Sorry for a few days of inactivity. I've been having trouble making buttons buttons on this forum work as of late, so I'm using the few minutes I have on this other computer to at least inform you guys.

Again, sorry!

Aw too bad. But that was quite an interesting final post.

You know what. I think I'll have Roland do some stuff. Just for the Kandarin's sake. I've got an idea.

Opera. I updated the version today, and it started working again. Whee!

Hey, should I resume from where we left off, or assume that we just departed for Tjed (to make up for lost time and to keep the pace with the other posts)?

Opera?  Who uses Opera?  (Heh...)

You can do whichever you think is best.

You know, no matter how hard I try, I simply can't let go of DAL.

Before I can return to it full-time, there can be no mention of full-time posting, so I think I will come back once a week at the weekend (which is the only time I made myself promise to myself that I will get on the computer) and use an NPC character to do some random, non-story-heavy stuff. Is everyone OK with that?

I'm going to try that today and tomorrow.

We now have a timeline!

There's a lot more to add, so feel free to add stuff.  Only add *major* events, though.  We don't want this to get too cluttered.

I've decided to use a system similar to our own A.D./B.C. with months the same as ours, to minimize confusion.  The current date in the RP is December 2nd, 563 G.E.  Most of my date choices have been arbitrary, the only meaningful one being March 21st, 557 G. E. as the start of Chapter 1, since the RP itself started on March 21st, 2004.  All the events have been scaled from this starting date, since we've been doing a pretty good job of keeping track of how long it's been since certain things happened.

G.E. stands for "Gaian Era".  There have been other eras as well.  This is the most popular dating system currently used on Gaian, though others exist.  (See Kronos' logs.)  Events occurring before year 1 G.E. are simply labeled in reverse as B.G.E. (Before Gaian Era).  E.g. The year 100 B.G.E. is 663 years before the current RP date.  As with our system, there is no year "0".

There have been mentions of events happening millions of years ago in the RP world.  This is a stretch and I'm not sure these are reasonable.  I may bump them up to only a few thousand years ago.  We'll see.  For now, ignore them.

<Takes a look at the topic>

Ack, completely lost. And I've only made one post about doing nothing! I'm such a horrible person!

(Could I get a quick summary or something so you can make me stop crying? ;-;)

Okay, so here is what is going on right now. Over on the island of Tjed (the good guys) we have an army of lizard men with the Dark Empire (the bad guys) and they're fightin' it up. Meanwile we have random things going about, like Nick (Burton) is fighting random people and Alex (Dark Spartan) is fighting a war in Asgarnia.

If you want to get into some action perhaps you could have your character be at Tjed, Asgarnia or maybe Lawessov.

You can check those places and people at DALPedia if you have no idea what they heck I'm talking about.

Darkagegames.net now features the latest DAL post on the front page!

Thought I'd try this out and see how it goes, though I may move the box around a bit.  DAL is nearing its third anniversary, and frankly I've probably spent as much time writing these posts as I did working on either of my games.  (Heh...) Time for some recognition!

Awesome! Hey that reminds me. I may have suggested this before but maybe Darkagegames.net or the DALPedia could have a quote of the month/week/day? Like there are some lines that just need to be shown off...

Quote from: "Draven"
"You need more credibility than just being old and calling yourself 'a prophet'."

"Your jest is very amusing, but clearly you wouldn't want to take this little joke of yours too far, for it would be very damaging for me to mistake your jest for truth and, say, disembowel your innards and mount your head among the other... examples..."

Quote from: "Abodahon"
"I really don't see why you continue to trust people; you obviously don't have the correct people skills. Oh, it just upsets me to think how heart breaking your love life must be."

"I understand completely what you are: a mental case, but soon you will be a corpse!"
