances, and even that should be used sparingly.  No instant transmission from one place to a totally different one.  And traveling at the speed of light is the same thing... so don't!

Comments

Comments not part of the flow of the RP should be made obvious by placing them in between parentheses or slashes, etc.  Try and keep commenting to a minimum.  Major questions should be asked on this topic, rather than in the middle of the RP.

Try and refrain from quoting other posts unless absolutely necessary, since they just look bad and disrupt the flow of the RP.

*** NEW *** Story Integrity Guidelines

The following amendments are added to keep the basic story and RP world on track.  These are mainly laws and limitations placed on the DAL universe to keep things from getting too out of hand.

Dimensions

A "dimension" is defined as any place that cannot be reached on Gaian through normal means of travel (e.g. walking, flying, etc.).  Gaian itself is a dimension.

Characters cannot "control" dimensions.  Dimensions cannot be destroyed, time flow cannot be changed,  the fate of a dimension cannot be linked with character's life, etc.

DAL does not operate on the "infinite number of possible dimensions" idea.  You know, where there's a multitude of dimensions in which random key events occurred differently in their individual timelines, so each world is slightly different from the others, but have mostly the same people in them.  I just hate those kind of stories... (Heh...)  There can be multiple dimensions in DAL, but each one is unique.

The "real world" doesn't exist in DAL.  There's no "real world dimension", no dimension that (largely) resembles it, and no way to reference it.  (Past references to the real world can simply be forgotten.  I don't expect anyone to go back and change anything.)

Dimensional Travel

Each player may have his/her characters cross into another dimension only once per chapter.  There can only be one crossing, and the number of characters involved does not matter.  Once the crossing occurs, none of that player's characters can change dimensions until the next chapter, even if they didn't take part in the crossing. (Exceptions can be set up if need be.)

Reading

It is important to read every post of the RP since your last post, and perhaps a page or two before the current  point if you're just signing up.  In order to create a coherent world, we all need to know what is going on with everyone else, even if what other characters are doing on the other side of the world don?t immediately affect your own.

If you get totally lost, just ask in this topic and one of us will be happy to give you a short summary of what's going on.

Though the rules are long, they are probably not as long as the collective posts the RP receives on a good day.  <span style='color:red'>Chances are if you?ve just skimmed though the above rules and  jumped to this line you are not cut out for this RP.</span>

(Heh?)

Character signup

To start, post your characters in this thread. Continuing chapter 6 players should repost their characters as well.  Include the following information:

Name:
Gender:

Race: Can be pretty much anything
Age:
Job:
Weapon(s):
plus a description, if necessary
Alliance: Could be a kingdom, tribe, cult, etc. (or no one at all!)
Description: Physical appearance
Bio: A short background. Perhaps just his/her immediate past, but can be more in depth if you want.
Chapter 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 Bio: If your character was in any previous chapters, give a short description of what he/she did in each.  You can also describe what your character did during the interludes between chapters 3-4 and 5-6 if you want.

Here're mine:

Name: Lars Draven
Gender: Male
Race: Human (?)
Age: 30
Job: Crimson Emperor
Weapon: none
Alliance: Himself
Description:

Standing just under six feet tall, Draven has long black hair tied back at the shoulder and a piercing glance. His armor, black with red trim, is light and flexible. His gloves and boots are dark brown. His cape, dark red on the inside and black on the outside, sports a solid red four-winged dragon against a diagonal sword insignia on the back-- the insignia of his Crimson Empire.

Bio:

The overly pompous Draven lead the menacing army that destroyed Romme. He knows basic spells in other elements and some black magic, but his true passion, his obsession rather, is fire magic. He commands the fire element with devastating ease. He does not use a physical weapon, but sometimes likes to form a blade of fire to use as a sword.

In chapter 1:

"You wonder because you do not understand... You've obtained too much power and, alas, it has gone to your head... You think you can change the system. You think you can stop us. Too bad, perhaps you could have been a gerneral... But your choice... you've chosen a corpse!"

As a high general of the Dark Empire, Draven displays his absolute will to command at several points. He had several battles with the traitor Scorch, who quickly became his rival. In addition to his crimson blade attack, we see a massively destructive gargantuan fireball he conjures when angry, he trademark aura of flame that surrounds him as he gathers more energy, and the ability to levitate himself.

In chapter 2:

"... Don't you imbeciles know when to quit? And stop that, you're screwing up the ecosystem!"

