I formatted my hard drive over the weekend and forgot to backup my game...

All the work from the last three years (which wasn't as much as it sounds) is gone...unless it's on a CD somewhere. Ironically enough, I always make fun of people who post these kind of reasons why they're now scrapping or restarting their game. Ah well, it's probably better that I start semi-new anyways. Maybe that will prompt me to work on it more, now that I know what needs to be worked on.

Ouch......i don't believe in frequent formats......unless something causes a problem.  It shouldn't even be necessary if one performs proper maintainence on it in the first place (Defrags, normal scans, etc)

I once wished that happened to me. For The Black Walkway.....I hate that game to tell you the truth...I played it after I made it. I am SO remakeing it...

Your game on the other hand was better then mine. So now you have to re make it eh? You should have better less used graphics. RPGMaker ones have been used to much.

Happened to me. Twice. You can get why I am sick of making RPG toolkit game now. I know the feeling. Sort of.

Yeah wellcome...just don't be spelling like that...I hate it when people spell like that...it makes me want to....to......FIX THE SPELLING!! But yeah, wellcome.

But anyways, Spyder, perhaps this time you should release more demos of your game. Because if you ever get everything lost, you can download your game, and remake stuff from there!

Boo yeah!

Well, that is in fact what I will have to do...

well, I won't have to download it, as the games hosted on MS "were" backed up on my hard drive, but yeah, I'll have to install it and start from where I left off so many years ago. Unfortunately there was quite a bit of music from the Reeves that I'll never get back  Sad . Maybe I can release a 2nd demo with the music I have though.

Defrags have actually ruined files on my hard drive before. Music, movies, and CD images mainly, and it caused my computer to run noticably slower. Happened once with Windows' built in defrag software, and once with Diskeeper (which was reccomended to me after the Windows' one messed things up). Now I no longer believe in defragging, especially since the extra speed you would've gained is probably non-existant with today's fast computers.

Yeah I did that for my game ... but fortunately I'd already at the time discontinued work on that version and to get it back all I had to do was download it off Mystic Software!

I have not formatted my HD since i got it last 2000 AD. Wink
But my registry has loads of errors now..there are a lot of programs listed in the Add/Remove Programs, but i've actually removed/uninstalled them already. It's either i repair the registry myself with regedit, or i format my HD. Sad
