how would you create a saving style like tales of phantasia, where you have to stand on a tile and then go into the stat menu and save??

Well, I'm not really sure... I've never played tales of phantasia (but I've heard about it ^_^)

Although, I'd assume that you would just make a tile on a board, then set a program to run when stepped on. As far as saving, you could probably use any regular save method, but I don't know what exactly your looking for.

Sorry, I couldn't be of any more help, there may be some better stuff at

The Shack

Do you mean sort of like Final Fantasy 8 when you walk up to a certain tile (i.e. the swirling save point things) and then you open the menu and Save isn't gray (or whatever color) and it's now white (or any other color) and you can select it and the save thing pops up? I plan on doing something similar like that for my game, however I have not got around to working on it.  So if that's similar, I might can help when I do it (hopefully today or tomorrow)

Go to G's Shack, Menu Systems, and dload the cursor menu system. There is an example of a cursor-based save system.

And for the save points, go to Misc. Programs in G's shack, and look for "Save Point." The author should be RedXIII (although I don't know how he can type with those paws of his).

When I'm not busy and I can get around to working on my game and I code it, I'll help u. God knows how long that'll be, though. I've been busy as hell here lately and I will for a few days in the future, some things on my site and computer are down, etc., and I haven't had time to work on any coding or my game lately.  Sad