Draven receives a message from his emperor and time is running out to find the sword he seeks, but he manages to keep his cool (well, not really?). He has an encounter with a general from the rival nation of Aritan and later meets a new obstacle in his quest for the sword, namely the demi-human Zeros?. After a battle, Draven obtains a fake sword from Zeros? and returns to his ships to await the arrival of the Dark Emperor, totally oblivious to the fact that the real one is still out of his reach.

In chapter 3:

"If you refuse, then we'll simply disembowel you..."

Draven feels the pressure as he competes with the two other newly arrived high generals, Jayce and Neptra to obtain the real sword. His determination is his downfall, however, as he endlessly fights against all who stand in his way, eventually completely wearing himself out. His final match is with Scorch, which ends in a sort of draw, with Draven's lifeless body sinking into the depths of the ocean...

Interlude:

Draven does not know what happened during the days, weeks perhaps, he spent drifting in the sea. He had odd visions: a fiery cave, frozen tundra, memories of his parents... He awoke on a beach near Tjed. Somehow he felt more alive than ever... or was he...? Draven has found that this near death experience has only made him stronger...

Somehow the emperor and the other generals had been defeated during the past weeks... the Dark Empire was in chaos. But Draven was the highest ranking survivor, making him the rightful heir to the throne, though he had no relation to Retan... But still, best to gather information first. Draven donned dark robes and went around calling himself 'Lars', attempting to assess the situation.

In chapter 4:

"So you may think... You shouldn't be so quick to equate darkness with evil and light with good."

Under the guise of Lars, Draven tried to disrupt the trust among those who fought against the Dark Empire a month ago. After this seemingly failed, he began to recruit warriors for his cause, forming an alliance with two Ice Warriors and the dark priest Armic.

With his new recruits, the shrouded Lars broke into a former Dark Empire facility and made off with a state of the art black magic powered airship. Soon the group caught the attention of Haraldur, to whom Draven revealed his true identity. When the others caught wind of what was happening, a massive battle in the sky ensued in which the two Ice Warriors were killed. Outnumbered, Draven escaped in his airship along with the newly transformed Armic.

In chapter 5:
"Is it just me, or do you get more freaky every time we meet? I mean 8 of them now... you're going to have trouble entering doors before long."

Draven assumes command of the Dark Empire, but immediately faces his adversaries again. A huge melee at the capital of the Dark Empire leaves the fortress and city in ruins. Haraldur eventually recovers all of the weapons and Draven calls a temporary truce with Zeros' and the others as this new threat is dealt with. An epic battle ensues as a evil entity is released from the weapons that eventually fuses with Haraldur.

Haraldur then releases the ancient evil Alpha Retan (not to be confused with Retan of the Dark Empire), which spawns another mammoth planet-threatening battle. Draven nearly destroys the world with a long conjured but extremely explosive spell in an attack against the ancient draken, but the side effects are diminished beyond the initial target with the aid of Zeros', and later his calling of the planet's guardian deity.

After Haraldur disappears when fighting his father, Melkoth, Draven parts ways with his old adversary, Zeros', proclaiming they will resume their rivalry the next time they meet...

Five year interlude:

Draven has restructured the Dark Empire, christening it the Crimson Empire and declaring himself as emperor. He has spent years rebuilding the land ravaged by war and the recent events that damaged much of the Dark Continent. Unlike Retan, he has spent little time gaining new territory, but the new nation's military force is complete and polished none-the-less...

In chapter 6:

"He has a perplexing personality. Of course, he is made up of several people, some insane, some just jerks, at least one demonic entity, and several metallic weapons... don't ask..."

Draven retaliates against the newly resurrected Haraldur and reassembles his former enemies that have allied with him five years ago.  Draven leads a large force in pursuit of the prisoners Haraldur has freed, but all of his army is destroyed through the spells that protect the newly formed nation of Aspyes while Draven and Haraldur begin yet another battle, with no clear victor.  Draven mistakes Zeros' comment about the prisoner's being "taken care of", thinking Zeros' meant the prisoners had been slaughtered, and returned home declaring the campaign a victory.  Before his return he has a brief encounter and battle with the mysterious Mavas who tried to copy Draven's form and attacks.

