Tsu noticed Draven flying off. Where the hell's he going?

"Now!" Zion dashed forward, Eternity Weapon in hand. He came within Valos' range... And then he did IT.

// And the first person to tell me what this is based off of gets an ubercookie.

"256 Points of Divination!"

Time then slowed down extremely. He commenced his attack. He didn't really want to kill Valos, so he decided to miss vital points and attack the tenketsu (energy flowing points) that weren't vital points, as well as various random areas on the body (within humane reason) with thrusts that were tip deep.

"2 strikes! 4 strikes! 8 strikes! 16 strikes! 32 strikes! 64 strikes! 128 strikes! 256 strikes!!!"

To Valos, this would sound like nothing more than a quick screech. And he would instantly hurt all over... Zion would appear behind him after a bright flash... How would Valos defend against this?

// I do hope that's within reason after 2 charging posts.

--- --- ---

Aura arrived at about the same time as Allen. She hopped off the disc, and it turned into a hairpin, which she stuck into her hair. The island looked pretty ominous, and the uncertainty she had gotten upon landing was crushed with a surge of determination and confidence. "Hehe... Alright, then. Let's go."

Valos' eyes went wide open, as the strikes went all over him. He felt a bit dizzy, as blood began to sprinkle from him. "You sneaky little rat!" He said, his voice of a bit croaky. His cuts began to heal, and then swung a backwards punch at Zion whom was behind him. The swing of his fist had great force and insane speed into it enough to knock a person to the ground.

What the?! The punch was completely unexpected... He shouldn't have held back. He took it and spiraled to the ground, skidding back. Bad decision on my part. He slowly got to his feet. There wouldn't be any gathering energy during this fight.

Xenai decided to have a try at it. He jumped up in the air, above Valos, Zero Weapon raised.

"Hell Slam!"

Time slowed down again... But this time, it was one unrestrained attack. He shot down with all his force and speed, bringing his sword down on Valos. He was going his fastest, from within the slowed time. He would skid past him, and time would resume for him at normal speed.

Draven removed the small black gem from his inner cape pocket.  It was also glowing with an eerie red aura.

"Excellent."

He replaced it, and continued his eastward flight towards the continent's center.

----

Henri nodded.

"Now that I think of it, it was soon after the incident, though..."

The king walked up to Zeros' and spoke softly so that Ven could not hear.  He didn't want to upset the man by bringing back these memories so soon...

"I'm sure he told you about his brother, Mavas.  He discovered the cursed Kelvot pendant, killed his fellow High Knight, and fled the country.  Ven followed him.  We were vulnerable... something must have happened during that time.  It was soon after that that these victims fell."

Ven knew what they were talking about, and walked closer speaking loadly, pretending not to have taken notice.

"I'm certain they all have something in common."

Ven grabbed a sheet a paper at one of the victim's feet, listing the patient's name and household.

"Perhaps we should check with their non-afflicted family members... I'm sure they came into contact with something...  We'll find the source of this evil and slay it..."

Edward, the man with the green cloak, stepped forward.  His arms still folded like the night before.

"Ven has an excellent idea.  If we all take a few names and split up, we would be able to cover ground very quickly."

"Makes sense,"  One of the other men commented.  The rest of King Henri's entourage nodded in general agreement.

Henri nodded.

"An excellent idea.  But don't spread yourselves too thinly, lest you find the source of this evil by yourself..."

Edward looked at his king from across the room.  It wasn't a particularly outstanding look, a slight raised eyebrow perhaps.  The king wasn't looking at him...

But Henri's voice trailed at the last word, and his eyes became half closed.  Edward spoke next.

"But of course, there is much ground to cover, and we can always regroup once this... commonality between them is found."

The king replied, his eyes still half lidded.

"Yes, a splendid idea.  I've matters to attend to.  I will await your results."

The two men of the group that were royal guards followed the king to the exit, and the rest of his entourage took up several papers each, and proceeded to start their investigation.  Ven did the same.  He passed Duilin, Rink, and Zeros'.

