Why the hell gamers keep measuring games in HOURS?! It's idiotic.

You can beat game in 25 hours, but if you'll play hard you can beat it in 15 hours, to reveal all secrets you'll need 80 hours etc... I dunno how much time my game will take.

If you think the longer the game is, the better, I can always put up #delay(2000) at start of each battle.

The time in hours is just an indication about how big the game is and how detailed. If you take 4 times longer than Xorlak to make a game then that game should be about four times DA2's size.

Hmm, let's say from the start I'll make an ability for player to beat the boss, which shall be pretty easy - so the game will take half an hour, for example... But I'll put up world which is as large as Earth itself in it  Laughing This won't be a short game.

I haven't played full Dark Age, but, from what I see, game will have about 50 world locations, 15 different characters to play and different ways of beating game (not just 1 ending). But that's theory. In practice, I've not yet finished even 1 board location.  Laughing

If the theory happens, then it will definitely be longer than DA2.

Ah, how long will it be then? DA2 took 2 1/2 years and is about 25 hours long, so your should be about 100 hours long...

Judging by how long I take to make a game isn't a good measurement, since not everyone works in as a feverishly obsessive pace as I do (heh...)

Yep... I usually work on programming when I've got perfect humor, when I'm a bit less happy I work on graphics, but usually both ends up in me being depressed in the end and losing will to work, heh...

It is difficult making assumptions. However, one good indicator as to game length is the file size.

Good - but not best. For example, gifs can take less place than bitmaps.

Length is generally count in meters or feet, so you can't get perfect measurement for the game in such units.

Indeed.

An update, I have just increased my amount of grass tiles to 52. This is due to adding those flowers called dandylions. Later, I will research other colours in flowers which are quite coomon  Smile so I might have 1000s of grass tiles.