A second attack on the Crimson Capital by Harldur leads Draven to display the city's technological and magical advancements-- the capital city now rests on a floating island high above the mainland, unscaved by Haraldur's explosive assault.  Draven has removed those in power that have been under Harldur's influence, as well as those that might as well be, declaring his military, to be the sole authority in the state.  In the meantime, Haraldur had captured the port town of Laus on the southern peninsula of the Dark Continent.

In chapter 7:

"You need more credibility than just being old and calling yourself 'a prophet'."

Draven sends General Valos to deal with Laus as he attends to other matters in the floating Crimson Capital, including forming an alliance with the dragon Hyperion and Salazar of Alterña.  He would leave the palace later to peruse the aura of Melkoth, who he confused for Haraldur's, only to be attacked by Hyperion after the dragon was forced to do the bidding of the prophet Quintus (after Draven made an enemy of the prophet by insulting him).  Draven convinces the dragon he has the cure for his poison and Hyperion rejoins.  Draven meets up with the usual group of allies and faces Melkoth, who lies to Draven that he is a follower of Haladur.  After Melkoth's escape, Draven coordinates his rapidly arriving troops to attack and reclaim the captured cities of Alphagrad and Retangrad in the western Crimson Empire.

Name: Ven Hyul, The Silver Knight
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 27
Job: Knight or some warrior of a kingdom he hasn't named yet
Weapon: A sliver long sword strapped across the back
Alliance: ???
Description:

Ven's body armor is a dazzling reflective silver, but much of this beautiful armor is hidden beneath a plain black cloak.  His long dark brown hair falls behind his shoulders in locks, complementing his short beard.  His eyes are dark and serious, always aware, always searching...

Bio:

This quiet, brooding man travels from town to town, endlessly searching for a mythical blue gem, the Kelvos, which he hopes to use to uncurse his now insane brother, Mavas.

In chapter 6:

"So, what'd ya think? Painfully obvious trap, huh?"

Ven chases his nemesis (and brother?!) Mavas through River Town, trying to avoid the help of our heroes, but accepts it gratefully at several points.  He eventually teams of with Zion and Xenai in his pursuit and chases the shadowy man through a portal to some strange dimension.  A brief encounter with some type of dragon and one explosion later, the trio find themselves in Haraldur's town of Aspyes, sealed away by a spell as Draven's assault is immanent.  They are freed from the strange dimension by Zeros' and Ven breaks away from the group, tracking Mavas to the Crimson Empire before losing him.  Ven finds a small nameless village in the mountains near the eastern shore of the Empire and learns of several quirks of their society before finally resting at an inn.

In chapter 7:

"Ohh, headache now..."

Ven ventured off into the wilderness alone, eventually coming under attack by Mavas' servant, the short gray-robed necromancer Degzgronzo. With the aid of Zion and Tsu, he defeated the necromancer once and for all, but his search for Mavas fell short.  He decided to help Zion and the others and joined up with Draven and his allies in the assult on Melkoth and his army.  Ven fought valiantly against the terribly powerful demon Abodahon along with Zeros' and several other warriors, and eventually caused the beast to retreat.

Name: General Vincent Elridge
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 31
Job: General of the Crimson Empire, Alchemist
Weapon: Auto Shotgun, (more...?)
Alliance: Crimson Empire
Description:

About average height, Vincent does wear any armor, but rather something resembling more of a black trench coat with a few military adornments on his chest.  His long black hair is tied in a ponytail behind his back and his calm, almost brooding eyes shine behind his small square rimmed glasses.  He has just a hint of a beard and a square chin.

Bio:

Vincent Elridge was an alchemist and inventor since his youth, growing up in the central regions of the Dark Continent.  Finding his talents applicable to the military, he was offered an officer position (read drafted) and eventually became a colonel in the Dark Empire, a position he held for several years.  However, his talents often went unappreciated, as more destructive magic based officers were preferred, causing him to slowly become resentful... He was finally promoted to a general upon Draven's reformation of the Dark Empire, but it only seems he was promoted due to a lack of generals at the time.

He secretly dreams of nothing more than becoming a High General, and leading large scale military campaigns... or maybe becoming something more... however, he is repeatedly stuck with less important supervisor or management positions, and is rarely given the chance to prove himself.

In chapter 7:

"It seems this Ragnar is tricky one. A very dangerous foe..."

Vincent defended the fortress Redvik against Haraldur's attack, which included an erupting volcano that separated Laus from the mainland, buried the city surrounding Redvik, and nearly decimated the fortress itself.  Vincent took an interest in Haraldur's power and insisted on viewing him up close, but Haraldur escaped into another dimension, leaving the only contact between the two a very brief exchange of words.

