I know Xorlak and other have sad to use those funky music recorders, but Im trying to record something off the internet (it wont let me download the file...) but it doesnt work....any one know how?

Umm... can you hear it on the internet? If so, you can check your temporary download folder for it. Usually thats somewhere in the system directory.
