//Okay, my apologies.\\

"You don't know man..." Said Mr. Firstman (That'll be the name of the first man) "You don't know. I my buddy get grabbed, I heard him scream in pain as he died in second when he was attacked. He pointed at him in a scowl. "Don't you underestimate these things!"

"He's right..." Said a warrior, who dressed in clothing of the Black Guard, he had scars over his face, and he looked in his late thirties to early forties. Everyone was quite and looked at him as he spoke. "I was in the Battle of Geif //the one in chapter 8\\, those...things are nearly superior to us humans, they take a lot of effort to take down." He stood up. "If these zombies that he has seen are the same ones that are the minions of Kronos, then the Kandarin already know we are here."

There were a few murmurs and gasp of fear and worry.

"I say we go in and get rid of the zombies." Firstman said. "I'm going in. Anyone with me?"

"I'm with you." Said the man, who first purposed the idea.

"It'll be dangerous." Said the middle-aged fighter. "So you'll need my help."

Several others stood up and offered to help.

"Okay, we're gonna need to prepare to defend an attack." Said the fighter. "I suppose those Kandies are gonna come soon.?

"Well what makes you so sure that these were Kronos' zombies?" Asked a woman.

"Other then a gut feeling? Nothing. But better safe then sorry?or dead." He replied.

Many others nodded in agreement.

"Alright." Firstman called. "Let's do this."

Coriko was curious to know about this Ein character.

"So," Coriko said trying to sound casual "what is... um.... Mr. Ein like? is he... you know... intimidating."

Coriko knew he sounded like an idiot, but he wanted to know what awaited for him at the house.

"Well, to be honest. Yes he can be at sometimes." Marshall said. "I've only known him for a few days, but I've become good friends with him. However, I've noticed (and as crazy as this sounds) that sometimes he goes into these strange trances and transforms into things, like just a couple hours before a met you he turned into a dragon and attacked us." He continued walking. "But don't get me wrong, Ein's a good man, just lately he's been kinda out of it, ever since his lady friend was executed by Kronos."

The duo then approached the cabin outside the town. "There it is." Marshall said pointing. He walked to the door and opened it. "I'm back." He said.

"Ah, good." Said the innkeeper. "Did you find anyone?" He asked.

"Yeah, this one guy. His name's Coriko." Marshall said introducing him.

Ein was wide awake when Marshall and Coriko walked in, and heard his name.

-"What?", he asked bitterly.

Coriko saw Mr. Ein. He took a slow and loud breath in. Holding it there for several seconds he finally stuck his hand out and breathed out as he spoke in rapid succession.

?Hello Mister Ein. How are you? My name is Coriko and I?m an archer and control fire. Well you probably don?t care about that last part or you know all of it. But hey that?s okay, it?s all good." Coriko didn't retract his arm. "I don?t mind if you don?t want to know my name. I mean who is to say you even want me in the group. Yeah Marshall asked me to join but I?m sure you have say as well. Or you know maybe not. I?m not telling you should if you don?t. I don?t want to get Marshall in trouble. Not that you?re like a teacher or anything. I mean you wouldn?t make a good teacher.? He felt his facing getting hot and still not removing his hand. ?Well you know who am I to judge you. You could be great with kids for all I know.? Coriko paused ?okay bye.?

He turned and walked outside with what dignity he had left still holding his hand out. He sat down, leaning against the house and put his head in his hands.

?Oh god, I am such a god damned idiot! I am not a bumbling idiot, I am cool. Now he probably thinks I am an incopetant moron, damn it! Damn, why does he have to be so intimidating. He probably is a nice guy i just have it in my head he's gonna like suck out my soul. Damn me and my wild imagination. I saw huge zombies and this guy scares me, god!"

Coriko was mad. He got up and walked right back into the house.

"Listen there," he paused, he was angry but not disrespectful. "Mr. Ein. I am not an incompetant moron despite what you think! You are just bad on the nerves. Thank you Marshall for the offer but I may have to decline. I would really like to be a meber of the Aspyes but I dont think I can while still maintaining some dignity. I hope your mission is a succes. Lets do lunch some time in the future. Mr. Ein, you are intimidating and scare the shit out of me and you haven't even said two words to me. My advice; wear a bright colour. Like pink or yellow."

With that Coriko turned to leave the house swearing at himself under his breathfor is stupidity. Hoping beyond hope Marshall would stop him.

Marshall grabbed Coriko by the arm as he turned to leave. "Hey, hey, hey!" He said. "Slow down Coriko. Put yourself together." He dragged Coriko inside. He obviously wasn't thinking clearly. "Sorry, Ein. This one's just a little spooked I guess."