Vincent correctly assumed Melkoth's attack was independent of Haraldur's and, his number calling him to the new front line, raced to the area where Melkoth's Grey Empire was attempting to dig its way into the Crimson Empire's in his alchemically improved airship.  Having been shot down by their new fortress, Vincent snuck his way into the quickly assembled new Grey fortress, where he has a face to face encounter with the great prophet Quintus, who proves himself a deadly foe as well...

Name: Rink
Gender: Male
Race: Imp
Age: Unknown even to himself
Job: None
Weapon: Fireball
Alliance: Romme Avengers
Description: A small red imp, with strange light red markings all over his body. He has a chubby looking face, but a muscular body. He has small wings, and can fly with them, yet not as fast as others can. He uses magic to fly faster.
Bio: When Armic opened the gate and the demon warriors charged out. Rink decided to check and see what was going on. So he flue out and examined around. Oddly he was able to stay in the world, because of his lack of need in Hell.

Chapter 5: So far he was learned that the 6 weapons are lost in this world, and two teams are waging war over them. He joined Duilin and help him find them and stop the crisis. He has been Duilin's partner ever since.

Chapter 6: Zeros' visits Duilin and Rink and tells them that he senses a strong power, that they must seek. They then join up with him to seek it out, but the Prophet arrives and warns them of a group called the Aspyes. Once they locate were the power was coming from, and meet a few new people, they find out that Haraldur was returned. They then have to ally with Draven again, and they also meet a General of the Crimson Empire, named Valos, who was an apprentice of Nex. Valos, wanted Duilin to let his demonic side, and do what his father intended him for and take the throne as the king of hell. Rink of course knows the dangers of this, since he knew Duilin's father, and how Nex convinced him to do the same. Rink became a bit unsure if Valos was telling the truth of his plan, so he watched him and listened to his conversations with Duilin.

Chapter 7: He was assigned by the Crimson Empire to go spy on Haraldur at Laus. He gains information about the technology and the how the area was defended. Afterwards, he joined back up with Duilin and Zeros' and slightly helped fight Haraldur. As they chased Haraldur back to Laus, only to have the city disappear, they sensed several powerful auras. They then flue off to the location, however Marshal and his friend Ein were on there tail. Rink was able to distract them so Duilin and Zeros' could continue. After an amusing battle, Valos and Rink begin to row, and Duilin takes the side of Valos causing Rink to storm off in rage.

Name: Duilin Talonscar
Gender: Male
Race: Half Demon
Age: 36
Job: Traveler
Weapon: Mace
Alliance: Romme Avengers
Description: Duilin wears a thick black shirt, with the symbol of Romme on the back, and black pants, an iron shoulder pad. He has a holster for his mace, strapped around his leg. He is of an average height, and build. Him being part demon, he has large dragon like wings, yet the skin is slightly lighter since he has only had them for 5 years.
Bio: He was raised in a small-unnamed village. Eventually the Dark Empire raided it. He was to be left alive if he was to join the Empire.

Chapter 1: He was a Lieutenant in the Dark Empire. He was forced to join against his will, but he never had the courage to turn against them until his Commander Darion framed him of betrayal. He joined Romme and helped out an old Solider Iduran, and told him about the Dark Empire and Draven. He also met Scorch, an ex-dark empire commando, who he was never quite fond of, and a shape shifting Gepardi, named Cheetah.

Chapter 2: When he went with Iduran and Cheetah to a Romme outpost. That's when he was initiated as a Romme solider; he changed his armour, and weapons. However he still had bits of his old Dark Empire armour on him. He joined up with Seth and he went to go take Iduran's sword to the Dragons Den, but he later gave it Zeros', who later defeated Nex.

Chapter 3: Duilin grew very tired and upset and spent most time inside the cave outpost; until wile standing on guard his old rivals, Pophin and Veronika, kidnapped him. Eventually he bull shited himself to join the Dark Empire, but just used it to escape. Later he learned that Iduran was captured and taken to Retan's Vessel, he went there with Cheetah and Seth, but was stopped by one of Retan's elite guard Genma. Veronika was also there. He fought her until he KOed her. He later discovered that Retan killed Iduran, and he was stuck with grief. Then a spell that Retan caused the ship became invisible. Later Nex was revived but was weakened by Zeros' again, but he had new powers, he revived Darion. Nevina defeated Nex but he revived again in the body of Pophin gaining new powers but loosing fire immunity. Nex told Duilin he was demon, and proved it. He was able to defeat Nex by counter attacking a huge Fire Ball of Death.

