"Barriers?" Valos asked. "Well it can't be the Aspyes, they are gone."

Valos passed back a bit, and then turned back to Vincent. "Perhaps there is another enemy amongst us?"

----

Duilin and Rink sped up more to keep up with Zeros'.

"You know..." Duilin said. "This may sound crazy...but...If Melkoth is back, and if he is to powerful. We may even have to form an alliance with Haraldur."

"You serious?" Rink asked

"Yes, I am. We did so with Draven."

The giant moth began flapping its wings. At first, it did so slowly; then, the wings moved faster and faster, eventually becoming blurred. After a couple of seconds, the giant insect rose and headed to where Duilin was.

Ein manipulated the insect with ease. It was not even his own body per se, but he controlled it as easily as it were. It was like controlling a machine, but even easier, as he did not need to learn how to control it. He already knew. "Hmm... whoever that guy was, this alternation is not so bad!"

Zeros' shook his head.

"Melkoth is strong, yes, but, he more then likely, can't access his full powers here. It's only a theory, but, since he was banished from Gaian, I assume a miniscule amount of his power must of also gone with him," he said, while still flying.

---

Allen breathed a sigh of relief, as, he came directly below where the Crimson Empire was floating.

He signed something upwards, and, a thin red beam shot down, and enveloped the disk. The disk and it's two passangers de-materialized, and reappeared in the hanger, that was just above where Vincent had landed his airship.

The disk landed, and he hopped off the disk, his coat flaring behind him. He saluted the guards, and they saluted back.

"Where is Draven?" he asked.

"He left, sir," replied one of the guard. Allen cursed.

"Who else is here, that is in command?" he questioned. The two guards looked between themselves and shrugged.

"Well... General Vincent and Valos are here, sir," said the guard. Allen nodded, and signaled them to take him to them. The guards saluted, and one left his post, and scurried down the hall, taking Allen in Valos and Vincent's direction.

Before he left, he turned and smirked in Aura's direction.

"Are you coming, miss?" he asked, before turning on his heel, and walking out the door.

(Vincent and Valos are in the (mostly underground) fortress of Redvik, way south of the floating Crimson Captital where Elite Juilian has been left in charge.)

(A note on these shady 'elites'.  They're like Draven's personal bodyguards.  Not really military officers.  They usually aren't in charge of any military functions, unless they are given a task, like in this case they are to defend the Crimson Capital.)

----

Draven continued streaking through the sky westward, visibly passing south of the Crimson Capital, about even in altitude with the floating city.

----

"Another enemy?"

Vincent placed his hands behind his back.

"Hmm, I wouldn't rule that possibility out, considering Ragnar's retreat from the mainland, and it is odd enemy factions would just appear randomly around us...  Although I'm not sure whether that supports your theory or not..."

//Zeros', should I assume that Zeros' has this magical way of avoiding invisible barriers in the air?//

//The barriers are 10x10x10 metres of rock. 1000 metres cubed. Big. Hurts a lot if you crash into one by accident at high speed.//

//By the way people, please remember that almost all the Dark Continent has flight hindering barriers of the type mentioned above.//

//Whatever it is that Zeros''s character thinks, Melkoth actually did die in the (almost) conventional sense, but had methods of having himself brought back.//

Melkoth nodded to Abodahon. "I will."

____________________________________________________________________

A little startled, Quintus turned, and said, "Abodahon! This is a pleasant surprise. How did you come to be here?"

He then noticed that Draven was flying very fast towards them.

"It seems we will have guests soon..."

He telepathed to Melkoth, People can detect us by our auras, we should leave this place. We might as well begin the attack.

____________________________________________________________________

Melkoth replied: Yes. Tell Abodahon that we two shall attack Abodahon, while you guard this place.

____________________________________________________________________

The Prophet nodded. "Abodahon, Melkoth wishes you to acompany him now to attack Retangrad. I will stay here to guard."

____________________________________________________________________

Melkoth grinned. "Really? I prefer, 'He who hesitates is lost.' Anyway, I see you also had plans for your survival. Is this your final form, or would you like me to help come back in a more solid way?

"Please answer quickly, as Abodahon and I are about to attack Retangrad, your old city, in order to gain a port city. In fact, you might like to attend, my old friend. I have heard it is quite run down now, despite its excellent harbour. Apparantly it is not near enough hostile territory, from the point of view of the Crimson Empire, to be worth maintaining. We will have work to do."

