I wanted the capital to be on Ariosis. I can have a couple of intro posts saying that the only thing the people of the Ario Empire have been doing for the past three years is working on the capital. Seeing as how there's a good hundred thousand people scattered about Ariosis and Dranniville, I can see them getting a large city done in three years.

Also, to DM, I was thinking something more along the lines of Consulors. I suppose a High General would be equal to a High Consulor, or maybe the old rulers of the kingdoms and sovereignties would start out as High Consulors. Among these would be Ven, Duilin, Aaron, and Valimore. Seymore would be one as well, but I haven't introduced Vos and Tel Vos as well as I hoped to before the chapter ended. Also, anyone else that I missed. Your idea works too, though; just throwing this one out there.

Well, wherever the capital is, it should be that no certain part of the alliance should have any more power than the others (ie: There should be the same amount of councillors from each part of the alliance who all have equal power). The High General will just lead the armies.

Yes, separate counselors and generals would be good.  We don't always have to have warrior leaders.  I was thinking Ven becomes a counselor rather than a general, because although he is a warrior, he is figurehead for his people and compared to most other characters he's rather weak.  (Heh...)

As for where the capital is, I have no preference.  One possible solution is the counselors rotate where they meet, taking turns in each nation's capital city.  This would allude to the whole equality thing and all that rot.

...but remember, people will have to build their major establishments underground, due to a certain death ray floating about...

Damn, you have an answer for everything, don't you Xorlak? I like the whole "rotate capitals" idea, but it would be nice if we had some sort of fixed position or location. Somewhere in the middle of everything, like some sort of man-made colony in the midst of the ocean between a couple of the landmasses with the republic. That sounds like a neato idea.

Meh, I'm done for now. Just gonna enjoy the rest of the lovely, relaxingly long break. *Plops donw in bed and flips on the tube*

Well, yeah but maybe they might find it to be a better idea not to have a small island and choose to rotate the capitals not just for the whole equality thing, but for protection against that "certain death ray floating about".

Also, maybe it would be best for the official name to be called the Gaian Alliance, as it's mostly separate nations that are allied. But the Gaian Republic sounds nice too. I guess we'll go with whatever Xorlak happens to feels like typing when he starts the next chapter Razz.

Well, if it's a bunch of strongly allied nations who share intel and resources for a common cause... Would that be a Federation rather than a republic?

Like, Gaian Federation?

Hmm... I like the sound of 'Federation,' but how would that work... Which sounds better, the Gaian Republic, or the Gaian Federation?

...

Imma go with Republic on this one. On another note, which capital will we start at in the beginning of the next chapter, and which way will we rotate? Clockwise? Counterclockwise? Massive zig-zagness?

Couple of things to think about before we start the chapter. But enough with the little details, there's just one more thing that I have to let out before I'm outy. In what part of the city will the meetings be? We probably shoudn't have them meet in the caste, because that would be too obvious for 'said death ray' to just blast the hell out of. I'm thinking there should be some sort of underground system in the capital cities where the members of the council and the military can meet.

But we'll just procrastinate 'til we really need to get things started, right? That always works for me!

I vote for Federation, and so does DM (who is, at the moment, right next to me).

I've been planning this for a while now, but I want a good guy character. He will be in the Gaian [insert ideology here].

START DAL.

Yeah, I actually do like the sound of Federation. It's not actually a republic the way we have it planed and Alliance sounds too rouge.

DAL should start Saturday, January 5th. That just seems like a good enough time to me!

Any objections? I know it's not up to me, but it does seem like a good time! Wadda ya say, Xorlak?

I say the sign ups should start first day on the New Year and the chapter starts on the 5th. I'm sure everyone would have signed up by then. Razz