Chapter 4: A strange person, who claimed to be the apprentice of Zeros?, confronted Duilin. He was asked to join him, in search of the weapons. He then met some old friends, Cheetah, Haraldur and Zeros', as well as making a new friend Kami-Ryu. He went with them, to Haraldurs home place as obtained the staff. That is was he found a strange tablet, with the location of the next weapon, which was in his hometown. After going there, he obtained the mace. He met some former Dark Empire grunts, there to; he then got a change of close. After heading back to his hometown, he was confronted by Draven, Armic, and the Ice Bros' piloting a ship. After a large battle and the rescue of Nevina, he went back home, but was ambushed by a spy. But he was made short work of.

Chapter 5: A small imp confronted Duilin by the name of Rink who claimed that he was the one who killed his former master, and following a code; he was to be his partner. Later, him and the rest of the team ventured off to get the final weapons from the Dark Empire castle. After a large battle fighting off an army, lead by the brother of his old rival Darion, named Maxwell, and two towering golems, Armic opened up the gates of hell. Eventually a Necrodragon emerge, yet he was able to defeat it after merging his demon flame and his new demon energy. Him and the others went back to Laus, and Haraldur opened up a gate using the weapons right in his house. After a small adventure in there, a small child confronted Duilin and Kami-Ryu. Draven [who had joined them] and Zeros' were chasing Haraldur who apparently went berserk. After they returned the child grew and multiplied, he was known as the entity. Maxwell was killed and Duilin was able to defeat one of the clones, by powering up his blood rage [and that made him more demon]. After Haraldur and the Entity merged. They went off to find the Dragon, which Duilin told Haraldur about. His old friend Iduran told Duilin of the dragon. Haraldur dived down into the water to see the Dragon, and Duilin and Zeros' followed. After a chat with the Dragon, the entire team went to an icy wasteland to defeat Alpha Retan. He was a huge Black Dragon. Duilin aided Haraldur, Zeros' and Zion in the defeat of him.
Eventually Haraldur went off to fight his father Melkoth, and the entire world was falling apart, Zeros' summoned the goddess of earth and everyone donated energy to repair the world, Duilin drained almost his entire blood rage, and it helped a lot. They went to defeat Haraldur, however he killed himself. Duilin was very angry with Draven, however he left.

Chapter 6: Duilin's nightmares became worse, more real and made more sense. After a small problem with his landlord, Zeros' visits Duilin and Rink and tells them that he sences a strong power that they must seek. They then join up with him to seek it out, but the Prophet arives and warns them of a group called the Aspyes. Once they locate were the power was coming from, and meet a few new people, they find out that Haraldur was returned. They follow him to the Crimson Palace, and find out he has followers that were locked up there. Eventually they get spotted and a battle begins. Duilin, finds himself face to face, with a man who knew almost everything about him, yet he has never seen him ever. His name was Valos, he was a General of the Crimson Empire, former apprentice to Nex. After a battle, causing Duilin's demonic side to grow, Zeros' and Draven have made an alliance, and send a mental message to them, telling them to stop fighting. They then plan to attack Haraldur and his army of the Aspyes. Valos, being loyal to the Empire, still wishes to proceed with his mission, yet, he wants to convince Duilin, to do what his father wishes, and let his demonic side take control and gain the throne of the king of hell. Duilin, wishes no part in it, yet the more demonic he gets, the stronger, would it be for the best? After a failed battle on the Aspyes, they head home. Draven believes it to be a victory so the have a banquette. Haraldur arrives and interferes; yet they were able to cause him to flee. Duilin, meets a female servant, and gains quite a friendship with her.