He looked at the housekeeper. "Hey, could you get this man some water?"

"Sure thing." The man said, and he went into backyard to the water pump.

"Just sit down, Coriko." Marshall then sat Coriko down on a chair. He then looked at Ein. "So yeah, apparently Alex found his old suit or got a new one. I was going to stay but this guy seems to be a bit stressed." He said. He then stepped away from Coriko, just to give him some time to breath.

The housekeeper came back with mug of water and handed it to Coriko.

Marshall then looked at Ein again, and spoke a bit lower. "So, are you feeling better now?" He asked Ein sincerely.

Coriko sat listening to the conversation between Ein and Marshall. There wasn't much he could do. He had to recover from his little spasm. He didn't know why he did that anyway.

The people of Aterra, marched into the cave. Some were carrying lanterns to light the way. The people were wielding machineguns, swords, pitchforks, hatchets and hammers.

Within thirty seconds as they went into the dark cave, two zombies jumped from the darkness. The gunman fired at the zombies, knocking them to the ground. Several more zombies came out but were quickly stabbed, hacked and slashed by the Aterraians. The fighters stood at there positions, everything was quiet for several seconds.

"Is that it?"

"Are they all gone?"

----

Meanwile outside, one of the guards at a lookout tower spotted something not too far in the distance. An army of Kandarin warriors had apparently found their location, they were moving quite well for this type of rocky terrain.

"Sound the alarm!" The guard shouted. "Kandarins are approaching! They've found us! THEY FOUND US!

----

Suddenly, a horde of zombies jumped from out of the darkness in the cave. The fighters began battling them off. Guns were fired, blades were swung and blood was shed. The fight was going on for several minutes when the lanterns were smashed and the light was gone. The living humans couldn't see a thing, but the zombies didn't need the light. The fight was nearly impossible, but a few fighters were able to fend them off. Only three remained, the moustached man, the old black guard and good ole' Mr. Firstman.

"Firstman, you still alive!?" Called the old soldier, he could hear his voice as he blocked a wrist blade with his sword.

"For now." Firstman replied, as he stabbed a zombie in front of him with his pitchfork.

"So am I." Said the moustached man, as he smashed away at an undead with his hammer.

"Then get the hell out of here." The old fighter said. "Warn them. I think we just pissed these zombies off; they're going to get in here. Go now!"

Firstman and the other guy complied; they started to head towards the light, which lead to the outside of the cave.

An unarmed zombie suddenly tackled the moustached man and dug his teeth into the man's neck and the man wailed in pain as the zombie killed him.

Firstman was able to get out; he fell to the ground as he reached the outside. He crawled forward, he was exhausted and he could feel his heart pounding and pounding.

"There...are...too.... many...." Firstman gasped.

Several townsmen came to his aid. "Come on, we've got to get somewhere safe, Kandarin soldiers are coming." One said to him.

"Is the cave safe to go in?" Another one asked.

"We've got to get in the cave, the soldiers will kill us!"

"But there are still zombies!"

"Well, how can there be?" One said as he stepped towards the cave. "I don't hear anything"

"Are you sure?"

"Get back! Everyone, get back!" Yelled Firstman.

"Get in the cave. The Kandarins are getting close, and they will attack!" Yelled a guard.

"The zombies are still in the cave!" Firstman yelled. Just as soon as he yelled that several zombies ran out and began attacking everyone around. "It's a trap!"

Ein didn't reply to Coriko's greeting. He grumbled something, grabbed his crossbow, and went outside.

As Ein stepped outside, waiting there, was Roland, he seemed to just pop from nowhere, as he made his sudden appearance. He held his sword in his right hand with his wrist tilted and pointing the tip of the blade close to Ein's neck.

Roland smirked and looked Ein in the eye. "Well, well. If it isn't Kandarin's most wanted." He said mockingly in a quiet voice. His smirk lowered, and his eyebrows narrowed. "Get Marshall out here, and I'll let you live..." He whispered.

----

The guards of Aterra were actually able to hold off the Kandarin's pretty well. The magic cannons supplied by the first band of Aspyes have proven useful. The soldiers were falling quickly as they came in range.

However on the inside the zombies had the upper hand. Mostly it was just peasants that had to fight them off...

Firstman was quite a skilled fighter for a peasent. He was actually willing to apply and join with the Empire's ground troops just so he could get some money and not have to deal with the hardships of being a commoner. However after the Aspyes brought forth the new way of living he put that aside and went back to farming, but with a better attitude towards it, now that he could finally relax without the empire breathing down his neck.