"I don't expect you to help with this part, but you can if you want.  If not, the castle has some nice guest quarters.  Be ready, though.  I'm getting the feeling something's not right..."

(Bear with me.  Things are going to get entertaining real quick.  Heh...)

----

One of the bullets struck Hans in the armor with a loud *ding*.  After performing his blast of lightning, he spun around, his hands blurring in the air in reaction to the machine gun.  He stopped, opening his right palm and revealing a half dozen lead bullets.  He clenched his left fist.

"Are you throwing pebbles at us?"

A couple of wyverns swooped at Marshal from above, plumes of fire spewing from their mouths.  More wyverns exited the palace by the second...  The first wave was fire elemental, but now they were of multiple types: fire, ice, and poison.

"Well, I'm game for whichever." Duilin replied

"Me too." Rink added.

Duilin turned to Zeros'. "So, you just want to go to the guest quarters?"

----

Valos was able to sense the time delay, he increased his speed, and back flipped a few feet away from Xenai's attack. As he was in the air, he aimed a backwards kick at Zion and shot a dark shade blast at Xenai.

----

"Uh oh." Marshal groaned as the wyvern blasted flame at him. He flue the wyvern back a few feet, and avoided most of the flame but still experienced a few burns.

He then held his amulet forward and blasted a large cloud that formed into a swarm of bats. The bats then began to swarm around the wyvern clawing and biting at it, until the creature finally gave in. However, another wyvern shot a blast of ice at the bats freezing many of them, a bunch more began to flock towards him.

"Not good!" Marshal cried. "Yaa!" he then flue down his wyvern, to get in range of the Leviathan, hopefully Ein would notice and fire at them..

----

"I'm not sure." Replied Darak, swinging his axe at one, striking it and then dodging a laser beam. "They must be with the Grey Empire." He then noticed the Talonscar symbol on one of them. "Now were have I seen that before.." He then swings his axe at the one he struck earlier, finishing it off.

Whoa, he's good! Zion wasn't expecting the attack. He got hit, and staggered back, countering by tossing a simple ball of light energy at Valos.

Fuckin' missed... Xenai saw the shade blast coming just in time to get hit by it. However, since he's almost 100% darkness, he took very little damage from it. He simply waited.

Melkoth said, "Let us get him!"

He chased after Draven, and then attacked from behind. He shot a poisoned dart from a blowpipe at Draven's neck, then flew out in curved motion charging a shade ball in his hands...

____________________________________________________________________

As the soldiers under his command swept through Sigmund, Quintus flew upwards, and saw a few men surveying the battle (General Hector etc., but he does not know that). He threw a large fireball at them.

____________________________________________________________________

Haraldur saw the glow of the black chrystal just as his hammer smashed the shield into pieces.

"Destroy that thing if you can, whatever it is!"

Just then, Tesla saw that Haraldur and Durruti were about to be attacked, and shouted "Duck!", dropping down just as the other two did.

Durruti dropped an explosive chargen onto Rufus and the black Chrystal, and it exploded //you decide what happens, Xorlak//.

Haraldur ducked the bullets from Marshall (meanwhile telling the Durruti about Marshall and Ein) and shot two lightning bolts at James and Julian, while Tesla shot at Hans with his ray gun, and shot another ball of plasma towards the black chrystal.

Abodahon let out a quick laugh and then flue towards Draven as well. "Change of mind. Just can't risk you summoning demons." He then crafted a ball of red electricity. "Nothing personal." He then winked at him and then tossed the lightning ball at his target.

-----

As Valos landed on the ground after kicking Zion he placed his hands onto the ground and flipped over, picking up his sword as he forward summersaults towards Xenai, and then stands up and thrusts his sword toward him, aiming a stab at the fighter's torso.

Zeros' shook his head and Duilin and Rink.

"No. I think I'll just explore abit," he said. He cracked his neck and knuckles, and spread his wings to their full wing span, 15 feet from the tip of the left on, to the tip of the right. He folded his wings back into their previous position, and stuffed his hands into his pockets.

He walked towards the enterance to the castle, and waved over his shoulder.

