The bullet got Gerard in the right part of his chest. It made a fairly large hole, and blood started gushing out. Gerard fell over.
-"Oof!"
He felt his conciousness fleeting, and lobbed his dagger at Marshal using his last strength.

//The solution for that, Ein, is to produce superhuman characters.//

Bernard said, "OK, well, good morning, comrade. I am going outside to help in the defenses, so please excuse me."

Goujon left. He walked up the street, and levitated up and then stepped onto the wall.

"Good morning, Nikola."

"Good morning, Bernard. I hear you had a visitor?"

"Oh, yes. He seems to be an outsider, so I was extra polite to him."

"Hehe, he is probably some sort of spy. No matter, let them see what they can see. Why should we care if they get worried?"

____________________________________________________________________

Haraldur, having recovered control of his body's flight, easily dodges the laser shots. "So, we have the dream team back, brilliant. Why bon't you two actually go and fight some bad guys, I mean, that is the point, right? Oh, wait, I remember, you are fascists now."

Haraldur spotted the airships, and thought: OK, I have done some attacking, but defence of my comrades must come first. He dropped down right in the path of the airships: they would have to get past him before reaching Laus.

Nikola, we have airships coming towards you. Set your attacks to have affinity for floating objects large than a dinghy. Also set it to attract to the magic used, you know the sort I mean.

//The one remaining tower is unshielded, right?//

Haraldur spotted the one remaining tower, and there seemed to be someone in a high ranking uniform there. Hmmm...

Extending in his right hand a massive pair of bolas, with the balls made of iron and the size of wrecking balls. He spun them around him, and himself around them, and then made himself be still in relation to the ground, and left go. The massive bolas hit the tower on the bit which was the super strong chain, causing the ends with the metal balls to wrap around very fast, until both hit the same side of the tower, blowing out a whole level, causing the tower, with Vincent on it, to to fall, down onto an airship, along with the bolas, which killed a few mages, and made a hole in the deck, but caused no structural damage.

Around Haraldur, wind speed started to increase. Then, he started to spin himself, as a tornado surrounded him, but it was a tornado in reverse, it squashed things on the ground, and threw things in the air to the ground. Below him, the city walls began to collapse. He started to move towards the airships as the wind speed increased.

____________________________________________________________________

Salazar smiled to himself. Intelligence had been right, there had been a small uprising, and it has been put down.

Anyway, time to launch an attack of his own. Draven will not mind if he does not know, besides, it will be worth it just for mapping of the area. Peasants, even trained ones, are scum afterall.

He and his entourage flew back towards home, and preparation.

____________________________________________________________________

Tesla received Haraldur's message, and relayed it to his comrades. Then, including Bernard, they fired off yet more charged arcs.

20,000 shots from Laus, all hitting the airships due to attration. Despite the fact the first ones, by Tesla, destroyed utterly unshielded towers, most are not as powerful. They should be considered of equivalent destructive power as a grenade, so what effect 20,000/3 (approx.) would have on a heavily shielded airship will be an interesting thing to see how strong those things are.

//Where is Kahn?//

The serpent was going very fast now, and in the distance a lone mountain appeared on the horizon, surrounded on all sides by flood plain.

Zeros'  started to become more enraged, but, he stopped himself and calmed down. The more rage he had, the easier his attacks were to read, and the sloppier he would fight. It wouldn't do him good to become sloppy at this point.

He had watched Haraldur disentergrate the roof, twisting around matter and bending it to his will. He had watched the BIG GUN and the 20,000 lights connect. He had watched it all. He watched Haraldur destroy the city, and kill the innocents, however few that lived there.

His hair gradually settled back on it's original color, as did his wings and eyes. (Note: Normal form. Silver hair, green eyes and black, feathered angel wings.)

Zeros' sighed, and ghosted to the side, appearing right infront of Haraldur. With a simple wave of his hand, the tornado dispersed, and Zeros' unsheathed his sword, it transforming into it's Holy/God form.

His blade glowed with a faint aura, and swung at Haraldur. He used his other hand to shove a ki blast directly infront of Haraldur.

\"Runaway with my heart...
 Runaway with my hope...
If I could make you mine...I\'ll go whereever you will go.\"

\"So lately, I\'ve been wondering...
Who will be there to take my place...
When I\'m gone, You\'ll need love...To light the shadows on your face.\"

\"If a great wave should fall...
 It would fall upon us...
Well I hope there\'s someone out there...Who can bring me back to you.\"

\"Way up high or down low...I\'ll go wherever you will go.\"

\"Runaway with my love.\"

In your heart and mind, I\'ll stay with you all of time...