Firstman was able to grab a decent sword, and began slicing and stabbing away at the zombies that came at him. Something was really strange, he noticed that zombies kept coming from the cave, it didn't seem right at all.

However, there is one possibility, maybe the Kandarin had found this place a while ago and maybe they built a tunnel connecting to the cave. That had to be the only explanation.

Suddenly a deep roaring came from the cave. Most of the peasants, guards and even a few zombies stopped and turned around to look at the cave. Emerging from the darkness out came a large assembly of bones.

"Oh shit..." Firstman groaned. "Necrodragon..."

Coriko left the building after Ein. He knew it probably was a bad idea, but he wanted to set things straight.

"Mr. Ein, I..."

Coriko stopped when he saw a man holding a blade to Ein's throat. He stopped Dead looking at the two. The man watched Coriko. Not wanting Ein to die because of him, Coriko slowly raised his hands. When they were at their peak he ignited them and shot a blast of fire at the man as quickly as possible to try and catch the man off guard.

Roland whipped around, unsheathing his sword as he went. The flying blast was sliced in half by the platinum blade, dissipating in the air. The undead general growled and turned back to Ein.

-"Anywho, where was I..."

Just then, Roland felt a cold, sharp jab at his stomach. Looking down, he saw Ein's crossbow pressing tight on his skin, the bolt nearly drawing blood. He looked back up to see Ein's grinning face, as Ein clicked the trigger. The bolt pierced the general's stomach, nearly knocking him back. Using the opportunity, Ein ran in the first direction his weary brain thought up of: back inside the tavern.

Roland heavily sighed, and, with great annoyance, pulled out the bolt, tossing it aside. He glanced at the tavern.

-"Damn kids today... they never learn..."

He sheathed his sword, and entered the tavern.

-"This house bears the prescence of a criminal wanted by the Kandarinian Sovereignty. Surrender the savage now, and this pitiful excuse for a tavern might be spared. Continue to hide him, and find your home go up in ashes."

The innkeeper looked around.

-"There's no one here."

Meanwhile, the heavily sweating Ein was watching Roland from behind a series of loose planks in the floor.

-"Indeed? Then what you're saying is that I am no longer capable of judgement? What kind of an idiot do you take me for?"

The innkeeper tried to keep his cool, alas, without much success.

-"Ah..."

-"I'm not blind. I saw him run in here. Now... where. is. he?"

-"Ah..."

-"Fine, have it your way."

Before the barman realized what happened, the top half of his head gracefully slid down on the floor, brains and blood splattering everywhere. Ein winced as a drop of blood seeped through the boards onto his face, as Roland sheathed his bloodstained sword.

-"Ein... come out, come out, wherever you are..."

The general's heavy boots thumped loudly against the creaking floorboards. Thump, creak. Thump, creak.

-"This is getting tiresome. Get out from wherever it is you are hiding."

Ein kept quiet.

"Leave him alone Roland." Said a voice from behind him. "It's me you really want."

Roland turned around. "Marshall..."

----

The necrodragon began to smash away at Aterra, crumbling down the buildings, nothing standing in it's way could stop it.

The only upside is that the guards were actually able to take out the entire Kandarin force heading towards them, the wall had suffered severely, but these soldiers clearly weren't as skilled as Roland's were on Geif.

The gun turrets spun around to shoot at the Necrodragon. A series of magic blasts began to rain on the undead creature but it only caused it to roar in annoyance and head towards them. One by one it smashed away at the gun towers.

----

"Why are you here Roland!?" Marshall asked demandingly. He had his MagiPistols pointed at Roland, however his hands were noticeably shaking. He was nervous. This made Roland grin.

"Oh for a number of reasons." Roland replied, he lowered his sword and stepped towards Marshall. "One, there is the bounty on Ein." He stepped closer. "Two, I can't allow anyone who entered Asgarnia to leave alive." He then lifted his sword a bit higher. "And three, I've come for you. We need you."

"Why?"

"Because you are still...fresh...alive. You still have the pure memory of the Blue Minotaur." Roland answered; he then spoke again before Marshall could reply. "What do you know about...the spirit?"

"Nothing much." Marshall replied. "Just that, he's the ghostly and godly spirit of the blue minotaur, who gives us our power and has assigned us to protect Gaian."

"Is the spirit real?"

"I honestly never believed in it. I thought it was just a story to give us moral. I believe in the Revolution now anyways. Haraldur is my new godly spirit."