"Call me if you need me," he said, walking out of the palace with a lazy wave. If anyone had saw his eyes, they were narrowed into slits, drifting over the palace. Fast.

Ein caught sight of the wyverns coming for him. He turned the Leviathan accordingly.
-"Eat blackrock, scum!"
Slamming his hand down the symbol, he sent death out to five of the wyverns, ripping them in half. However, a few more were attracted to the deaths of their comrades. Ein noticed that.
-"So you want more, eh?!"
He whipped out his crossbow, loaded with a bolt. He shot a wyvern, knocking it down at another one that was coming for him. Both wyverns were rendered "inoperational". Total kill count: Seven.

--- --- ---

-"Where have you seen what befor--?"
Suddenly, an Elite appeared out of the darkness, sneaking up behind Steorra. He kicked her in the back, knocking her down to the ground. He then placed his foot ontop of her and readied his sword, aiming it at her neck.
-"Argh!!"

--- --- ---

Leaven made his way back into the main area, from which he entered a passage. He walked through, entering a medium-sized area full of tables, resembling a caffeteria.
-"Oi! A shot of something strong, please."
A man in rather festive clothes came over to him, holding two glasses. He sat down near Leaven.
-"What be botherin' ya, brother?"
-"Ugh... The Master gave me another impossible task. You know, sometimes I wonder if it's really worth it being in the Iron Wing. All these things he tells me to do... And the "baron" title doesn't help, either. So what if I can have a mistress any time I want, and that I have unlimited clearance? Man, life is tough..."
-"Ah, don't be worryin', brother! Take a sip, it be help."
Leaven drank some of the fiery liquid from the glass.
-"I guess getting drunk once in a while helps."
He drank more, emptying the glass.

//Ooops, disregard that.\\

Valos then landed on the ground and reached over to pick up his sword, but was then struck by a light energy ball. He tumbled to the ground, and then picked up his sword. He then dashed toward Zion and thrusted his sword forward, aiming a stab at the torso.

//In, short Valos got hit, and he's attacking Zion instead of Xenai.\\

----

Marshal grinned. Good ole' Ein. He then fired his machinegun at one of the wyverns. The creature then flue at him, and blasted a poisonous blast at the wyvern he was riding. He then fired several times more at it. "Oh no..."

Marshal's wyvern began to wheeze, and flying a bit slower.

"Come on, boy...You can do it." He said calmingly.

Suddenly, another enemy came at him, digging his claws into the ill stricken creature. They then began to crash into the ground. Marshal quickly jumped off into a tree on the way down. He then grimaced as he saw his wyvern get torn up, he then turned away.

"Oh now it's on..." Marshal then blasted a blue cloud that began to make shape...

----

"Okay then." Duilin said to Zeros', as he left.

"So, then..." Rink said looking around. "Were are those guest rooms at?"

Zion brought the sword up in a parrying motion. Assuming that Valos is thrusting with the right hand, Zion parries the thrust off to Valos's left, so that both his arms are off to the side. He follows through this motion, leaping up and spinkicking toward the side of Valos' head.

Allen blinked.

"Whoops... Got lost in my thoughts," he said sheepishly. He shook his head, and continued to walk. The reached the edge of the forested area, and looked around.

"Hm.." he murmurred, before stepping into the dark forest. The glowing eyes blinked, and disappeared.

---

Allen looked around the forest. It was... Dark. Very dark. He could barely see, actually. He looked up, at the canopy. The trees towered over him, and enterwined themsevles, with large vines hanging from the trees. The underbrush crunched beneath his feet, as he stepped forwards, and into the darkness.

Some sort of dart penetrated Draven's aura.  It immediately caught flame and burned up before nearing his flesh.  Draven turned his head as he forged forward to see both the demon and Melkoth on his tail.

Wonderful.

He arked downwards as a ball of lightning zoomed past.  He could probably loose the big stupid demon, but he wasn't sure of the other's speed.  No matter, even if they did follow him back, he could sick the Shinryuu on them while he took care of the crystal...

