I know most of you arn't old enough to have a PayPal account, but your parents may, and there are some of you that do as well. For the last week or two, every day, I've been receiving emails that claim to be from "PayPal Team" in the sender location, with the subject "PayPalŪ Account Review Department". The email suggests that PayPal is trying to protect you from identity theft by making sure you keep your account updated with your information, and that there has been "unusual activity on your account". The email says to click on a link that looks like this... "https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_login-run". However, if you look at the source code of the email, or if your email browser is like Mozilla Thunderbird, and shows the actual link at the bottom of the screen, you will see a completely different link starting with an IP address.

This is an obvious scam to get your personal information as well as your PayPal account ID and password, allowing whoever controls the server to access all the money in your bank account and credit cards that are linked to your PayPal account. PayPals website states clearly that all their emails will address you by your first and last name. Of course the fraud email doesn't mention either, because they have no idea who you are. I've already reported the email to PayPal, but just in case you guys get any, I just wanted to warn you ahead of time. I should've posted this when I first found out, but I didn't realize that I would be emailed continuously with the same email.

Please do not ask for the link that the email points to, as I will not give it out for any reason. If your not receiving the emails, there's nothing for you to worry about.