//Sorry! Things came up.//

Hyperion looked at the lone mountain intrigued. This was the furthest he had travelled in his life, in fact he had never left his island home before his master died. He wished he was more amused by his surroundings, but came to the conclusion that more important matters were at hand.

"That mountain, is that our destination?"

Marshal was shocked. He has never killed a person before. Sure a monster that he has summond has taken a life, yet he himself has never personally killed a person. It wasn't much different, yet it felt different. He staired at the dead body, he picked up the magic dagger. "I'll hold onto this for now..." He then looked at Aura, to see the outcome of his attack...

------

Duilin, sees that Zeros' is to close to Haraldur to make a safe attack. So he begins to charge his power, and forms two energy orbs....

"Vehicle... How much do you weigh?"

"Zion... Carrying him will slow us all down."

"But we'll still get there."

--- --- ---

Xenai eavesdropped. Naughty naughty. Mkay... Passing through... but to where? D'oh! I forgot that part...

--- --- ---

"Gah!" She whipped out her scimitars, trying to shield herself. Many bullets bounced off of them, but many others hit. Some of them brushed by, some of them connected. No vital organs were endangered though. She would land on the ground with bullets in her left ankle, right thigh, left upper arm, and right forearm. Many more scrapes would be found. She flared her aura to push the bullets out, and pulled a bullet out of her hair. Gah! He ruined my hair... "Crap..." She eminated with a soft light... She had to stop attacking so that she could take care of those wounds. An eyebrow was raised at what happened next, and then her eyes widened. Dummy... Thanks for trying, though.

Ein finally woke up. He stood up, dusted himself off... His head hurt like someone just crammed a rock inside it. He then headed towards the door... and then it happened.
"<span style='color:red'>Hello, Ein.</span>"
-"Huh? Who said that?"
"<span style='color:red'>I did.</span>"
-"Who are you? Where are you? Show yourself!"
"<span style='color:red'>That would be quite hard. I am but a shadow in your mind. Did your parents ever tell you that your father was a member of a cult?</span>"
-"What? What cult? My parents would never do such a thing."
"<span style='color:red'>Well, they did. However, the cult was later hunted down and destroyed. Seeing that, your father allowed me to posess him.</span>"
-"Why would he do such a thing?"
"<span style='color:red'>Because, Ein, I am the subject of their worship. From this point on I will reside in your mind until I find a more suitable host.</span>"
-"WHAT?!" The idea of a voice inside his head did not comfort Ein at all.
-"Well, at least tell me who you are!"
The voice was gone now. Ein shook his head, as if trying to get it out of himself. After a few minutes of trying, he realized that it's not gonna do much to him, so he headed for the vestibule. After getting there, he thanked the clerk and gave him back his keys.
-"Oh yes, and by the way -- a comrade of mine found you unconcious in your room. Were you OK?"
-"Yeah. I was just taking a nap."
//by the way... the fact that Gerard died does not mean he's out of the story Very Happy Stay tuned...\\

//I know what lobbed means. I guess I missed that part. Say, Marshal caught the dagger.\\

Marshal staired at Aura. He raised his weapon and aimed it again. However he hesitated to shoot again. He didn't feal good about killing people. He started to shake, he clenched his teeth, and fired a single shot again. "Gah!"

"Hmmm, probably around 200 pounds with this armor on...  Why?  Oh, yeah.  The whole wings and flying thing."

Ven stumbled a bit, and sat down on a nearby log.

"Erh... used up... a little too much energy, I guess..."

His head hung heavily, and his arms drooped under his cloak.  Finally he leaned over, his back resting on a perpendicular log, and he fell unconscious, completely worn out...

(Actually, I'd like to give Ven and Mavas a little break, since so much else is going on.  If you'd like to pull out Zion and Tsu for a while too, this would be a good point to have them make a camp and rest or something.  But if you don't, I can wake Ven back up next post.)

----

The Draven hologram responded to Valos.

