no, humans are more than capable....i predict that one day, we will destroy ourselves.

Ourselves - but not the planet.

Nuclear war? Trust me, before it happens there will be a weapon developed to which, compared, nuclear weapons will be nothing. How about seismic bombs? Or some singularity gravity bombs? (I'm abstract now).

And end of world propably won't happen before 3000 year, if not 4500 years, if not several million years - dinosaurs reigned for ages, why can't we? Most likely because we're more like sabre-tooth tigers which ruled for a smaller period of time.

Overally, anyone ever read Jurassic Park by Chrichton? There was an excellent chapter "destroying the world".

What way MAD worked, Haraldur?

I read it, but that was a long time ago, so I can't remember about the chapter. Jurrassic Park II, the book, was about a thousand times better than the movie. The movie didn't even follow the book. As for the thousands of years thing, I suppose that depends on what you believe  Wink . Some Christians think armegeddon will happen in the next 100 years. And I think Nostredamus (sp?) predicted the world would end in the year 2000....

Cesque: in the 1960s both the USSR and the USA had loads on nukes, still do, and they were increasing. This was in the Cold War and thew idea was that if there was war between them everyone would be killed, especially eachother and their allies , which is why the "Mutually" part is in it. If there was war it was almost certain everyone would be killed, and all life on Earth also, due to radiation.

Anyway, soon I am going to start up my own political campaign, in october hopefully. It will first focus for suffrage at 16, either that or no tax at 16, and then will focus on raising the pension age to 75, or more.

You really should read Jurassic Park, Haraldur.

Radiation is energy. It hastes evolution of microorganisms. Primitive life forms like bacterias actually FEED on solar energy.

You think life is what breathes, eats, etc like humans. There are primitivecreatures found which don't breath oxygen, but pure iron (ferrum) - I believe they were called Archea or something. Billions years ago, oxygen was poison, produced as by-product of first land plants' photosyntesis.

Yes, Spyder, movie was done by Spielberg just to show special effects and dinosaurs. The book was very good and philosophical. Movie - in these terms - sucked, compared to other movies by Spielberg, like private Ryan.

Personally, I would like to die in some monumental "end of the world". I hate thinking that I'll have to hang myself, die from age or in accident.

Aztecs predicted end of world in year 2014.