He waited both for Alpha Retan's answer and for Abodahon to arrive.

____________________________________________________________________

The palace is 1/2 finished.

____________________________________________________________________

Salazar's troops and the bodyguard of the King of Wahabia fought, until the King was alone.

Salazar flew forward, as did the King. Salazar moved around the king, and the king around him, and then they shot fireballs at eachother. After a few minute of fighting with different spells, the king was dead, and his charred body was dropping to the ground.

Salazar brushed some soot off his fatigues as his soldiers flew into the city to kill all males and children, and rape all females.

____________________________________________________________________

Haraldur now explained of the Energy Survey of North America that was carried out by the Technical Alliance, and how it was completed in the early '30s. He then talked of how they regrouped to form Technocracy Incorporated, and then he started explaining the plan and the ideology. His comrades were starting to nod with agreement with much more frequency.

The explanation, in detail, took many months. //For a very diluted version (without the calculations etc.) got to www.technocracy.org and read everything there. I doubt you will though, and it is not important to the story until later, when I will explain it anyway.//

The five large buildings were nearly finished.

"He wasn't just banished from Gaian." Rink said. "He was killed."

"Well, it has been five years, maybe he has gotten even stronger perhaps?" Duilin replied to Zeros'

----

"Melkoth released me from my entrapment." Abodahon responded. "Oh, attack so soon? Very well, I wish to ask you some questions afterwards, when the two of us are less busy." He then flapped his wings and flew up to Melkoth. "Shall we?"

----

"Well, no it doesn't. Yet, I'm sure the Aspyes wouldn't stay and fight. I'm sure they are all gone in some alternate universe, with their thumbs up their asses!"

He then looked outside. "Yet I do sense a few powerful auras...new ones..."

Ein continued guiding the insect towards Duilin.
"Hehe... Better get ready, bird. I bet you never ate an insect this big!"
He made the insect snap it's pincers a bit.
--- --- ---
Gerard watched the two airships land somewhere around Redvik.  He also noticed a small figure fly into the fortress. "Curious..." He started walking to where the airships landed, but then he noticed a small staircase guarded by two soliders. They were intently conversing. He flew up...
The soliders were talking to each other.
-"Hey, you heard? Laus vanished off to another universe again."
-"Damn, that Ragnar keeps pullin' tricks out of i don't want to know where."
-"Heh... yeah, he's always like.... wha? hey, did you hear that?"
-"Hear what?
-"Ah, never mind, probably was the wind..."
Gerard was stealthly gliding over the two soliders. He then glided a little lower... extended one of his arms. Suddenly, a solider turned around.
-"WHAT THE HELL?!"
Gerard swooped his hand, impaling the solider's neck, but not completely ripping it off his body. In fact, he raised the solider's body with him. The other one hastily turned around.
-"Hey, where'd you...? Ahh!"
Gerard, with the other solider's corpse in his hand, whacked the other one over with the corpse. Then he jumped on him and kicked him in the head //this gets a completely new meaning as he has claws on his legs as well\\. He walked onto the staircase.

// I never said he was flying straight, did I? \\

// As for his thoughts, Zeros' thinks Melkoth was banished from Gaian, and with it, a small portion of his power. \\

Zeros' growled. He was getting pissed off with these invisible barriers. They were more annoying, then anything.

He kept flying erretically, while making sure Duilin and Rink were still following him.

"Stronger? No... I don't believe so," he said, in response to Duilin's question.

---

The guard led Allen deeper, and stopped and conversed with a guard, and turned back to Allen, saluting him.

"I'm sorry, sir. I hadn't relized iit, but, General Valos and Vincent are gone," he said. Allen sighed, and pinched the bridge of his nose, shaking his head.

"Great... Just great," he murmurred.

Hyperion stalked Draven from underground waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike and he was willing to wait as long as was necessary. He was able to keep his life last time, if he failed again he may not be that lucky.

(Cool.  I'm guessing you're the same Haraldur on that site, huh?  Heh, I'll read more later.  However, as interested as I am what the people of Laus are doing, I must remind you that this is a medieval themed RP!)

"Where in blazes are these stone blocks coming from?!"

Draven let loose another wave of fireballs, destroying the barriers in his way.  Pebbles began to rain down from above.  He began to fly a bit lower towards the ground, so as to avoid a set positioned above.  Someone was going to pay, for the irritation factor alone...

----

"Meh, you know the rules..."

Alpha Retan shrugged.

