"Blaaaasst yoooooou!!!!!"
Draven's aura swelled even greater as he screamed, the burning man becoming a sun in the sky below the black clouds, bathing the entirety of the mountainous lands south of North Point in a crimson glow. He was seethingly irate, and he poured more and more of his strength down at the demon. The ground was in utter chaos. Earthquakes cleaved the mountains in two. Gysers of magma bellowed from the depths of Gaian. The howling winds sputtering around the colossal beam spun downward as a cyclone of superheated air fought back against the winds that Nex sent upwards. Gigantic boulders flew skyward and rained downward like hailstones...
With one mighty push, Draven sent a gargantuan surge of crimson energy down the beam's shaft. The cylinder of flaming death and utter destruction bulged as the mass thundered down at Nex...

Anslem wondered if he too should be preparing some sort of spiritual charm like Riuki. The newcomer seemed to be well versed in a lot of things while Anslem had devoted his whole life to speed and the sword. Would his skills even do him any good where they were going?
Wait... was he actually afraid? No, he wouldn't let this get to him. This whole mess was his fault. He would do this and help set things right...
But he was still scared.
Where was Renard, anyway?
"Very well," Gaston said, clearing his throat and opening the tome. His glasses slid down on his muzzle slightly as he flipped the pages. "If you two would lie down." Helix had the only bed in the room, but there were blankets and pillows spread out on the floor for the two plane-walkers-to- be. He lay down on his back and tried to relax, which was rather difficult.
Gaston began chanting something unintelligible, but it was a long while before he felt any different. Gradually he felt a pulling sensation, then he felt like he was floating. It was different from when he levitated his body, as he had complete control then. Now he felt like he was in free fall, and that sensation gradually increased until he was flying wildly out of control.
Then everything stopped, and he was standing in a sea of gray fog... The fog was dense up to his knees, his feet barely visible, then the mist tapered off above that. Looking down at his silver furred hands, he could see that they were translucent with a blue tint, as was the rest of his body.
"By the gods..." he muttered. Now he was really freaked out.
The sky above was a deep black, and the clouds a misty blue. That was it. Nothing else in all directions... Darting his eyes about, he saw Riuki standing next to him, also looking quite translucent.
"Ruiki! Are you all right?"
"...all right... all right... all right..." his voice echoed across the nothingness...

After sitting in the darkness for a long time, the black cloaked figure finally decided that there was no one else in the cargo hold of the pirate ship, and he was safely alone.
Removing a pack from under his robes, he quietly opened it and ate a minimal meal of dried meat. It would be a long trip apparently. And time was not on his side, especially now...
