Alternative Rock/Metal. Linkin Park

By comedy I assume you mean artists like Tenacious D, and Adam Sandler?

Comedy! Werid Al, Adam Sandler.

I also like Metal and Rock, but I voted for Comedy since I listen to that mostly.

Only industrial I've ever listened to is probably Nine Inch Nails. Would you consider Evanescence as goth? or are they to soft?

Evanescense are too soft Smile Same as LP, Pimp Lizkit and other such stuff.

"Goth"? You mean "death metal" or "trash metal" or what?

Other.

Here's one for your musical vocabulary: emocore. Smile A mix of emo and hardcore, it's also sometimes called screamo. What fun. We've had quite a few new musical styles defined in the past few years, haven't we?

I like Story of the Year, Taking Back Sunday, and Lostprophets, but then there's also Andrew WK, Rob Zombie, CKY, Linkin Park, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Catch 22, the Living End, the Vines, NEw Found Glory, Powerman 5000, and others. It's a bit diverse.

LP is too soft? Granted, they have one or two "soft" songs (ie Breaking the Habit, My December) but I'd hardly call songs like "One Step Closer" and "Faint" as soft. I suppose compared to songs like Deftone's - "Elite" it's soft though....

They're soft. Compare 'em to Devil Driver, SlipKnot or even Iron Maiden.

They're nu-metal, and nu-metal can't be really hard.

This is true, but they're hardly John Meyer Razz.  I like a couple slipknot songs. Haven't listened to Devil Driver, not too fond of most 80's rock, including Iron Maiden. BTW, why is Slipknot not considered nu-metal?

I like gothic music, but I prefer the softer stuff (like evanescence)
I've listened to Manson, but I didn't really like it. I like music which is actually depressing and from artists that actually have musical talent.