Draven's altitude dropped to the point that his aura clipped the trees below.  He outstretched both arms to his sides and the forest ignited in flame as he passed over, huge flames erupting behind him and thick black smoke rising to the sky-- a massive smokescreen.

----

Ven was the only one left in the room with Duilin and Rink (apart from the victims, of course).

"Just exit this building and follow the main road north to the castle-- you can't miss it.  Ask the guards there.  I'm sure our majesty has already made the arrangements."

He held up the sheets of paper in his hand.

"I'll meet you there later.  See ya."

He exited the hall, the door slamming echoing through the room.

At the sound of the shutting door, all of the plague victim's eyes simultaneously opened....

He walked down the steps, past the guards at the door.  They were talking with an elderly woman, explaining that they were not allowing visitors at this time, and to return this evening between five and nine.

Hearing the name the woman spoke, Ven shuffled through the papers to see if he got lucky.  No, but it wouldn't hurt to talk with her anyway.

"Excuse me, madam, could I have a word with you?"

He asked the old woman a number of questions about what her husband did before he became ill.  Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, except that a few days before he got sick, he came home quite shaken and explained to her that he saw Sir Mavas being chased by royal guards and the High Knight knocked him down, laughing, during his escape through the streets.

He thanked the woman and moved on down the street.  Hmmm, he didn't expect to be reminded of that day...

He continued on, until he heard his name being called from a dark alley...

"... Ven..."

He turned, the shadows revealing a pale man in peasant's clothing walking towards him.

"... Yes?"

"... Ven~..."

"What?"

"... Vennn..."

The man grabbed him by the shoulders.  He was wimpy compared to Ven, who was a foot taller.  The man gazed into Ven's soul and grinned.  It was the same crazy look Mavas had...

"... Vennnn..."

Ven brought his right hand up and socked the man right in the face.  He flew backwards, slamming into the wall.  Ven outstreatched his hand.

"Whoa... Hey, are you okay...?"

The man sat up, still with the smirk and now chuckling...

"... Vehehehehnnn..."

Suddenly a different voice from his left-- lots of them actually...

"... Vennnnn..."

He turned, just in time to see the two guards at the medical hall's doorway getting pushed down the stairs by a mob of pale men women and children.  The plague victims spilled out of the building, looking quite healthy apart from their paleness.

One of them stopped and pointed.

"Ven!"

The rest turned their heads, thrusting their fists into the air.

"VENNNN!!"

The mob began to run at the high knight.

Ven took a step backwards, visibly quite freaked out.

"What the--?!"

----

The barriers surrounding Sigmund gave way next.  From here on it was a straight fight between the armies.  The skies filled with wyverns and the ground littered with soldiers, knights, ogres and the like.

Hector was enraged.  While standing on one of the upper roofs of the fortress, a fireball suddenly hit his group, sending them flying into the air.  All of them died but him, who was more magically inclined.  He landed on a lower roof on his knees, his armor smoking and his red cape tattered.  He pointed at the figure in the sky, screaming:

"KILL HIM!! KILL HIMMM!!!!"

----

Rufus braced himself.  Two explosions engulfed the platform that he was protecting, the first one stronger.  The smoke cleared to reveal a greenish barrier localized to the platform, namely himself and the black crystal.

Great...  He knew he could only keep this up for a few minutes, at this level of abuse...

Hans bent his body to avoid the ray blast.

"Relyin' on weapons, huh?"

He began raging at Tesla at lightning speed, taking the metallic tube from his belt with his right hand.  The lighting blade flashed into existence, and he sliced at the ray gun...

James and Julian thrust their hands outwards to deflect the lightning blasts with their respective elements, flying closer to each other.

"Give me a minute."

"As you wish."

Julian brought his clenched fists to his sides as a blackness surrounded him...

James' image faded, becoming mist, and the mist gathered in front of Haraldur and Durruti, his short form appearing from the cloud.

"My my, once again you've proven yourself quite a rude fellow.  Perhaps we can discuss this like civilized men..."

He placed his hands behind his back.

The red aura surrounding the crystal grew in intensity.  The clouds above the palace slowly began to circle as the island continued its slow movement westward...