Chapter 7: Duilin has yet another nightmare, he doesn't give much detail to Belle, the female servent, whom he had spend the night with. After a short walk and a talk with Darak about Valos' strange actings, he then flies to Laus along with Zeros'. They talk about the visions he has been having, and enventually bump into Marshal, who tells them that Haraldur has gone to Rivertown. Zeros' senses that Marshal is lying and the man then fleas. As they arrive at Laus, Haraldur and a hooded man approached them. The hooded man was named Ein, he seemed to have newly gained the knowledge of magic, so Duilin was able to defeat him, yet let him live, but the demon Ein summoned was not so luckily. Duilin then helped Zeros' fight Haraldur and even got a hit in. As they chase Haraldur to the Crimson Empire base camp, and back to Laus. Valos is chasseing the city that seems to be floating away. Duilin the aids Valos in a powerful attack, that however fails to do anything. Duilin then senses a strong aura, and then him, Rink and Zeros' goes after it. It seems that Melkoth (Haraldur's father) has formed a Grey Empire and is attacking two towns. Duilin then goes down to fight of the army yet is greatly out numbered, yet with the help of Tsu, he was able to survive. After Zeros' and a few others defeat a terribly powerful demon lord. Valos and Rink have a strong dissagrement, and Duilin takes Valos' side. He seems to regret getting his friend mad.

Bio

Zeros' is the only known heir to an un-named school that was created by one of the greatest martial artists ? Master Genma.

A training incident, more then five years ago, left his master dead, and Zeros' set out on a quest to find the last of the weapons.

He had failed in his job, by letting Haraldur reach the weapons, and not realizing Haraldur's true intentions.

Chapter 1

A mysterious warrior who appeared when the Dark Empire started its invasion on Romme. He disappeared, and reappeared in chapter 2.

Chapter 2

Reappears when Haraldur destroys a village. He started a long fight agianst the two Dark Empire generals, Nex and Draven. He slain his own kind, later Nex was buried by Duilin.

Chapter 3

He returns to the struggling island of Romme to seek out his enemy he made in Chapter 2, Draven. He finds Draven, only to find him accompined by the mysterious man Jayce. A long battle brings his old master Genma into the mix as he confronts Draven. Genma fights off Draven to a standstill and proceeds to kidnap the hero Iduran to bring him to the emperor for questioning.

Zeros' proceeds to fight Nex once again, only to find him zombified. Nex is faught to a stand-still and effectively disappears. Zeros' then wants to seek out Draven to finish there battle, only to find the Zero Weapon. He proceeds to fight the Zero Weapon to another standstill, it becoming incapacitated for a time. He sends the revealed forms of Qeni and Zev back to heaven.

Zeros' finds Jayce near the area where the three Arstian warriors once werem smirking his smirk. Zeros' proceeds into another fight with the heir to the Dark Empries heir to the throne Jayce. Jayce's first attack fell Zeros' sister Qeni, releasing his swords true power. Jayce reveals his true form of a shadow draken to his opponent. With the help of Tsu, Zeros' fights with Jayce until the emperor shows.

The fight with the emperor was long and tedious. Neptra dies in the confrontation with Genma and Retan proceeds to destroy the island, only a few heros living.

Chapter 4

Zeros' appears a few hundred miles near Laus and into a mysterious cave where presumably one of the weapons of legends are. He explores the cave, finding the weapon and returns to Laus, only to run into a yeti and the Ice Bros.

After a brief skirmish, Zeros', along with Haraldur, Duilin, Cheetah and Kami-ryu all head to the sunken island on Artian, hoping to find the next weapon, wherever it may be.

After plunging into the waterl and finding the Destiny Temple (Just a name) where it depitcs the last battle form Romme as well as the Dark Empire and Romme emperor, they find the legendary staff, but not without the hardships of fighting off one of the Balrogs from hell. Zeros' and his teams soon find a plaque telling the direction of the legendary weapons.

Now, after the Destiny Temple, Zeros' and his team head towards the remains of Duilin's village in hopes of finding another one of the weapons, but they meet with the remains of the Dark Empire. After another brief encounter, two of the remaining soldiers lead the party down into a hanger where Duilin receives the legendary mace after a tussle with the undead.

Now, having four of the weapons in possession, the team heads back towards Laus, where they all head in different directions. Zeros' goes towards the direction the Zero Weapon is coming in, menace that was once thought long destroyed.

After a battle with that, and the help from Tsu, Xenai and Zion, they manage to seal it away, removing the evil taint and allowing Xenai to reprogram it. They all fly towards the position of the air ship, where no other then his old nemesis, Draven, has revealed himself.

Armic, a priesy for Qor, manages to fuse with the ancient god that Genma and himself sealed long ago, returns for vengence and ends up summoning demons from the underworld. Zeros' and the others fight these off, but not without knocking Nevina unconcious from the dark tain and Kami-Ryu for injures.

