Actually, I do get out quite often; it's just that I don't like to associate with the people in my neighborhood...hoodlums, many of them. The only people I associate with outside of school and off the net are at the Karate Center. And lets face it, I don't go every night; only like three times a week, tops.

Umm...you do go to school don't you? Is your city so small that the only people at your school are those in your neighborhood? Can't you go visit friends that are outside your neighborhood? That said, I doubt that all the people living around you are "hoodlums". Even if there are a few, what's wrong with "associating" yourself with them? I hung out with what you might consider "hoodlums", and it didn't affect me in a negative way. You don't have to act like a hoodlum yourself to hang out with them.

I go to a technology magnet school, so nobody I go to school with lives within walking distance. Also, my area is 99% ghetto. And as for associations, I just want to keep a clean record.

Like I said, you don't have to act like a hoodlum to hang out with them. The people I hung out with did all sorts of things that weren't exactly what you would call legal, but my slate is clean because I didn't join them in doing those things. Do you have public transportation? Will your mom let you use her car? (long shot probably, considering how you've described the situation between you and your mom, but I thought I'd ask). Do any of your friends have cars?

We have public transportation here, but none of my friends at River Hill High live anywhere near a bus stop.

THe main reason I won't hang out with hoodlums is because if my Martial Arts Master saw me hanging out with them, his opinion of me would lower dramatically, and I don't want that.

Because I study martial arts at a karate school that is right across the street, and most of the kids in my area hang out in the village center...

And as for him knowing that they're hoodlums...you can tell that they're mostly gang members.

Yeah I know how it is man, all the people around my area are 12 year old smokers and 5 years olds who swear constantly and nobody my age, over east there are some cool people, but I have to cross a four lane highway, and I allready have to do that Mon-Fri.

I think it's sad really, 75% of this world is evil, kinda makes you wonder dosen't it...