"Hmmm, interesting...  Yes, I believe the time to attack has come.  There will be some units from Alterña, who I just reached an alliance agreement with, attacking from the other side.  Raze the walls, kill all who resist, etc.  The Alterñians insist that everyone is killed, but I really do not care, so it's your call.  As for the city itself, I have other port towns, so destroy as much as you want...  Just make it clear to Ragnar that I will remove any trash he attempts to build on my land..."

Draven's image faded...

(Note when you have Valos make his move that the camps are equipped with more than just plain soldiers-- use your imagination!)

----

The orb that Draven gave to Salazar, which is now in the possession of one of his men, echoed with Draven's voice:

"If you have been able to prepare this quickly, you are now authorized to attack Laus."

----

The glow of the orb dimmed in his hand and Draven pocketed it, turning towards the window.  The clouds were level with the floating fortress and seemed close enough to touch.

He could barely resist the urge to be in the front line personally, but he couldn't oversee every little operation...  Still, perhaps a visit would be necessary sometime soon.  It is Ragnar, after all...

----

Vincent swore again as the tower began vibrating immensely.  He was going down...

As the tower crumbled, Vincent crouched and placed his right palm on the stone foor below him.  A brilliant blue circle of light appeared around him, some three feet in diameter, enough to encircle the spot he was standing on.  The stones within this circle flashed and turned a gray color, now smooth, uniform, and metallic.  This disc fell slower than the rest of the collapsing tower, and soon the general was above the falling rubble.  Three metallic blades, about two feet long each, then jut out of the metallic disc he was standing on.  These blades began to rotate around the edge of the disc rapidly like a helicopter.  Vincent placed his hands behind his back as the disc he was standing on gently descended downward...

The crumbling tower fell on one of the airships as another wave of attacks from Laus slammed into it in multiple locations... It began smoking immensely and began to slowly fall into the burning city.  The crash was not spectacular, as the airship had barely gotten off of the ground in the first place, but it skid along the ground, smashing through several buildings before coming to a halt and beginning to burn itself.  Soldiers began to leap from the deck.

The other two airships turned their cannons towards the incoming blasts, destroying a percentage of the attack.  Another percentage was reflected by the mages on board, but still some of the energy made its way to the airship hulls and decks, a series of small explosions ripping across each.  When it was over, both were still flying, although smoking lightly in several locations...

These two ships began to move straight up, to make way for wave 2...

Three more large airships became visible as they rose out of the mammoth trap doors, one from each...

Atop the floating disc, Vincent circled the three warriors locked in combat, his hair and coat flaps blowing to the side.  He was finished observing.  Of course this next stunt would be very dangerous, but certainly a once in a lifetime opportunity.  For the learning experience, at the very least...  The surrounding flames reflected brightly in his glasses.  He leapt from his strange flying device and landed on top of a large pile of rubble, shouting so that he could be heard over the commotion and Zeros' attack:

"Ragnar!  First degree criminal, public enemy number one, you are hereby under arrest by order of the Crimson Empire.  You are to cease and desist all action and surrender immediately."

"Yes Lord Draven!" Valos smirked. "Let's kick some ass!" He turned around. He looked at Rink. "You herd him, Imp. Move! We are going to attack!"

He then dashed out of his tent, and swung out his sword and spun it around (kinda like how Cloud Strife does) He then, shouts to one solider. "Ring the bell! We're going in!"

He then dashes into the main barracks. "Alright, maggots! Into Laus!"

The soldiers then gave a war cry followed with "LONG LIVE THE EMPIRE!". Basic soldiers armed with swords, battle-axes, maces and war hammers. There were soldiers in red armour, with small horns on their helmets, armed with flamethrowers. Mages in crimson robes began to charge their magic energy. Valos' elite guard began to load up their shotguns. There were even ninjas, armed with a katana, ninja stars, smoke bombs and a grappling hook. Wyvern riders began to fly off into the sky. Soliders armed with bolt guns (see Maxwell, chapter 5), began to charge off with the rest of the soldiers. Most eye raising of all, ogres, with pieces of armour on, and huge swords, or war hammers, even dashed off with the rest.

The signal was given to base camp one, to advance towards the back of Laus...

Valos, was at the front lines of the attack at base camp 2, going to the front. He was backed up by the mages, who began to charge energy shields, to protect the forces running in.

------

Rink, just standed in were he was, trying not to get trampled by the soliders. "May the gods be with us, ALL of us..."

//Trent, you can have Aura run off, and get her attack group if you want to. Since this battle is going nowhere. \\