Draven and his party leave as Zeros' carries Ryu back to Laus, where they meet with Duilin and proceeded to fight a quick battle with Scumfreeze after Haraldur find them.

Now exhausted, he puts Ryu on a bed to rest and rest himself.

Chapter 5

As Zeros' awakes, Rink shows himself, an outcast of Qor. Zeros' briefly explains his existance as he, Duilin, Rink and Haraldur. As they fly towards the Crimson Empires capital, Zion and his group meet with Zeros' and join forces.

(skip a couple pages)

...as Zeros' and his group concentrate their power, the planet began to fluxiuate wildly. As soon as they were out, seals were formed an the Goddessof the Planet was summon, healing the wounds, returning Gaia (or Gaian) to its former glory.

Gaia, grateful for hering the planet's plea, banishes the island and the whole group near Haraldur and Draven's location, recharging their reserves in the process.

After Haraldur's fusion was done, Haraldur disappeared, never to be seen again. Zeros' followed him into Limbo, but soon made it back to Midgard. As Draven left, Zeros' promise him a last battle and soon laid his head down to sleep, his anticipation running high.

Chapter 6

Five years had gone between Chapter 5 and now, the Crimson Empire had been established by the former High General of the Dark Empire, and Zeros' nemesis, Draven. Zeros' disappeared that day, when the planent Gaian was restored, for five years.

Zeros' reappears, just as Duilin is getting yelled at by his land lord. Zeros' came back to Gaian, because of the distant, dark powers he felt. He joins with Duilin and Rink once again, as the Great Prophet approaches the River Town. He, Duilin, Rink and the Prophet go towards the origin of the dark power they feel, coincidently heading towards Ven and the other warrior.

They meet up with Tesla, an agent for Haraldur, though, they do not know that, and they join together and head towards the dark power. But, when Tesla asked of Haraldur, the two, once defenders of Romme became weary of him. He felt the rage build up and looked back, to make sure everyone was still with him. He flew faster towards the energy, unsure of exactly HOW strong it was.

He stops by the point with the most power fluctuation, and notices Zion fighting, along with Aminaga's pure rage, and the similiarities between Mavas and Ven's aura's. Where this would lead him, he had no idea...

(Skip a few pages...)

After many harsh hours of negotiations, arguing, fighting and rebellion, Zeros' is finally allowed to have some form of rest, and disappears to somewhere...

Chapter 7

Assigned by an Alliance he doesn't want, Zeros' flies from the Crimson Empire capital, and towards Laus, where, Haraldur was stationed. There, they meet Marshal, a once friend, who was kicked out of his organization. After Zeros' senses his lies, the man flees.

With the help of Duilin, and slight help from Rink, he distracts Haraldur, and the newly joined Eon for a small period of time. This time gives Valos the time he needs to gather forces, and plan.

They pursue Haraldur, as he flies away. Laus also seems to flee, in the form of a floating island. Duilin breaks off from him, and goes to help Valos. Zeros' also tries to damage the city in many forms of attacks (At the point of one of his attacks, a tornado, a valcano erupts, and causes deadly steam to form in the air. Because the tornado was deflected by the barrier, it roars, and absorbs the steam from the air, causing it to grow huge, but, this also causes the tornado to float away, and take the steam with it), his last attack, not even going off, before the island shifts into another dimension.

It was at that time he sensed Melkoth. He flies there, avoiding and blasted away the invisible rock barriers formed by Haraldur. When they arrive there, though, he sees Draven already engaged with Melkoth in combat. Knowing Draven's extreme pride, he instead helps the others fight off the giant demon, causing him to flee after a small while of fighting.

After the battle, he listens to Rink and Valos argument, and follows Rink, and reassures him about Duilin. After that, he settles down, and closes his eyes as night falls.

Name: Allen
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 63
Job: Alchemist
Weapon: A small, curved dagger, and his alchemy
Alliance: Crimson Empire

Description

He's a man of average height, standing near 67 inches (5 feet, 7 inches). He wears a pair of half-moon glasses, with blue eyes hidden behind them, shining with intelligence, evident to his long age. His face is free of any scars, but, he face seems to be starting to develop some wrinkles. He has a beard covering his lower chin, and his upper lip (moustache/beard combo). His hair reaches down to his shoulders, tied back into a messy ponytail. All his hair is whitened with age.