"Ptt.." Roland spat. "Haraldur. Anyways...Apparently, this spirit may actually BE real, and it may be a single part of another spirit. Well, we need you to help us find it! Before me and the elder's 'evolution' we read that only a true follower of the Blue Minotaur could ever contact this spirit, the elder may have been able to but he's a senile old zombie now. We need you, alive, we need to find out were it came from, find out were the others are..."

Marshall lowered his weapons as Roland was talking; as soon as he was finished the undead general pointed his sword at Marshall's throat. "Come with me, and I'll let your friends live."

Marshall looked at were the dead man was lying and then back at Roland...

----

The armed peasants and guards of Aterra eventually got the point that there feeble attempts were useless on this mighty Necrodragon. They were all desperately wishing that Haraldur was here, only he could help them...

But it was too late, Aterra had been completely levelled, the necrodragon had destroyed ever building in the small mountain village.

----

"No!!" Marshall yelled, he then kicked at Rolands gut, causing both of them to fall back.

As Roland picking up his balance he was shot by a fireball and a bolt of lightning from Marshall's guns, he was knocked to the ground. He then got back up and looked at Marshall with deathly glare.

"You little..." Roland ran at Marshall. The summoner shot two more blasts but Roland blocked them with his staff. He then did an upper cut swing with his sword yet Marshall backed out of the way.

Roland pointed forward his staff and the shot a gel monster right from the gem. The monster then grabbed on Marshall's chest. He pointed one of his guns at it, and shot it off with a fireball. Just then he was smashed in the face with Roland's staff and fell to the ground.

As Marshall was lying on the ground. Roland looked outside at Coriko, he glared at him and closed the door and locked it. Marshall then holstered his magipistol with the yellow gem, and then held on to his amulet and quickly summoned a vampire bat then flew towards Roland and began to bite at his face, causing him to drop his weapons.

Marshall ran into the kitchen, and began panting.

Roland ripped the bat off his face and tossed it onto the ground, and stomped on it's neck, killing the critter, he picked up his weapons, and began walking around the house.

"It's sad Marshall. You hide behind our creatures and have them fight for you. Yet I only use my creatures to help me fight, or use them as a weapon. That is why you are a coward and a weakling. I always thought that."

Marshall sighed. He was getting upset, but he had to remember that's not Roland. Roland is dead.

"Come on Marshall. Be a man." He put his weapons down on the floor. "Tell you what. I'll fight you unarmed. Let's go."

Marshall sighed again. He had to fight him soon enough. He then stepped into the living room were Roland was. He then holstered his other gun.

"Ah, you're putting away your weapons. Finally."

Marshall then ran at Roland and swung a punch at his head, yet his wrist was grabbed and twisted before he could hit him. The pain caused Marshall to turn around. Roland then let go and then kicked Marshall in the back, knocking him the ground and began stomping on him. Marshall then gained his strength back and then rolled over avoiding another stomp. He then kicked at Rolands legs, hopping knock him down, but all it did was annoy the undead man.

Marshall quickly crawled backwards and got back up. Roland slowly walked towards him shaking his head. Marshall saw that Roland was clearly stronger then him and this fight was unfair, so he picked up Rolands staff from the ground and swung it at him. Roland avoided the swing by backing up. He then strafed around him, and then picked up with sword and swung it at Marshall. He blocked the blade with the staff, and the two weapons locked. Roland was pushing back Marshall, it didn't seem like the young man could win. Unless...

Marshall focused his magical energy into the staff, and the gem began to glow.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing!" Roland yelled, as he backed away. Marshall pointed the staff at Roland. He sheathed his sword and then ran at Marshall and grabbed his staff. "Don't you use MY staff!!" He began to pull the weapon away from Marshall, put the man was determined and was able to keep it away from him. Roland began to focus his magical energy into the staff as well.

"Don't!" Marshall yelled. "The monster will go rouge!!"

Summoned from the gem was a multi-coloured wyvern with four wings, apparently the two summoners had a different idea of what to summon. The roof of the house was smashed and the creature screeched and looked at Roland and Marshall. And the two looked at it as well. Marshall let go of the staff and then backed away.

"Amazing..." Roland said, looking at the mutant creature. The wyvern then dove down at Roland. "Noo!!" The creature grabbed him and it flew away with his prey.

Marshall then leaned back on the wall and slid down to sit on the floor, breathing deeply...

----

The forces of evil had taken over the entire continent, not a single free city.

In the distance, good ole' Mister Firstman could be seen. He saw that all hope for Aterra was lost, but not all hope for Gaian. He would seek out others, and together they would form a resistance...

Many people of the revolution may be dead, but the battle for freedom will never die.

To be continued...