"Only 995 years left before my body regenerates, though.  Where is that idiot son of yours anyway?  I really must thank him again for releasing me.  He he he..."

He stood a bit straighter and shook his staff at Melkoth.

"Anyway, the reason I came, other than the void being so boring, of course, is about the one that killed me last.  The one who's land you're messing up right now.  I really  should thank him too.  The way he killed me, I should get at least 20% more magical capacity with my next body...  so much beautiful hateful power he possesses!

"My point about your hastiness, however, is that right now in trying to take over the first country that you see, you are attacking the only nation that is fighting against your son...  You catch my drift?"

The old man looked up and saw the demon approach Melkoth.

"Ah, Abodahon, if I remember correctly..."

"Ugh... How long did we sleep, Xenai?"

"Two days."

"Holy crap... Ven, wake up. I think we've slept enough."

"And what, praytell, do you plan on doing while you're awake, huh?"

"I want to find out what those demonic energies are."

"I might as well go with ya. Tsu, you comin'?"

"Of course."

"Well, let's see what Ven here thinks about it."

--- --- ---

She saluted the guards. "Yes, of course." She quickly follows Allen and the guards. //Bah, I know I'm not supposed to do posts like that, but I don't know what else to do.

Abodahon nodded. "Greetings Alpha Retan. With the three of us here, our goals will be much easier to accomplish. Anyways, I expect that we may have some guests drop in on our attack, since our auras are catching attention, yet it will just make it all the more fun. Alpha Retan, shall you be joining us on the attack on Retangrad?" He inquired

----

"Hmmm?" Duilin responded, neutral about Zeros' answer. "Well...it seems like their are...two, no three...three auras...Strong ones." He may be skilled with powers, yet he was still new to them, he has gotten used to them, yet five years wasn't very much compared to Zeros', Haraldur or even Draven.

----

Valos then rubbed his chin. "Yes...I believe these auras that I sense are connected to whoever is making those barriers." He crossed his arms. "It seems that a few people are heading towards them, so I'll let them take care of it."

----

Marshal was a little freaked out from the giant moth that he was riding on, yet now he seems a bit more comfortable. "I wonder were they are going? They seem to be headed somewhere." He then looked up in the sky, examining it more so, he noticed that it changed before yet he didn't pay much attention to it. "Perhaps, something has done this, and they are trying to find out. This is just a theory however." He supposed.

Yes, your guess is correct.

Medieval themed yes, however, our middle ages went through the Renaissance and then the Industrial Revlution, so things will not be static, and need not follow the pattern of history on Earth. Also, there is an important difference: magic! I find it amazing how many fanatasy-themed things there are where magic seems to be amazingly underused, considering its utility. It is like us knowing how electricity works, but not using it. How do societies develop in a magical environment? This is, potentially, a fascinating topic. Ther certainly would be the possibility of authoritarianism, which is very well represented in this RP, adding to the sense of logic and "realism".//

____________________________________________________________________

//I was under the impression that Haraldur killed Alpha Retan with the long charge attack (which I forget the name of) which he inserted into Alpha Retan's body and detonated, blowing him up.//

Melkoth grinned, "Do not forget that is your son as well, Alpha Retan. Do not forget your own involvement.

"Yes, I realise that this "Crimson Empire" is fighting our son, but this is to our advantage. There is a chance that they think we are our son, and so will go after him not us. They will also assume, because of this, that we will act like he acts. Also, they have probably been weakened by fighting our son."

//Dude Man, can Valos sense any familiarity in Abodahon's aura? Does he recognise his master?//

//Well, not entirely. He hasn't seen Abodahon for many years, so he wouldn't be able to recognise, since his aura has grown so much since then. He was mostly under Nex's order. \\

"Hmm, yes I sense that Duilin is coming with them." Abodahon said "Once he is here, defend yourself from him if he attacks if you must, but do not kill him."

"So perhaps we should get started on our attack? We should try and finish it before the others get here, perhaps." He suggested.

Ein was flying the moth straight at Duilin, but then something unexpected happened. The creature suddenly stopped, sending Marshal flying, but not completely knocking him off. Ein got a hugimungous headache. "Ow... What the hell was that?" He got his moth to snap it's pincers at where it crashed. Then a big chunk of rock appeared, being smashed to pieces by the insect's pincers. He then continued flying.
--- --- ---
Gerard continued going down the staircase //the one that leads to the place where the airships are\\.
