Nah! You'll never get me!

Due to a teory which I formed as a basic fundament of my game, there is a bond between spiritual and material world. The worlds are melted each with another, when one is more connected to the other the other is further from the second one, for example the more spiritual things in physical world there are, the less of physics appear on spiritual world.

As the worlds are one, creating a 2-sided universe, it is possible to use spiritual bond in any place of the material world.

The material world requires the spiritual world to exist, as the wonder of Creation is in itself a spiritual process of making material world work. Because of that, the strength of material world depends on spiritual world. None of them can exists without another.

Let's say the balance between spirituality/materiality in world is 1:256. So the material world is a very strong one, where only sometimes strange things happen. Strange things? Right. But let's make it 256:1 instead, the other side of the 2-sided universe. Here, the strange things are material things - let's say you hurl Earth into the blazes of Sun in anger, what's strange about it? The fact that Earth and Sun are built from substancious things and cannot be transformed by the force of thought, quintessence, will, life or divinity - call it as you like it!

So... basicaly... with the spiritual/material link... we are connected to the world!

Is this the real world or the one in the game that you are talking about?

I am confused! And so is Mr. Flibble! Heeheehee!

It doesn't matter! In the end all shall fall before the System! Mwahahaha!

(that was, too, from my game, such words come spoken by the leader of the Gnosis... the true enemy is the one you can't destroy)

Hmm... 2027?

Actually, I have almost everything preppared for the game... I have quest list, magic list, battle system, menu system and magic system plan, even some dialogues, map, location names, existing world fractions and factions... except the game itself!

I've only done 1 location - the starting town, 1 mobile player model (several static npcs only shown from front), some dialogues and basics of BS... This ain't much, isn't it? Aaaah, and some item "cameos" (in short, icons or 32x32 gif pics).

Which one? Well ... has a full story, with an opener for a possible sequel, but which does not demand a sequel. It has 2 completed boards and 1 incomplete. Many tiles. Oh and a battle system design. And an animation for traffic lights.

I see you work hard Smile Hmmm, traffic lights... Good thing. Most games lack one thing, CONSEQUENCE. For example, when all those characters buy clothes? Are they born in them? Since there are no cloth shops at all... etc...

Well, at first Haraldur is wearing a camouflaged radiation suit, because he put that on in the bunker, then he takes it off in an animation and wears normal camouflaged clothes, because he was issued them before you see him in the game, the opening animation for a new game shows him wearing army clothing because he has joined the army. Oh, and sometimes he steals clothing from people he has killed, if he needs it.

Sounds good...

In my game, there propably won't be this far going cloth thing (that you can wear enemy clothes), but I plan to make a specific look for character in some clothes (like plate mail etc), what can be hard, as now I plan adding... 14 character classes. Maybe I'll change that... dunno.

The thing I try to add in the game... Perhaps to counter the general overwhelming feeling of the coming of System... is personification of almost every single villager. You see, regular game looks like this, villager says 1-2 quotes. Only few characters, like bosses or specific NPCs have their history, their character...

In my game, dialogues will take almost as big part as fighting... Almost every character will have something personal, like a wagon taxi-man which talks to his horse and curses railroads because trains offer threat to his work place, a priest which has amnesia, an always drunken drunk, a duke which is fanaticaly supporting his king, an opium-addicted artistocrate etc...

Cool! I will do that too, thanks! However I will not use the same examples, as that would be plagiarism.

Hehehe... I don't believe in plagerims Smile Along with renaissance motto of free artistry, I think that using someone else ideas is nothing wrong, as long as you include the notice whose these were, hehehe  Very Happy

No, really. If my game ever comes out, you can use tiles, concept, everything, just put my name somewhere Smile

(uh... it's kind of hard to create a good dialogue system in tk not using branches but whiles...) The best thing would be something like this

1. "Wanna dance?"
 Yes - go to 2
 No - go to 3

2. "Fine."

3. "Scram!"

Etc... But whiles are more complicated, they can only have contests inside them, not outside (as I see) so you can direct answer into something out of questions (sounds stupid? it looks stupid, too). I'll have to think over it...

I like to create something unique, or at least something that I have not seen bvefore as nothing is unique.

Besides, is the fun not doing everything, or almost everything yourself?

Hell yes! You see, it is basing. Basing is what differs Lord of the Rings from Harry Potter.

Lord of the Ring is based. It's based on norse mythologies. Elven and dwarven runes and alphabet are based on real alhabets. It's inspired by many cultures and so it is somehow wise in itself... You see author spent time to search through lore of ages to write it.

Harry Potter is not based. The authress (I know there is no such word, but it sounds funny anyway) works like this: "Let's take 2 words, dog and cat, and make a new word - doat. Oh mein Gott let's make a creature called Doat, will will have 7 heads and 9 horns and a great diadem on it's forehead." This is it. That's why I hate Harry Potter. It is a monument of the authress herself - it is truly her creation, only her. Her state of mind on the paper. Same thing Lewis Caroll done, but he was great at it, mixed perfection of mathematics with freedom of literacy, but was a pedophiliac anyway...

Same thing in FF4, for example... Ever read Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy? All the fiend names are taken from it. Rubicante, Cagnazzio, etc... Other names are also took from some films, books etc... Not to mention summoned creatures/espers/GFs...

This is what makes things cool - basing. You play game and realise 90% of the game is took from outside word. It's funny to find those things yourself. Another example here, StarCraft. Most non-campaign hero names are from books or movies. Tom Kazansky from Top Gun. Guy Montag from Fahrenheit 451. Alan Schezar from some manga...

Aaah, pardon me, I forgot the bad sides!

On eeggs come, in StarCraft there is an overlord unit called Yggdrasil. People debate what is Yggdrasil from. And yes, of course, some kiddo comes and claims it's from the manga "o my goodness" where God had a computer Yggdrasil. Sure, yes, I'm absolutely sure, he believes norse religion took the conception of the universe from XX century anime. Funny where, those vikings...

Unmainly one, cease, or the mighty hammer
Mjollnir shall (I don't remember but something like "leave you mouth shut.")
- Lokasenna, Elder Edda

(yeah, and my God damn school teachress (another funny word) claims Elder Edda is norse version of history of a brave knight like about Cid or Roland but about Odin... idiot!)
