Maturity - it is a word which in it's primal meaning described physical/intellectual/sexual maturity achieved in age of XXX.
And because it described these due to achievemnt at some age, it was impossible to achieve features described in age before the age described. Got it?
You can define any word like that - let's say, "chair" would since today mean "a person, who has long hair and big nose"