While being old, he was still lean, and fit. He wears a long white trench-coat (Think what a doctor wears. Similar to that.), with a white shirt underneath, and a loose pair of black pants hanging around his waist. His most common posture is to have his hands stuffed into his pockets, and standing around idly, almost looking bored.

Allen wasn't near as powerful as any others, but, his alchemy was almost unmatched. He could make anything, even out of the smallest grain of sand.

Bio

He grew up in a small village, with his mother, father and his older brother, who, was training in alchemy, planing on pledging his services to the Dark Empire. Allen had always looked up to his brother in admiration, so, it was no surprise he also trained to be an alchemist at 12, when his mother and father let him.

When he was 20, he joined the Dark Empire's ranks, and continued his alchemic training. He never actually went into battle, but, he had always provided the Dark Empire with valuable information about materials and elements he discovered. He soon became renowned as a man of great knowledge, causing people to seek him out for information, and bring him research projects they couldn't figure out.

He was always training, and learning, so it was no surprise he left the Dark Empire, promising to return, to continue his alchemic training. There was only so much he could learn, without going out into the feild. He was 24.

When he returned, 34 years later, he found the Dark Empire going to war with Romme. He had also found out his mother, and father had passed away. He was saddened to hear the news, but, he continued the work he had left all those years back, while his brother went into war.

When the war escalated, Retan called on his services to weapons he had in his possession. While Retan knew they were powerful, he didn't know what they did. Sadly, Allen never finished his research, before Retan was destroyed, and then Haraldur merged with the weapons. His brother was killed in the gaint explosion.

He came back, 5 years later, and heard the former General of the Dark Empire, Draven, has reformed into the Crimson Empire. He joined with them once again, and continued his previous work.

But, with Haraldur on the loose, the Crimson Empire needed all the firepower they could get, causing Allen to be put on the front line. He's now stationed at the same camp Valos was at, and had seen the destruction Haraldur wraught.

Chapter 7

Allen stepped out of a tent in Valos' camp, and immedaitely engages in battle with the formed Blue Minatour summoner, Marshal. After successfully defeating the man with his alchemy, and also saving Aura, Allen swipes a vial in the air, capturing a part of Haraldur's aura.

He forms a flying disc, and with Aura on it, they speed towards the now floating Crimson Empire, reaching up there by form of a beam teleport. After being informed of neither Valos or Vincents presense, he leads Aura down to his lab.

It was there Valos appeared, and Allen told them of his plan. Thought both were greatly confused at the mechnics, they both vowed to help. As he starts the process of forming a new 'weapon', it's violently interrupted by Haraldur, as it seems he's still connected to even the smallest part of his essence. Luckily, even though the lab was destroyed, Valos managed to shield the three from the eruption of power that destroyed the lab.

Valos and Aura both leave - Aura with one of Allen's flying discs - as Allen scouts the remains of his lab, scavging what he can. It was also at this time Haraldur attacked the capital directly, and brought down the power shields. Allen sets out, and fixes all four, only being able to recharge the major orb, with the help of the blue Elite. He promises himself to fix the major orb fully later.

He went back to the remains of his old lab, and slid down, closing his eyes, promising himself he would just rest...

Woot, I think i'll have another character.

Name: Steorra
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Age: 26
Job: A powerful mage
Weapon: A tall staff, that looks like an ordinary branch with the exception of a bright shining gem in the middle.
Alliance: None as of yet.
Description: Long blonde hair tied into dreadlocks, black pants and black shirt. Has a tatoo of a rising sun on her shoulder.
Bio: Steorra, unlike most powerful mages, started out small. She only posessed rudimentary magic abilities, which were limited to not immediately blowing herself up when attempting to cast a spell. After a few years of hard training, she became aquitted with basic spells. She then worked as a mercenary for a short while but quit soon as there were too many mercenaries out there already (heh...). In her brief career she however further advanced in her skill, and got some pocket money to start looking for her next goal. Now a powerful mage concentrating mainly on heat and light (NOT fire!), she roams the Crimson Continent in search of a more steady life.

Well, it ends here, folks. No more Mr Nice Ein. Now that I have Steorra, she won't EVER be hit, she will charge spells that destroy entire planets in 1-2 posts, and if she is killed somehow, the universe will implode on itself. Hmph.

Exams, delay people? If anything, Exams give me MORE time. Why? Less school. All you do is go in for an exam and it only takes you around an hour and a half.
