As far as I know, it is not possible to download at 11KB/sec on dial up. I'd do the math, but I don't feel like it. Give me a link to your browser, I will test it out to confirm your results.

no, it's possible, just insanely rare. i know you can get very high speeds on a secure connection, 'cause i just dled at over 30 kbps today. i've seen more than 11 on a normal connection, though.

then again... i'm using juno, which is insanely slow. my typical dl speed is roughly 2 kbps. die, juno!

30kbps I know for a fact is impossible on dial up. If your talking about what the screen says for half a second when you start downloading something, that's not really the speed your downloading at. I've seen my browser say I'm downloading at over a 1MB/sec, which is ridiculous on my cable modem.

You guys sorry for not updating for awhile. Afew things I gotta take care of:

Spyder: MT said he was at 11 KBPS with a DL. I can't confirm it being I wasn't there. You can't DL it seperatly seeing how it's part of the Chaos Editor it'self.

Dudeman: Lol man, I'd love to help you one day. But unfortunatly that won't be for a little while.   Master Tamer is having me spend time with other things.

Right now I've got it set to a .5 second delay between "Go" button click. And it seems to be refreshing the screen faster then the internet. So I might need to make that a prefrence. As soon as I figure how to write to registry.

I have some time so I think I will play with it for awhile though. Spyder. Zap! Might have left the link and file on his server account that he posted at TKZ(the link).
That'd be the only thing I can think of.

I should add a spell checker to this  Laughing.

It is possible to download up to 30 KB/sec on dial-up, i've done it to.  Even though one may have a 56k modem, there're limiters installed on them.  Sometimes they buzz out and allow you to actually download faster.  The fastest, legally allowable connection for dial-up as defined by the FCC is 53 kbps, meaning a max downstream of 6.625 kb/sec.  Anything faster is illegal, but not impossible.  Just the same, if one were to remove the limiter in a 33.6 modem, it could probably perform like a 56k.

How can you download at 30KB/sec on dial up if a 53kbps connection only lets you download at a maximum of 6.625KB/sec? If 30KB/sec is possible on dial up, why do people connect at such damn slow speeds? You should always be able to connect at 53kbps regardless of your phone line quality if that were possible.

And it wouldn't be illegle to download faster then 6.2 kbps. I was using getright once and had 11.83kbps myself.

Okay you guys.

Fact: Word2 did not make a browser.
Fact: The browser you use affect PAGE loading times -- not downloadable files.

fact: you are a Git.
fact: downloads along with pages go fast.
fact: I did make a browser. And no It's not in the copy you Downloaded.(just one for that a temporary one).
Fact: For the rest of the thread I will be ignoring KSNilocs constaint bitching.

Edit: I'm sorry for the sudden burst of anger. But I've had it to the hilt with Niloc. And I don't see how some people can stand his consistaint bitching about things.

You don't hang around TKZ much do you? Also DudeMan. I might be free when TKZ goes down friday. If MT doesn't have coding that he doesn't know how to do for me. Heh.
So if you want somthing, I can make it to a point. Although you have to have .Net framwork...

Niloc deserves alot of greif. I'm exausting ideas trying to get rid of this aggravation.

Although I'm not programmer, from what I've heard of most "custom" browsers, I'm going to have to go with KSN on this one. If you just used some control program from Microsoft, it's not really making your own browser, but basically skinning Internet Explorer. Much like CBM's browser that's built into the TK probably; though with more features.
